Benefit The Porefessional Hydrate Primer Review

Years and years ago I remember buying the Benefit The Prefessional Original Primer way before primers were a 'thing' and I loved it, I went through so many tubes and it is still to this day one of my favourite primers. The Porefessional Pearl was also a nice primer, but I didn't love it as much as the original. However, my skin has since changed, and gets pretty dry, partly down to my hormones, and so the Original Porefessional doesn't do as good a job as it used to. So, when I spotted that there was a new kid in town, the Benefit The Porefessional Hydrate Primer, I ordered it immediately.
The packaging is more or less the same as the original version, but with a blue colouring to it and you still receive 22ml of product, which I never thought was that much, and I did use to order the larger version. The formula has a peach colour to it, but this doesn't necessarily show up on the skin, so if you have a darker skin colour, this isn't going to alter your colouring or look too light.
Texture-wise, it is still kind of balmy like the Original, yet much more hydrating. For a full face, you do need quite a bit of product, which is why I used to buy the larger size, but I do prefer how hydrating this primer is compared to the original. With regards to performance, I would say this is just as good as the Original too, my makeup goes on super smoothly, there is no oil on my skin later on in the day and my makeup stays in place.
The Hydrate Primer contains Hyaluronic Acid which helps lock in moisture and Shea Butter to smooth and moisturise the skin, so this is definitely as much a skincare product as it is a makeup base, and I really love that. I have quite enlarged pores, and so no primer has ever completely erased those out, and I don't think I ever would find such a primer, but this definitely does make a difference.

The Benefit The Porefessional Hydrate Primer costs £29.00, which in my opinion is pretty pricey for the 22ml but if it works, like it does, then it is worth it. I just wouldn't use it on an everyday basis just because of the price. You can find it online at Benefit here.

Revolution Skincare Face Off! Sparkle Peel Off Face Masks Review

If you read Kathryn's Loves often, you will know how much I love a face mask, so when I saw the Revolution Skincare Face Off! Sparkle Peel Off Face Masks, I was super excited to try them out. Especially seen as they are full of glitter, and plastic free glitter at that!
There are three varieties available, a Gold Sparkle, a Pink Sparkle and a Holographic Sparkle and each have different properties within them. You get 50ml per tube, which is plenty for multiple uses and at just £6.00 each, they are very affordable.

Gold Sparkle includes skin conditioning ingredients, such as Sodium Hyaluronate which can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water to help keep the skin hydrated and Rosa Damascena Flower Oil which has soothing and caring properties.
Pink Sparkle is a revitalising face mask and contains Fermented Papaya Extract which contains the enzyme papain, which is known to break down accumulated proteins on the surface of the skin and gently exfoliate away dead skin cells. It also includes Glycerin, which helps to moisturise and keep the skin hydrated.
Holographic Sparkle is an antioxidant mask and the formula includes ingredients such as Jasmine & Violet Extract, which has soothing and antioxidant properties, and Sodium Hyaluronate which as mentioned earlier can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water so that the skin is nice and juicy and doesn't dry out.
The masks are super easy to use, you simply apply to clean, dry skin, sit back and relax for about 20 minutes, and then gently peel the mask off. I find this part super satisfying and peel-off masks are definitely my favourite kind of face mask. Revolution Skincare recommends you use the masks about 1-2 times a week.

You can find the Revolution Skincare Face Off! Sparkle Peel Off Face Masks online at Revolution here.

