May Favourites 2019

Friday 31 May 2019

May has been a busy month for me, and I have definitely welcomed the lighter nights and warmer weather, even if it was sprinkled with a little rain. This month's favourites mainly include makeup, but there are a few other products mixed in as well. Here are my May monthly favourites...
I received the Show Premiere Finishing Spray in a beauty box and I have been using it quite a lot as I have had my hair up quite a bit this month. The packaging is stunning, and the lid looks like it has come from a fine perfume bottle. This Finishing Spray feels pretty weightless when you are wearing it but managed to keep my stray hairs in place. This does cost £30.00 for 255ml, which is pricey there is no doubt about that, but as well as being a Finishing Spray, it contains AC Kerazyme to protect the hair against the intense heat of thermal styling and I love it when products do a job but also protect the hair or skin. You can find it online at Feel Unique here.
I love the Missguided fragrances, and so when I saw they had released brand new body mists I was over the moon. There are four fragrances available and they cost just £10.00 for 290ml, which I think is excellent value for days when you don't want to use an expensive perfume, or for travelling when you don't want to take a glass bottle on holiday. Here I have the Missguided Instant Feels Body Mist*, which to me smells just like Summer, with notes of raspberry, bergamot, patchouli, and sweet vanilla as well as other fruits such as strawberry and mandarin. You can find them online at Missguided here.
Whilst looking for a particular makeup item, which you will find out about further down, I discovered that you can now get a large variety of skincare and makeup delivered to the UK from Amazon.com and so I placed an order. One of the things I got was the St Ives Radiant Skin Pink Lemon & Mandarin Orange Scrub. Now, I am sure you can get this in the UK, but the packaging was pretty and pink and Amazon suggested I add this to my basket so it was a last minute addition. I adore that this is a creamy scrub so it isn't too abrasive and the scent is just so invigorating, it is such a pleasure to use. It doesn't do anything fancy, but is a great exfoliating scrub that leaves my skin feeling refined and super smooth. It cost $3.15 (£2.47) and you can find it on Amazon.com here.
Moving on to makeup, and Benefit recently released a jumbo version of their Hoola Bronzer, and you get double the amount of product (16g) for £38.00. I bought it because I haven't tried Hoola for a good couple of years now and I never did care much for the smaller box they had it in before. I much prefer the larger pan it now comes in as it gives you more room to swirl your brush around. Nothing new colour or formula wise, but I wanted to include it in case you are looking for a new bronzer as it is certainly one of the best. I got mine from Feel Unique online here.
I have really terrible brows and so I am always looking for the next amazing brow product. I picked up the NYX Fill & Fluff Eyebrow Pomade Pencil in the shade Ash Brown and I have been loving it. On one end, you ave the pomade pencil, which is shaped a little like a teardrop so you get a good angle on it, and on the other end, there is the most adorable little eyebrow brush. Now I haven't seen a brush like this on a brow product before, as normally you get a spooly, and I love this softer version of a brush to fluff the product and the brows out to get a natural look. There are eight shades available and it costs £10.00 which I find really good value as you get quite a lot of product included. You can find it online at NYX here.
One of the main products I was searching for on Amazon.com is the Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder. This has been out for YEARS in America and my favourite You Tuber Tati Westbrook swears by it. It only comes in Translucent and you get a great whopping tub of it so it will last such a long time. It does come with a fluffy powder puff, but I prefer to use it with a big makeup brush and it really is such a great product. It only costs $5.85 (£4.59) and it sets my makeup in place all day long as well as keeping my T-Zone free of shine. It does have an old-fashioned fragrance to it, but I quite like that. You can find it online at Amazon.com here.
Whilst browsing in Superdrug, I spotted the I Heart Revolution Donut Eyeshadow Palettes. They come in different shade ranges and I chose the Raspberry Icing colourway. The packaging is super cute and has a 3D squishy donut on the top, and then you open it up to reveal five eyeshadow shades. There is a mirror on the inside of the lid, and then three matte and two shimmer eyeshadows with a pink and mauve colour theme. They cost £5.00 which I don't think is bad value at all, as they are unlike anything I have previously come across and the shadows are really well-pigmented. You can find them online at Revolution here.
Another product I ordered from Amazon.com is the Almay Powder Blush in the shade 10 Pink. This cute compact opens up from the top and from the bottom, which houses a mirror and a good quality brush. The blush itself is made up of four different shades of pink, and a couple of the shades also have a slight shimmer to them. Therefore you can either swirl your brush in all four of the shades, or pick a particular one, and I also found that these are great for eye shadows too. The pan has a star print embossed on to it and I love trying brands that are not available over here. It costs $7.66 (£6.01) which I think is a good price for such a lovely blusher and you can find it online at Amazon.com here, where there are also other shades available.
For some reason Gucci have stopped selling their makeup online in the UK, which I am pretty gutted about, but I recently spotted the Gucci Infinite Precision Liner online at TK Maxx. I think I paid about £12.99 and I am pretty sure it would have been double that on the Gucci site - gotta love TK Maxx. This gel eyeliner is in the shade 020 Cocoa, which is a nice medium brown, and I have wanted a brown gel eyeliner for a while now as I am quite light-skinned and so black can look a little intense on 'no makeup makeup' days. The packaging is cute and very Gucci and the eyeliner works a treat, and considering you could pay the same for a drugstore brand, I feel happy with my bargain. You can find all the beauty bargains online at TK Maxx here.
If you have been here a while you may know that I always wear the Lancome Cils Booster XL Lash Primer, but it isn't the cheapest and I go through a lot of them, so I am always looking for an everyday alternative. I have recently been enjoying the Maybelline Colossal Big Shot Base Mascara, which is a tinted fibre primer for the lashes. This product is collagen-enriched to help create thicker lashes before mascara application and also helps to prime the lashes for a long-wearing finish. It feels super lightweight on the lashes and doesn't clump or harden and flake off. It costs £6.99 which is definitely cheaper than the Lancome and you can find it online at Feel Unique here.
On top of the Maybelline Base Mascara I have been using the Revlon Volumazing Mascara, which is a fairly new release. I will say straight off the bat that this isn't a revolutionary mascara, but I have enjoyed wearing this during the week for work as it does add volume to my lashes without getting clumpy or smudging off. The formula feels very lightweight which I love and it also separates my lashes really well, including my lower lashes. The formula contains Carnauba and Olive waxes which condition the lashes whilst you are wearing it which helps to keep them tip top which will in turn help them to grow. The Volumazing Mascara costs £8.99 and you can find it online at Look Fantastic here.
My second to last May Favourite is the Almay #LipVibes Lipstick in the shade Skip the Gym, which I believe is from a collection they did. The packaging is bang on-trend with palm leaves and tropical flowers and the shade Skip the Gym is a pretty Summery coral shade with a gold iridescent shift to it. The formula is super creamy and whilst it isn't the most pigmented lipstick in the world, it is a pretty addition to your Summer makeup collection as the shimmer will look stunning with a tan. It costs $5.67 (£4.45) and you can find it online amongst other colours at Amazon.com here.
I adore the Physicians Formula Butter products and so also on my Amazon.com order was the Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Lip Cream in the shade Brazilian Sunset. Now this is definitely one of the creamiest lip products I have ever tried, and you get a good chunky amount of product. To say it is quite heavily a lip care product, the coverage and pigment is incredible and far betters some much more expensive lipsticks I have tried in the past. There are lots of other shades so I am definitely going to be ordering some more in the future, but Brazilian Sunset is a gorgeous coral-terracotta shade perfect for a pop of colour in the warmer months. They cost $6.36 (£4.99) which isn't bad for such a buttery soft lip product. You can find it online at Amazon.com here.

IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Cream Rosy Tone Review

Thursday 30 May 2019

IT Cosmetics' Confidence In A Cream has a new baby sister, the IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Cream Rosy Tone and it is certainly worth a try. This Cream is not suitable for all skin tones, but if you have normal to dry skin, or ageing skin, then this will be great for you.
The IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Cream Rosy Tone provides plenty of hydration whilst also gently exfoliating the skin and promoting cell renewal, so that your skin looks fresher. Skin renewal can take 4-6 weeks regularly, and when that is speeded up, it means that our skin is renewing, and therefore looking fresher and newer. If you suffer from a dull complexion, then thank to the rosy tone pigments in this cream, they are going to boost that from the first use and give your complexion a healthy glow.
There is a slight floral fragrance to the Cream, but I don't find it offensive or overly strong and rose normally isn't my number one scent. The Cream comes in a pretty pink glass jar and you get 60ml of product. Texture-wise, I found the Cream quite dense, but as soon as you apply it onto the skin, it melts instantly and a little goes a super long way. I discovered that there was no oily or greasy residue left over on my skin after use, which was a definitely plus for me.
Whilst using the IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Cream Rosy Tone, I have found that the rosy tone has worked so well at hiding my discolouration and minimising my pores, which was always such a pain in the butt for me, and because of that natural glow, I feel I do have the confidence to have days where I don't wear any makeup. If you do like to apply your moisturiser before makeup, then due there being no leftover residue, you definitely won't have a problem using this Cream.

