Perricone MD: Pre:Empt Series

Sunday 27 August 2017

Perricone MD is one of those higher-end skincare brands which I have seen a lot about, and heard SO many great things, but which I have personally not tried. Up until now that is. I have been taking a much bigger interest in my skin these last few months, and have actually stuck to a FULL skincare regime, apart from the odd night when I have been super tired, and I can absolutely see the difference it has made, which I believe is why I am keeping to my regime. It always helps when you can see the difference putting time and effort into things makes. This is the Perricone MD Pre:Empt Series and I am going to be talking about the products I have recently been trying.
Starting with the Daily Foaming Cleanser (£29), a gentle cleanser which thoroughly cleanses and removes makeup without stripping the skin of its natural oils, which is what it needs to stay hydrated and functioning correctly. The Pre:Empt Series features Dr Perricone's proprietary Nrf2 Antioxidant Support Complex, which improves skin's own ability to combat oxidative stress and environmental aggravators and works to pre:empt the first signs of ageing. This is a real luxurious cleanser, and you only need a pearl-sized amount of the product, gently massaging it into the skin and then rinsing with warm water, both morning and evening. As well as melting away makeup, it can also be used for eye makeup, and smoothes and softens the skin giving you that 'clean skin' feeling. My skin tends to be on the sensitive side, and I had no problems with this.
This can be followed by the Exfoliating Pore Refiner (£35). This has been scientifically formulated to Pre:Empt the first signs of noticeable pores, dullness and uneven skin texture. It comes in a gorgeous glass bottle, and is a generous size, so this is going to last you a while. Exfoliating Pore Refiner is recommended to be applied to cleansed skin, using a cotton wool pad, and then smoothing over the face and neck, again both in a morning and on an evening. This has been created to gently exfoliate the skin, clarify, and refine the skin's surface, providing a natural radiance and softer, smoother skin, both appearance and feeling-wise. It has a gentle scent to it, so again, I don't think this would irritate a sensitive skin and it really helps to tighten the skin, improving the appearance of pores, both instantly and over time.
For a real skin treat, try the Skin Perfecting Serum (£54), which comes in a little glass bottle and also a glass pipette for easy application. This is my joint-favourite product within this collection, as it left my skin feeling so silky, and I found it an amazing base for my makeup. The Skin Perfecting Serm has been formulated using plenty of powerful antioxidants, and features the highest concentration of Nrf2 Antioxidant Support Complex for maximum benefits. It is a lightweight formula, and is recommended for use morning only. You only need a few drops to cover the entire face and neck, and simply smooth it over the skin to let it sink in and work its magic, helping to brighten, firm and smooth the appearance and feel of the skin.
When it comes to wrinkles, they tend to first appear around the eye area, so an eye treatment can be super important and worth the investment. I have been trying out the Brightening Eye Cream (£39), which has been created to Pre:Empt the first visible signs of ageing around the eye area. This immediately brightens due to it containing light-reflecting pearls and helps to diminish the appearance of dark circles, fine lines, puffiness and signs of fatigue. As soon as I apply a pearl-sized amount both morning and evening, it instantly refreshes my eyes, and makes me feel more awake, especially in a morning. The eye area is one of the softest, most vulnerable areas of our faces, and so it needs to be taken care of extra carefully, there I recommend using your ring finger to apply the cream with as this finger applies the least pressure.
My other joint favourite product from this collection has to be the Fixer Solid Oil (£38), as I am loving oil-based products at the moment, as they are SO good for the skin. The Fixer Solid Oil contains a blend of natural oils which instantly hydrates and nourishes dry skin, and a little goes a long way here, simply by warming the oil between your palms or finger tips. This is a great all-rounder as it can also be used in your hair, on your cuticles, through your eyebrows, the list is endless. Formula-wise it is quite lightweight, and is kind of an oil/gel formula which upon contact in not greasy at all and so doesn't leave a residue on the skin once applied. I tend to get really dry on my cheek areas, and within just a couple of uses this has managed to rehydrate that area.
The Perricone MD Pre:Empt Series is available online at Perricone MD.

All the Loves,