Revolution Mood Skincare Collection Review

Revolution Skincare have just released a whole new collection - the Revolution Skincare Mood range, with four products for three moods - Angry, Stressed and Thirsty. I was kindly sent each and every product, so I wanted to give you the lowdown on each mood.
Starting with the Stressed Mood collection, there is the Mood Calming Cleansing Oil, the Mood Calming Overnight Face Mask, the Mood Calming Moisture Cream and the Mood Calming Skin Booster. The Mood Calming Cleansing Oil (£8.00 for 140ml) comes in a glass bottle, with a push-down applicator and is a blend of light, silky oils that help to gently cleanse and calm the skin, without leaving that tight feeling. The Mood Calming Moisture Cream (£10.00 for 50ml) s a soothing, comforting cream that helps to ensure the skin is hydrated and calm, containing Cannabis Sativa Oil to soothe and nourish, Korean Red Ginseng to smooth, Apricot Kernal Oil as an antioxidant and Ressurection Leaf Extract to calm the skin. The Mood Calming Skin Booster (£10.00 for 30ml) also comes in a glass bottle with a pipette applicator and these are booster drops that help to calm the skin and reduce redness and discomfort. They gently hydrate and nourish the skin for a healthier skin barrier and can be used both morning and night. There is also the Mood Calming Overnight Face Mask (£8.00 fir 50ml) which is a lightweight gel-cream that sinks into the skin and works overnight to calm it and leaving your skin feeling smooth, soothed and nourished and can also be used daily.
Moving on to the Angry Mood collection, this also starts with the Mood Soothing Cleansing Gel (£8.00 for 140ml) and all the packaging is the same as the Stressed Mood products, this time with a neon green accent. This is a gentle, lightly foaming cleanser that helps to remove excess sebum without stripping the skin or leaving it feeling tight and is the best collection for those with oily, acne-prone skin. The Mood Soothing Moisture Cream (£10.00 for 50ml) is a light and silky cream that soothes and hydrates the skin without clogging the pores or leaving a greasy residue. It contains Magnolia Bark Extract which is great for helping with acne and blemishes and Rice to soothe the skin. The Mood Soothing Skin Booster (£10.00 for 30ml) are booster drops to help soothe angry skin and reduce tightness and discomfort. The Skin Booster gently hydrates too, to leave the skin soft and supple, whilst also helping to fight blemishes. Finally, the Mood Soothing Face Mask (£8.00 for 50ml) is a cooling lightweight gel cream that quickly sinks into the skin, and helps to provide overnight relief and comfort to aggravated skin. A hero ingredient within this mask is Black Cumin Seed Extract, which is renowned for fighting bacteria, helping your skin to be much clearer and healthier.
The Thirsty Mood skincare collection is for those with dry skin types, and the Mood Quenching Cleansing Cream (£8.00 for 140ml) is a soft cream cleanser that is going to help remove dirt and impurities without leaving the skin feeling dry or stripped of moisture. It contains Green Sea Caviar to nourish the skin and Cannabis Sativa Oil to soothe and nourish to allow for comfortable skin. The Mood Quenching Moisture Gel (£10.00 for 50ml) is a lightweight and non-sticky gel formula that provides an instant layer of hydration to dried out skin. It can be used both morning and evening to keep skin hydrated. The Mood Quenching Skin Booster (£10.00 for 30ml) are silky drops that help to provide the skin with an instant hit of targeted hydration, and so if you suffer from particularly dry skin, these are going to rid the skin of that dryness and help it to feel and look a lot healthier. The Mood Quenching Face Mask (£8.00 for 50ml) is a lightweight gel cream that provides a silky veil of hydration, helping to quench thirsty skin throughout the night, so that you wake up with smoother, nourished skin. It contains Cactus Extract to moisturise the skin and Birch Water to keep it well-hydrated.
Each skincare regime within this collection costs just £36.00 if you were to buy all four items, which of course even includes a face mask, and at hundreds of other skincare brands, that would barely buy you one item. You also get a good amount of product in each container, which equals or exceeds the general skincare product sizes. I would definitely recommend checking these out. You can find them online at Revolution here.