Ingredients-wise, you will find Iris Root, Peony Extract, Aloe Leaf Jice, Squalane, Chickpea Extract, Lipohydroxy Acid and other skin-loving ingredients. Squalane is great for hydrating and soothing the skin, so if like me you have redness or sensitivity, this moisturiser is going to be great for that. The IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Cream Rosy Tone costs £39.00 but as I mentioned you do get 60ml of product and it really does last a long time. You can find it online at IT Cosmetics here.

Jouer Springtime In Paris Eyeshadow Review + Swatches

Wednesday 29 May 2019

I haven't tried many products from makeup brand Jouer before and so when I saw the Jouer Springtime In Paris Eyeshadow Palette online, I thought it sounded divine. The Palette comes in pretty nude and gold packaging and the colour range is quite diverse.
As you open up the palette, there is a mirror on the inside of the lid, and then twelve eye shadows in the base of the palette. There are a mixture of matte and shimmer shadows within this palette and I must admit, given the name, Springtime In Paris, I did expect something generally a little lighter. You get four lighter shades and then the other eight are really quite dark and cool toned. Yes, I did see the palette online, but the pictures there made the palette seem different, and so I was a little taken aback about this, but it is still a great palette, just not particularly very Spring-like.
The shades inside the palette are;
Creme - Warm vanilla matte
Petal - Ballet pink matte
Mauve - Warm medium mauve matte
Aubergine - Warm mauve-purple matte
True Gold - Metallic light gold
Camel - Light brown matte
Midnight - Mid-blue shimmer
Rouge - Pink-red shimmer
Cinnamon - Chestnut brown shimmer
Ash Brown - Dark brown matte
Amethyst - Cool-toned purple matte
Slate - Black-grey matte
Some of the darker shades did take some building up, but the lighter shades are super creamy and really well pigmented. I think I would have quite happily have had a quad made from Creme, Petal, True Gold and Camel as they are definitely my favourite shades and are really pretty and buildable. The blurb says that the palette was inspired by the cherry blossoms in Paris, but I just really don't see that, and I would use this more during the Winter months.
The Jouer Springtime In Paris Eyeshadow Palette costs £35.00 which works out at £2.92 a shadow which isn't too bad when you work it out like that. You can find it online at Beauty Bay here.

Back To MAC - Get Free Lipsticks!

Tuesday 28 May 2019

Not many people talk about Back to MAC anymore, which is a shame as it is a great service. When you have six empty lipstick containers or eye shadow pots, you simply take them back to a MAC store or concession and you can claim a free lipstick. I had lots of MAC single eye shadows and so I bought some of the MAC empty palettes and put the pans from the pots into those. Therefore I ended up with lots of empty pots.
I took them to my nearest MAC concession, which is at Debenhams in Meadowhall, Sheffield and I managed to be able to choose four new lipsticks. The only thing is that you aren't allowed the cardboard packaging which they come in, so you couldn't gift or re-sell the lipstick. There are so many MAC lipsticks, and I definitely have quite the collection at home, but I managed to pick four lipsticks which I don't already own.
The four shades I chose are Fabby, Shrimpton, Lovelorn and Speed Dial. Fabby has the Frost finish to it and it is a Mauve shade with a pink pearl finish. Shrimpton is from the Satin range and is a great everyday nude shade, and I think this is actually my joint favourite nude with Blankety. Lovelorn has a Lustre finish and is an emotive blue-toned pink, which makes for a great everyday shade. Finally, Speed Dial has a Cremesheen finish and is a light blue-toned pink, which I think works really well for Spring and Summer. When a shade is blue-toned, it means that it isn't going to make your teeth have a yellow tone to them, as the blue tone helps to whiten the appearance rather then darken it.
I am really pleased with the colours I chose, as I think they all make great Spring and Summer shades. Each MAC lipstick costs £17.50, so I got £70.00 of MAC makeup for free, simply by taking my empty pots into store! You can find MAC online here.

IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Gel Lotion Review

Monday 27 May 2019

IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Gel Lotion is a fairly new release for the American skincare brand. This is a product which is going to give you the super duper hydrating benefits of a heavier cream, but in a light gel lotion.
The IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Gel Lotion comes in a 75ml bottle that looks fairly standard for a skincare product and has an easy-to-use pump dispenser. This lightweight gel moisturiser is infused with ceramides, glycerin and cactus flower extract to help smooth the appearance of fine lines and leave your skin looking radiant. When I first tried the Gel Lotion it felt a little like a primer to me, a perhaps like the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, but it was a lot more moisturising and it sunk into my skin instantly. I thought that might be because my skin is a little dry, but I even tried it on my hand and it disappeared pretty much as soon as I applied it.
Sometimes when I apply moisturiser in a morning, my makeup doesn't sit right as it can sometimes be a little oily, but with this I don't even need a regular primer as my makeup applies beautifully on top of it. IT Cosmetics state that this provides moisture up to 72 hours, but as I am pretty strict with my skincare routine, I applied this both morning and night so I never went too long without application to test that claim out. I have combination skin with a little redness on the cheeks, and I found this moisturiser to suit my skin really well, and it felt especially soothing and calming on the sensitivity on my cheeks.
When you first dispense the product, it does feel quite thick like the Smashbox Primer, but once you massage it into the skin it feels like silk it is that soft, and as it sinks into the skin straightaway you can't feel the product at all, so this is a super lightweight moisturiser, which for me is perfect as I hate feeling the heaviness of a cream during the day. My cheeks are the area where I get the most dryness and even after just a couple of uses, they look a lot healthier and almost plumper and they no longer feel dry or irritable.

The IT Cosmetics Confidence In A Gel Lotion costs £30.00 for 75ml which for a moisturiser from a top skincare brand I think is a great deal. Plus, you only need to use a small amount due to the texture so this is going to keep you well hydrated for a good while. You can find the Gel Lotion online at IT Cosmetics here.

It's Skin Tiger Cica Calming Water Review

Sunday 26 May 2019

I have tried out quite a few of the It's Skin skincare products recently, and was asked if I would like to try the It's Skin Tiger Cica Calming Water, which with the calming aspect, thought it would be great for Summer which can sometimes dry out or sensitise our skin.
For those new to the brand, It's Skin is a K-Beauty brand with a difference. As Korea's first cosmeceutical brand at a reasonable price, they take science seriously but don't mind having a little fun on the side too. It's Skin produce cute packaging and high-end clinical formulas that really work.

The It's Skin Tiger Cica Calming Water is a water-based soothing toner which contains 64% Centella Asiatica extract to calm, balance and hydrate the skin. If you suffer from breakouts, irritability or sensitive skins, then this is going to be a great skincare choice for you. The Calming Water comes in really cool packaging, and the bottle itself has a very clean look to it, with a pretty mint green colour. You receive 200ml of the toner, which is about average for this kind of skincare product.

Centella Asiatica is a medicinal herb grown on Madagascar Island and is the star ingredient in the Tiger Cica range (they also offer a cleanser and a serum), due to its skin soothing properties. It has previously been known as the Tiger herb due to the fact that tigers would roll around in the plant to help heal their wounds, so this Toner is great for treating any irritation and redness on the skin.
The bottle has a screw-off lid which I found easy to use, and there is a slight, fresh scent to the Calming Water, and I found that it didn't irritate my sensitivity, so there is no need to worry about the delicate fragrance. The Tiger Cica range is formulated with gentle, skin calming ingredients and a weak-acid pH which helps the maintain healthy skin. I use this both morning and night by popping some onto a cotton pad and swiping across my face, neck and decolletage after cleansing.

The It's Skin Tiger Cica Calming Water costs £22.99 for 200ml which is more than you would pay for a drugstore Toner, but as this has such excellent qualities to it, I feel it is definitely worth the price. You can find it online at Beauty Mart here.

