Maybelline Total Temptation Collection

Sunday 13 May 2018

When I was in Orlando back in March, I noticed the Maybelline Total Temptation Eyeshadow & Highlighter Palette in Walgreens, a popular ‘drugstore’ over there, and thought it looked super pretty. However, I don’t always like buying things in America that I can get here in England as I prefer to buy things that I can’t get in England, so I waited until I got home. When looking online for the palette, I also noticed that there was a mascara and a brow pencil in the collection, and as Boots were doing a 3-for-2 offer on cosmetics, I thought I may as well give all three a go!
Starting with the brows, we have the Maybelline Total Temptation Brow Definer (£7.99), which is available in three shades, Blonde, Medium Brown and Dark Brown. As I have quite naturally medium to dark brown hair, I opted for the Medium Brown shade. This double-ended brow product has a fluffy rounded spooly brush at one end to blend the product into the brows for a natural look and finish, and to brush through the brows, and the easy to use Brow Definer pencil at the opposite end. The shape of the end of the pencil is a little like an upside-down kite shape, giving it different angles to suit your brow shape and preference. The pencil applies easily to the skin, with no tugging or pulling, and gives the softest, beautiful defined brows in just a minute or two.
Keeping with the eye area, next up is the Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara (£8.99), which I believe is only available in Black. Throughout the Total Temptation collection, the packaging is just adorable, I love the soft Spring peachy tones - it matches my blog background perfectly! The Total Temptation Mascara gives the ultimate length and volume to your lashes, and has a creamy whipped formula which has been created with coconut to give you softer lashes which feel more conditioned and nourished. The mascara wand contains a bristled brush which does look a little clumpy when you take it out of the tube, but there are no clumps whatsoever upon application. It instantly lengthens the lashes, giving them a pretty, fan effect and I think it is such a good idea to have a mascara that also cares for your lashes as well as making them look fabulous.
Moving on to the product that started me off with this collection, we have the Maybelline Total Temptation Eyeshadow & Highlight Palette (£11.99), which contains eight eyeshadows and two highlighter shades. What caught my eye with this palette was the fact that the hues are so pretty and Spring-like, with nudes, peaches, shimmers, mattes, lilacs, pinks and even a grey, along with of course those two stunning highlight shades of champagne gold and lilac pink. I think this would make a great holiday palette as you can create so many different looks due to the different shades and textures, being able to create a daytime look or an evening one, with a shade to match most outfits. The shadows and highlighters are buttery soft when applying to the skin, and with such amazing pigmentation, you get great colour pay-off. This palette will definitely be getting a LOT of use over the next few months and beyond.
You can find the Maybelline Total Temptation Collection instore and online at retailers such as Boots.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