Morphe 35I Icy Fantasy Eyeshadow Palette Review + Swatches

I bought the Morphe 35I Icy Fantasy Eyeshadow Palette whilst I was on a makeup buying ban. I tried so hard for weeks, but when I saw this palette, I knew it was right up my street as I love anything pastel-coloured, and this palette has it all. There's creams, brights, pastels, glitters, darks, shimmers, mattes, and I know I will get a lot of use out of it.
As a rule, I am not a fan of large palettes - I know you get a better selection of colours, but they don't fit in a makeup bag - even mine - for on the go, and they hide all my other palettes when I put them in a drawer. So, like I say, I did make a few exceptions to my rules when buying this palette and I adore the psychedelic pastel packaging!
The Morphe 35I Icy Fantasy Eyeshadow Palette is in collaboration with a makeup artist and YouTuber called Pony Park, and I won't lie, I don't know of her, but her Morphe collaboration is a good one. There are 40 shades in the palette and each column has a little colour story to it, so if you are new to makeup, then this will make it easier for you.
On to the shades...
Row 1
White Out - Matte bright white
Snow Glow - Shimmery pale gold
Wishful - Matte pale yellow
Flash Freeze - Icy cream with a green iridescent
Secret Escape - Matte blush pink
So Surreal - Icy white with pink iridescent
Spellbinding - Shimmery lilac
Row 2
Brrr-illiant - Icy white silk slip topper
Euphoria - Celestial blue silk slip topper
Echo - Matte light green
Thaw Yeah - Shimmery mint green
Chill Thrill - Matte mint green
Into The Blue - Matte sky blue
Dreamer - Matte vivid lavender
Row 3
Get Fresh - Matte light peach with sparkle
Coral Cloud - Matte light coral
Soar - Shimmering bright coral
Dazed - Shimmering apple green
Cold Snap - Shimmery icy blue
Below Zero - Matte light grey
Deliver Shiver - Matte mauve
Row 4
Imagine - Shimmery pale pink
Rosy Haze - Rose pink silk slip topper
Sky High - Matte salmon pink
Mystical - Holographic green silk slip topper
Starlit - Smoky gold silk slip topper
Arctic Abyss - Matte storm grey
Holothermia - Shimmering violet purple
Row 5
Hush - Matte taupe
Fierce Flurry - Shimmery champagne
Avalanche - Shimmering pink brown
Cosmic Cool - Shimmery silver purple
Frostbright - Silver glitter
Black Ice - Shimmering gunmetal
Charmed - Shimmery dark chocolate
I think with some brighter or pastel coloured palettes that sometimes you need to add other palettes or shadows with it to create a full eye look, but because of the variety included within this palette, with the matte taupe, the creams, and the more wearable champagnes and greys, this is a palette that you can get plenty of use from. The silk slip toppers are also lovely to use in the inner corners of the eyes as little highlighters, and you can of course change the look of the mattes or shimmers by using one of the toppers.
The shadows as a whole are well-pigmented, not at all chalky - I didn't experience any fall out - and very comfortable to wear. The Morphe 35I Icy Fantasy Eyeshadow Palette costs £24.00, which works out at around 60p a shadow, which is amazing value. You can find it online at Morphe here.

Revolution Pro New Neutral Satin Matte Lipsticks Review + Swatches

Revolution have gone lipstick crazy so far this year, and another new release from them is the Revolution Pro Neutral Satin Matte Lipstick in new season colours. There are eight shades to choose from and they are such a comfortable lipstick to wear. There is one more shade, Seclusion, which I haven't got here.
This new season collection has been specially formulated to provide an intense satin matte pigment, whilst still leaving the lips feeling well-nourished and moisturised. Not only is the formula comfortable to wear, but it is also long-lasting, so there is no need to keep reapplying!
The packaging is super cute - it has a soft pink and gold leopard print on both the cardboard packaging and the lipstick packaging and has to be one of my favourites. You get a good amount of product - 3.2g per lipstick and at just £5.99 each, these are such a good price, allowing you to buy a few shades for the price of one you may find at a department store counter.
Onto the shades, and this new season collection of eight includes...

* Latte - Light brown nude
* Plush - Dark oxblood red
* Reveal - Salmon pink nude
* Rumba - Warm nude
* Struck - Muted magenta pink
* Tease - Dusky rose pink
* Undress - Light nude
(Bottom to Top: Latte, Plush, Reveal, Rumba, Struck, Tease, Undress)

I would just say to check the sample lipsticks available in store, or take a look at swatches online as the colour on the box of the lipstick is a little different to the actual shade. My personal favourite shades include Latte and Undress as they are the perfect everyday shades, but I also love Reveal and Struck. Reveal really suits my colouring, whilst Struck will be great for when I have a little colour on my skin.

You can find the Revolution Pro New Neutral Satin Matte Lipsticks online at Revolution here.