NARS Climax Mascara Review

Saturday 25 May 2019

NARS have recently been trickling through some new releases, and one which I was excited to try was the NARS Climax Mascara (oh NARS, you and your naughty names!). As a brand, I find NARS always looks like it belongs backstage at a large runway show or something like that as their packaging looks simple and straight to the point and I haven't tried a NARS product which I haven't enjoyed.
NARS Climax Mascara has been marketed to give explosive volume, a hardcore lift, a softcore feel with a featherweight touch and no clumping or smudging. So, my thoughts...The packaging is original NARS except they have gone for a glossy red tube instead of their usual matte black packaging. I expected the tube to be quite weighty, but it is very lightweight, so that's great for travelling with and so on.
When I first looked at the big thick fluffy brush, I was a little apprehensive as sometimes these brushes can be a little difficult to use and to get a full coverage with, however I found the wand easy to use and had very little product on my eyelids after application. I do have quite hooded eyelids and so sometimes I do get quite a lot of mascara on them. The formula of Climax feels really lightweight yet ever so slightly creamy and it is perfect for layering, especially if like me you weren't blessed in the lash department.
I love how this mascara curls the lashes, it is definitely one of the best mascaras I have tried for curling and lifting them, and I found that they stayed curled throughout the day rather than drooping back down like they so often do. Due to it having such a lightweight formula, I was able to build the layers without there being any clumping on the lashes, just leaving them really defined and I had sort of a fanned-out effect which looked natural but still kick-ass.

NARS is a higher-end beauty brand and so the NARS Climax Mascara does come in at £21.00, but I think that when you find a mascara that really works for you, this sort of price isn't too bad. Plus, drugstore mascaras range from £10-15.00 nowadays and so I find it quite reasonable on the grand scale of things.

You can find the NARS Climax Mascara online at NARS here.

Primark's £4 Eyeshadow Palettes Review

Friday 24 May 2019

In the last year or two Primark have really upped their beauty game, and now have dedicated areas in their stores that are full of skincare, hair care, tools, makeup and much more. I have discovered some really great products at Primark since their beauty release and they are super affordable. When I recently visited my local store I discovered they had brought out some new £4 eyeshadow palettes so I thought I would see if they were any good or not.
I have three palettes here, but there are more in the collection, however I thought I would get the most use out of these shades. The packaging is fine, and although you don't get a mirror or a brush included, the palette is still pretty sturdy. The three I chose are Tropical Storm, Wild Love and Gold Rush.
When swatching the shadows for this post, I did realise that some of the shades were either the same or very similar between the palettes, and so on reflection maybe I didn't need all three of them, but at £4 each it isn't too much of a mistake on my part. All three of the palettes house 12 eye shadows each and contain both matte and shimmery finishes.
Colour-wise I think Wild Love has to be my favourite, as it has a good selection of oranges, nudes, golds and shimmers, with Tropical Storm being my least favourite as the colours really are quite random and don't really go together very well. With regards to the pigmentation, both Gold Rush and Wild Love wore very well and had a good depth to them for the price, but Tropical Storm was terrible. I had to really struggle to get any colour pay-off from the palette and found it very disappointing considering how impressed I have been with Primark's eye shadows in the past.
If you are looking for a lighter gold and nude palette for Spring and Summer then I would definitely recommend Gold Rush as it has some really pretty shades in it, whereas Wild Love will work great with a tan or during Autumn when we tend to wear warmer shades. Overall, I would say those two palettes are definitely worth picking up, but leave Tropical Storm well alone.

You can find these palettes in-store at Primark.

