April Beauty Favourites

Tuesday 1 May 2018

Woo-hoo! This is my first monthly favourites since I re-started blogging. I have tried out so many amazing products these last few months, but these are the five beauty products I have been reaching for the most throughout April… Let’s get cracking!
Starting with haircare, and Batiste is something I use pretty much daily! Probably more than I use shampoo and conditioner I am slightly embarrassed to say. However I find that constantly washing my hair can make it oily and greasy, whereas when I use Batiste and wash my hair less, it dries it out slightly so that I can go longer without washing it. I have lost count of the amount of cans of Batiste I have used and I always love trying out their new fragrances. Their most recent release is Batiste Luxe (£2.99), an opulent and bold scent, which is adorned with turquoise and gold peacock-style feathers. I adore the luxurious and sensual scent of Luxe, and this warmer fragrance is something I tend to prefer over a fruity or sweet scent - although I do use all the Batiste scents, but this is definitely a new favourite! Whether it is to cover those greasy roots, or to add a little volume or texture to my hair, Batiste is always on my dressing table.
Moving down to eyes, and I am loving the newly released Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Sparkle Sticks (£23 each). I am a huge fan of the Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eyeshadows as they have just the right amount of glitter to them and so I was excited to try these out. The Sparkle Sticks are vibrant pearl-infused eyeshadow sticks which have an 8 hour wear formula and give a high-impact glittering finish on the eyes. There are 9 shades available, and I chose Gilded, a light silvery gold with tiny multi-coloured flecks of glitter running throughout and Rose Quartz, a warmer pink-toned shade with gold and pink glitter. These are so pigmented and blendable that as soon as you apply onto the skin, you are good to go - the glitter stays in place all day long and the colours are just utterly stunning - I am already planning on Aurora Pink and Tanzanite for my next purchases! Love, love, love!!!
Left to Right: Gilded, Rose Quartz
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good high-end beauty purchase, but I also never shy away from cheaper, high street brands, as you can find some real hidden gems there, including the newly-released Revolution Conceal & Define Liquid Concealer (£4). There are a whopping 25 shades to choose from, ranging from fair to deep, in cool, neutral and warm undertones. It comes in a little plastic tube which contains a sponge doe-foot applicator for precise application, whether it be on the chin, cheeks, under the eye, the nose, forehead or underneath your brow arches. It is a lightweight yet full coverage concealer which can cover blemishes, even out skin tone and cover up dark circles. It has a long-wearing matte finish and blends into the skin effortlessly. I opted for shade C1 which works well for my fair skin, whilst still managing to cover up my dark circles underneath my eyes.
Something which isn’t a new release, but which is something I have only recently purchased and fallen in love with is the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Parisian Lights (£32). This has been created in collaboration with Parisian beauty blogger Sananas and has even got an Eiffel Tower imprinted onto it. Parisian Lights is a soft, rosy pink blush shade which has been infused with shimmering golden pearl to flatter and enhance all skin tones and is so super pretty. It still has BECCA’s mineral pearl blend, with ultra-fine, luminescent pearls to absorb, reflect and refract light to amplify the skin’s natural radiance to get that stunning BECCA glow we all know and love. I own many BECCA products, especially the Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighters and they really are such a stand out brand for me, never failing on giving the best healthy yet natural glow to the skin.
If you read my Too Faced Spring post, you will see that I tried and loved one of the new Lip Toppers, and loved it that much that I went ahead and ordered another shade from the four they have to offer. This time I opted for the Too Faced Angel Tears Mystical Effects Lip Topper (£16), which has a diamond peach finish, featuring lots of tiny specks of soft pink glitter. The Too Faced Lip Toppers can be worn on their own or over an alternative lip colour to give it a completely different look. They have an iridescent formula which shifts shade when it catches the light to create a mesmerising, chameleonic effect. The formula is luxurious without being sticky or gloopy and Angel Tears suits my pale skin tone perfectly.
Which have been your most-used beauty products throughout April?

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