Pat McGrath Eye Ecstasy Sublime Eye Shadow Palette + Mini Lip Fetish Lip Balm Trio Review + Swatches

I didn't get a whole bunch of presents for Christmas as I preferred to have spending money for Orlando in December, but a couple of makeup items that I did receive are the Pat McGrath Eye Ecstasy Sublime Eye Shadow Palette and the Pat McGrath Mini Lip Fetish Lip Balm Trio. Pat McGrath makeup items are pretty pricey, but these two seemed to be much more reasonable to me, due to them not being full-sized.
The Pat McGrath Eye Ecstasy Sublime Eye Shadow Palette isn't full sized as I just mentioned, but you still get a good amount of product inside, and whoever finishes an eye shadow palette anyway?! Both items come in the most gorgeous packaging, full of gold sequins, and the palette itself is a frosted plastic, so it isn't as luxe as their larger palettes, but it still looks pretty cool. There are five shadows included in this palette, and they are all metallic. You receive an antique gold, a chocolate brown, a rose gold, a rusty red and a lighter brown. The formula is so buttery, and if you haven't tried out Pat McGrath's eyeshadow formula before, then this is a great place to start. Just one swipe gives you the full effect, and these really are super gorgeous eyeshadows. The Eye Ecstasy Sublime Palette costs £22.00, which compared to the full sized palettes at £115.00, this is a really good buy. There is also another colour option, which includes bright colours, which I think would be stunning for Spring and Summer. I am so glad I received this, as I do have a larger quad palette, and they are honestly one of the best shadow formulas on the market, and the shades are often so unique.
The second gift I received is the Pat McGrath Mini Lip Fetish Lip Balm Trio, which again comes in amazing packaging, full of glittery sequins. You receive two sheer colour balms and one clear balm, however the sheer colour still gives plenty of coverage in my opinion. There is Blow Up, a peachy nude and Flesh 3, more of a reddy nude shade - I am terrible at describing colours! The Lip Balms come in white packaging, with the gold Pat McGrath lip accent which is featured on all of their lip products. For a full-sized lipstick from Pat McGrath, you are looking at £37.00 each, however this trio costs just £19.00, so once again it is a great introductory set if you are new to the brand. The Balms are super creamy and soft on the lips, and as soon as you apply them, your lips feel so much more nourished and hydrated. You can also get gloss trios, and matte lipstick trios for the same price and I definitely think I will be picking another set up.
You can find Pat McGrath online here.

