Spring Haircare Routine Featuring L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths & Aquis Towels

Thursday 12 April 2018

I strongly believe that our hair can get ‘too used to’ the same haircare products, and so every so often I like to switch mine up a bit. When I recently saw the L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths Collection advertised, I knew it had to be next on my haircare trials. I have fairly long hair - down to my chest - but it had seemed to stop growing any further and so I was excited to give these products a whirl!
The collection consists of four products - the Restoring Shampoo, Detangling Conditioner, No Haircut Cream and the Saviour Masque. I ordered mine from Boots online as they were doing a 3 for 2 offer on this range and delivery to my local store is free. I ordered all four products because I always think, if you are going to try something, you may as well go all in!

The price range of this collection is also extremely reasonable even without an offer applied, the L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths Restoring Shampoo and Conditioner 400ml cost just £4.99 each. This creamy, caring shampoo is enriched with a cocktail of Keratin, Vitamins and Castor Oil to cleanse and reinforce the hair, which is definitely needed with longer length hair as it often gets damaged much easier. The shampoo also helps to protect against breakage of the hair and helps to reduce the appearance of split ends - and if you have long hair, then you know how annoying these can be! The L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths Detangling Conditioner is excellent for detangling long hair and helps to reduce breakage caused by brushing by up to 50%, therefore keeping the hair in better condition and then better growth.
I was rather intrigued by the L’Oreal Elvive No Haircut Cream (£5.99 for 200ml), based on the name alone. This cream has been created for those of us who see our split ends and broken strands and haul ass to the hairdressers. It has the same smoothing and conditioning formula and ingredients as the shampoo and conditioner, but is to be applied before using heat appliances, to provide protection against unto 180 degrees and adds shine to long hair to keep it looking healthy and glossy.
If like me, you love a little, or a lot, of pampering, then the final product I recommend using is the L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths Saviour Masque (£5.10 for 300ml). Help rescue your long locks which feel damaged with this saviour hair mask, which is again enriched with Keratin, Vitamins and Castor Oil. The formula reinforces the hair to leave it feeling nourished and looking salon-worthy shiny. L’Oreal recommend applying this to the lengths of the hair and leaving for 2-3 minutes before rinsing, but if you have the time, it is always worth leaving on for longer, or even overnight to let your hair soak up all that goodness!
One item which I have not gone a day of hair-washing without since I first discovered it well over a year ago now, is the Aquis Luxe Hair Towel. I have two previous towels, and not because the other got worn out, but simply because I could not wait for the original to be popped in the washing machine and so I just had to have a back up! I never ever thought that I would include a towel in my desert island essentials, but this isn’t just any towel!
At £30, you may think I’m nuts, but it really does make a difference to so many factors of drying and styling my hair. This luxe hair towel is made out of innovative fabric woven from ultra-fine fibres for minimum weight and maximum drying powers and dries your hair fives times faster! It can be used on all hair types, lengths and also helps to minimise frizz and damage as it dries the hair fast with less friction like you would get using a regular towel.

Now this 100% works - I have no doubt, no question that this will be an absolute wondrous addition to your haircare routine. I even took one to Orlando with me on holiday in March because when I dry my hair with any other towel now it just isn’t the same. It is super soft and you simply wrap it around your hair like you would any other towel. Due to the aforementioned fabric, it soaks up the moisture from your hair without you having to rub and tug at the hair, in extra quick time.
Since using the Aquis over a regular towel, over the past year and a bit, the condition of my hair has greatly improved, and it takes just minutes to dry my long hair with a hairdryer afterwards, resulting in less heat application too. I have had my original towel as mentioned, for well over a year now and it is still in excellent condition, I was simply being frivolous (and of course I didn’t want to be without one when the other was in the wash) when I got a second.

At first, the £30 is an investment, but when you see how much quicker it makes your haircare routine, and how much it improves the condition of your hair, y’all can come back and thank me!

You can find the L’Oreal Elvive Dream Lengths collection instore and online at Boots and the Aquis Luxe Hair Towel online at Feel Unique.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