Schmidt's Natural Body Care Review

Thursday 23 May 2019

My favourite You Tuber is Tati Westbrook (Glam Life Guru) and she talks a lot about natural products as she has a vast knowledge of ingredients in makeup, skincare and body care. One product she mentioned last year was Schmidt's Natural Deodorants, but at the time the products were only available in the US. I recently received an email from a UK PR company stating that Schmidt's was now available in the UK - Hurrah! Would I like to try some of their products? Absolutely!
Schmidt's was creating in 2010 by Jaime Schmidt who set about making a natural deodorant that not only worked but that smelt great too. They prioritised ingredients that are derived from nature when developing their formulas, from activated charcoal to volcanic sands and they look to innovative botanicals and mineral-derived ingredients. The entire Schmidt's range is produced without harming any animals and they are certified vegan and cruelty-free.
The products currently available in the Schmidt's range are Signature Stick Formula Deodorants, Sensitive Stick Formula Deodorants, Tooth+Mouth Paste and Natural Bar Soaps. I was kindly sent two deodorants with the Signature Stick Formula and one of the Natural Bar Soaps. The Schmidt's Signature Stick Formula Deodorant retails at £8.00 each and is available in four different scents. The ones I have here are Rose + Vanilla and Cedarwood + Juniper. Rose + Vanilla combines a heavenly bouquet of rose with hints of sweet, powdery vanilla to create a luxurious and elegant aroma, whereas Cedarwood + Juniper mixes the musky, peppery scent of juniper with the strong and sweet cedarwood edge, giving a warm and woody combination. This formula uses high-quality, effective natural ingredients to help neutralise odour and keep you fresh, naturally. Schmidt's Signature Sticks are free of aluminium, propylene glycol, parabens and phthalates. I found the Deodorant Sticks to be non-greasy and not at all 'wet' once applied to my underarms. They kept me feeling dry all day and the scent lasts throughout the day without being overpowering. The Cedarwood + Juniper scent is definitely my favourite as I love musky, woody fragrances and I think men would really like this one too.
Moving on to the Schmidt's Natural Bar Soaps, they retail at £6.00 each and are currently available in four different scents - Bergamot + Lime, Activated Charcoal, Rose + Vanilla and Cedarwood + Juniper. I have Bergamot + Lime, and I am definitely going to be getting the Deodorant version of this as it smells incredible - the freshness is the perfect morning wake-up call. The Schmidt's Natural Bar Soaps are aromatic, luxurious and full of moisture, and the plant and mineral based formula can be used on both the face and body and include natural exfoliating agents such as vanilla bean, orange peel and volcanic sand. The Soaps are pretty weighty, and will therefore last you quite a long time, and they are free of synthetic foaming agents, so that they create a natural rich, sudsy lather to make your cleaning routine super luxurious. It is obvious that these products are slightly more expensive than products you would find in the supermarkets and drugstores but they contain natural ingredients that are going to benefit you so much more than those cheaper products. As a female, I would much prefer to use natural deodorants rather than ones containing aluminium.

You can find Schmidt's Natural Body Care products online at Ocado here.