Valentine's Day Beauty

However you are celebrating Valentine's Day this year, whether it be solo, with a loved one, with family, or with friends, I have collated some beautiful Valentine's Day inspired beauty products.
Starting with the skin, we have the new Garnier Micellar Rose Water Cleanse & Glow* (£6.99 for 400ml). This cleanser both removes makeup and encourages a healthy glow to the skin, removing impurities and dirt while brightening dull and sensitive skin types. Rose Water is known for its brightening properties, and is infused into this formula with a gorgeous scent, whilst Micelles are cleansing agents that capture makeup and grime like a magnet and lift them away from the skin, leaving you with a good skin day everyday. You can find it online at Boots here.
If like me, you love a good face mask, I highly recommend trying the Garnier Fruit AHA Shot Fresh-Mix Tissue Mask* (£3.99). Inside the sachet you get a tissue mask and then the other half of the sachet contains 30ml of serum, which you then mix in with the mask. That amount of serum is incredible and it will help to hydrate the skin, leaving it feeling suppler and smoother. This Mask is suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skins, and they do offer other skin type masks. You can find it online at Boots here.
Seen as it is Valentine's Day, I thought I must include a lip mask too, so we have the bubu Skincare #youpucker Lip Plumping Mask* (£5.00). This shimmering gel lip plumping mask delivers key active ingredients and a powerful shot of hydration to the lips, leaving them feeling fuller and fabulous. The key ingredients include Botox, a cosmetic grade approved ingredient, and Hyaluronic Acid, which nourishes and hydrates the delicate lip area. You can find it online at Pretty Little Thing here.
Because I am mask crazy, I also wanted to include a hair mask to get those locks extra luscious, so we have the Cake Beauty The Smooth Move Moisture Melt Hair Mask* (£2.99 for 50ml). This ultra-luxe hair mask contains butters and oils to replenish missing moisture and restore your hair to its very best. Cake recommend leaving this mask on for around 5 minutes, but if you have the time, take a bubble bath and leave it on for longer and once rinsed off, it will leave you with super soft hair. You can find it online at Boots here.
I am a Beauty Blender lover, but I recently tried the Revolution Foundation & Setting Sponge Set* (£8.00), which includes one blender sponge for applying and blending foundation and a unique flocked textured sponge with a flat surface, which is great for setting and baking makeup. The Setting Sponge is the winner of this duo for me, as it feels so soft, and I also like to wet it and use it as a foundation sponge too. Plus, I love anything pastel-coloured, so this baby pink hue is super pretty. You can find it online at Revolution here.
To set your foundation into place, I recommend the Jurlique Rose Silk Finishing Powder* (£29.00 for 10g), especially if you love anything rose-scented. This lovely compact contains a mirror on the inside of the lid, a setting sponge and then of course the Finishing Powder itself. This translucent powder has a lightweight and silky texture which helps to give a softer, smoother complexion and of course keeps your makeup in place throughout the day. The formula contains herbal extracts of Rosemary and Sage to help rebalance oiliness, too, so is therefore suitable for all skin types. You can find it online at Jurlique here.
At the time of writing this post, my next two products are not currently available in the UK, as I bought them over in Orlando in December, but they are just SO Valentine's Day I just had to include them. First we have the Physician's Formula Rose All Day Petal Glow in the shade Freshly Picked. The packaging is so lovely, and the light gold-toned highlighter has been moulded into a rose shape too. It gives the skin a very pretty glow and I hope they release it over here soon.
The second item is the Physician's Formula Rose All Day Mascara, which also has that sweet pink and white packaging like the Highlighter. This mascara has a natural bristled brush and will add both volume and length to the lashes, so you can flutter them to your heart's content. The mascara also contains a lash lifting blend of oils, so it will help to nourish and lift the lashes at the same time. I like that the brush isn't too large on this mascara, as I have quite short, straight and fine lashes, so sometimes I need a smaller brush to catch every lash.
Because I don't have the best natural lashes, I do like to wear false lashes for special occasions, and the Ardell Magnetic Liner & Lash Kit (£17.99) is such a great kit. If you struggle putting lashes on, then this is the kit for you! You simply apply the magnetic gel liner, which is black, and then apply the lashes on top of that, with no glue required! You don't have to wait for the liner to dry, you don't get messy fingertips and they slip onto the liner so easily, that they are perfect for beginners or pros. You can find them at Superdrug here.
On to the lips, and I have been loving the Dr PawPaw Scrub & Nourish* (£8.95). This handy little pot of lip-loving goodness is a 2-in-1 product, so you receive a lip scrub on top, and the Original Dr PawPaw Balm on the bottom. There is a delicious mango and coconut scent to this product and it contains 100% natural ingredients, including PawPaw to nourish the lips, Olive Oil to hydrate them, and Aloe Vera to soothe. Your lips are going to be in perfect condition ready for all that kissing! You can find this handy duo online at Dr PawPaw here.
A brand new release from one of my favourite beauty brands is the IT Cosmetics Pillow Lips Lipsticks* (£20.00 each), which come in a Matte or Cream formula. Here I have two of the Cream formula lipsticks, in the shade Wink, a warm coral pink, and Vision, a great everyday nude. These are full pigment lipsticks and one swipe gives you amazing coverage and colour. The formula includes a Tri-Oil Complex and Collagen, to help minimise the appearance of fine lines, helping the lips to appear fuller and plumper. They are so comfortable to wear, and the cushion-like packaging is adorable! You can find them online at IT Cosmetics here.
If a bolder lip is more your thing, then check out the Milani Bold Matte Lipstick in the shade I Am Motivated* (£9.95). The Milani Bold Matte Lipsticks are long-wearing and very rich in pigment. Even though this is a matte lipstick, it is very comfortable to wear and not at all drying on the lips. Milani claim it can last up to 8 hours, and so it doesn't matter how much kissing you're going to be doing, your lips will still look amazing! You can find Milani online at Beauty Bay here, where there are a total of 17 colourful shades to choose from.
Finally, on to the nails, and I just had to include these two super sweet Mavala Nail Colour Cream Polishes* (£5.50 each for 5ml). These are little bottles that pack a punch, and who ever uses a full bottle of nail polish anyway? I chose beautiful soft pink nudes, Rose Shell and Rose. They both have a pearlescent finish to them, and will give you ultra-feminine nails in just a few minutes. You can find Mavala online at Fenwick's here.
