At the beginning of any blog post, I will clearly state whether the post contains gifted items (press samples), whether it's an advertisement and if there are any affiliate links included. If I have included a discount code, I will clearly state whether I personally benefit from you using it.
What is a gifted item?
'Gifted' products are sent to me for review consideration, e.g. PR samples/press samples. I'm not asked to feature, review or promote them so they will appear on my site and social media, it's because I have tried and tested them and because I have personally decided to do so. Whether a product has been sent in PR to me or not, my opinions will always be unbiased.
What's an affiliate link?
Within my blog posts, I like to link products to make sure that you can easily find them if you are wanting to purchase them or find out further information. I do sometimes use affiliate links and if you click on them, I might make a few pennies from the click or if you purchase an item, I might make a very small percentage from the sale. For further clarification, I will label these affiliate links with a '*' so that you know what you're clicking before you actually click.
What's an advertisement?
This will be where a brand has had some control over what is included within the content. Whether it be published by a certain date or specific information has been asked to be included, for example. This will be stated as clearly as possible and on Twitter and Instagram, this will be displayed at the beginning of captions or before having to click 'read more'.