Father's Day Gift Guide 2019

Wednesday 22 May 2019

Father's Day will be here soon on June 16th and so to give you plenty of ideas, I have created a 2019 Gift Guide.
Men are getting into skincare which is great, but some skincare can be quite feminine, whereas Bioderma has some great products suitable for all. Here I have the Bioderma Micellar Water (£10.80)* and the Rich Moisturising Care Cream (£15.50)*. The Micellar Water is perfect for cleansing the skin and is very gentle to use, so it works great for all skin types. It helps to make the skin feel comfortable and locks moisture into the surface of the skin. If your Dad hasn't used a moisturiser before, the Rich Moisturising Care Cream is a great first choice and is perfect for dry to very dry skin types to keep skin well-nourished and hydrated.
The Great British Grooming Co. offer a wide range of body, face and beard products for your favourite person. They have a Hydrating Moisturiser (£7.41)* to hydrate dry, dull looking skin, a Daily Face Wash (£7.99)* which contains Volcanic Ash to cleanse the skin and wash away impurities, a Beard Wash (£6.17)* which helps to cleanse and untangle beard hair, a Beard Oil (£8.69)* to soften and smooth the beard, and a Beard Thickening Serum (£7.99)* to help create a thicker looking beard. So if your Dad loves his skincare and facial hare care, then this is definitely a brand you will want to consider and all the products are made in the UK.
My Dad absolutely loves his whiskey and the Corkcicle Whiskey Wedge* is such a fabulous idea! It comes beautifully presented in a gift box and it allows you to create a wedge of ice in the glass which is slow melting and therefore you don't get watered-down whiskey, but you still get to enjoy it 'on the rocks'. It is so easy to use too, it comes with a silicone lid, which you pour water into and then pop it in the freezer and then simply remove the silicone lid, pour in your tipple of choice and sit back and relax. It costs £20.00 and is available at Amazon here.
Due to medication he has to take, my Dad gets quite sore hands, but again, a lot of hand creams have quite feminine scents to them. The Le Couvent Des Minimes Gardinarius Gardener's Hand Balm (£8.00)* is a great option. It comes in a classy box and the tube itself is silver and black. The Hand Balm smells divine and contains shea butter, chamomile, calendula and rosemary to hydrate and nourish the hands without leaving a sticky or greasy residue. You can find it online at Look Fantastic here.
Sometimes my Dad comes downstairs and he smells like he has fallen into his aftershave, he loves it that much. Fragrance can be a great Father's Day gift and you simply cannot go wrong with a luxury scent. The Armani Code Absolu (£71.00)* is stunning, with an oriental feel to it due to an audacious rum heart balanced with a blend of Tonka bean and vanilla notes. It smells masculine and luxurious and a little goes a long way due to it being a parfum rather than an eau de toilette and it has the highest percentage of essential oils from the Armani Code range. The bottle is masculine and sleek with a black cap and a gold base and this will definitely make my Dad super happy.
I bloody love pork scratchings, and they are often seen as a pub snack eaten by men, but I still love them anyway, and so does my Dad. The Snaffling Pig Co make the best pork scratchings I have come across as they are just so full of flavour, the Salt & Vinegar ones are my absolute favourite but I can't currently find them anywhere. The Snaffling Pig Co do these Gifting Jars* for £15.50 and here I have the Ham & Colman's Mustard flavour, and they make a great gift if your Dad isn't in to skincare or hair care. They also have lots of different flavours to choose from and you can even add a bottle of beer or a cookbook!
At 68 years of age, my Dad still has a good head full of hair, and he doesn't even have that many grey hairs, but he is noticing that it is starting to go a little thinner texture-wise. The Bumble & Bumble Full Potential Shampoo (£24.00)* & Conditioner (£26.00)* helps to give fuller, stronger hair and the Hair Preserve blend it contains helps to prevent hair loss. They also do a Booster Spray (£42.00)* that offers a more concentrated formula of the Hair Preserve blend, which comes in a bottle and you just spray it onto wet or dry hair twice a day so it is quick and easy to use. For younger Dads, who have longer hair, and seeing as texture is all the rage at the moment, I would recommend the Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray (£20.00)*. This can be used by both men and women and it is a salt spray to give beachy, windswept waves and volume. I have used this product for years and especially love using it in Summer - what's better than a gift we can both use?!
My Dad does have an electric shaver, but sometimes he prefers to use regular shavers and so the Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 Sense Razor* is a great option. It is perfect for sensitive skin and contains 7 hydro glide gel pools to ensure a smooth and comfortable shave. The Hydro 5 Sense features shock absorb technology so that there are no shaving cuts and rubber handles to make sure it is comfortable to use. You can of course buy refills for this razor and if your Dad is going on holiday, I am sure he will much prefer to take this kind of razor than a more expensive electric one. The Hydro 5 Sense costs £12.00 and you can find it in-store and online at Boots here.
At my favourite spa, Ye Olde Bell Spa in Retford, they use Germaine de Capuccini skincare products, which always smell and feel divine. They do also offer skincare for men, along with a fragrance. The Germaine de Capuccini Noir Eau De Parfum (£72.00)* comes stylishly packaged and is a subtle but masculine fragrance. Due to it being an eau de parfum, you only need a small amount as it is more concentrated than an eau de toilette. Noir features top notes of Citrus, Cantaloupe Melon, Maine and Lemon Oil, with middle notes of Gardenia, Orange Blossom, Cashmere Wood and Sage and finishing with base notes of White Musk, Sandalwood and Oakmoss. I adore this stunning fragrance so much that part of me wants to keep it for myself as I love anything musky and woody.
Roger & Gallet are renowned for their beautiful body and skin care products, and they too also feature a men's range. Here I have the Roger & Gallet L'Homme Hair and Body Shower Gel (£9.50)* and the Roger & Gallet L'Homme Shaving Foam (£14.00)*. The packaging is gorgeous, with black, navy, white and gold making it look very elegant yet masculine. The scent is delicious, and again I kind of want to keep the Shower Gel for myself as it is very refreshing and energising. The Shaving Foam is enriched with aloe vera to soothe the skin and prevent irritation and dryness. This would go great with the Wilkinson Sword Razor. Roger & Gallet also have a L'Homme Sport Eau De Toilette (£35.00)*, which comes in a whopping 100ml. The bottle looks simple but classic and the fragrance itself contains invigorating Grapefruit and Tea Blend with woody notes underlining the sensuality of Amber and Vetiver to give an elegant, modern fragrance.
My Dad has had to also be a Mum to me since I was 17 years old and if I could give him the world and good health I would, but for now I know he will be over the moon with these gorgeous gifts. I hope that you and your Dad have the most amazing Father's Day, and for those that don't have their Dad alongside them, I send you my love.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
