Depending on how much time you spend outside, it can be super important to wear suncare all year round, but as it is now British Summertime, as well as peak holidaying time, I thought I would compile some of my current favourite and newly released suncare products.
Starting with one of my all time favourites, we have Clarins, and specifically their Sun Control Stick and Sun Wrinkle Control Cream. The Clarins Sun Control Stick for Sun-Sensitive Areas (£17.50), has an SPF30 and comes in a handy stick applicator, with an easy to apply texture which is ideal for sensitive areas such as the lips, nose, cheeks etc. This is going to provide double high protection against UVA and UVB rays and will help to prevent skin ageing. I also love that the product itself is white when you apply it, so that you can see where you're popping it on, and the applicator is a twist up, so you won't waste any product.
If anti-ageing is particularly important to you, then I highly recommend the Clarins Sun Wrinkle Control Cream for Face (£21), with an SPF50+. This is a specialist Sun protector and intensive anti-ager in one, with a lightweight formula to provide protection from the sun for the face and décolleté. This cream is available in moderate, high and very high protection. It melts instantly into the skin, and has a very pleasant yet understated scent, so it's not going to be overpowering.
One of the most iconic skincare products is the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, and they have now created a suncare product using the formula, the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Targeted Sun Defence Stick (£15). Complete with an SPF50, this delivers high protection from the sun and comes in a super handy portable case. This allows you to target over-exposed areas such as the lips, nose, earlobes, and even scars to shield them from the burning and ageing effects of UVA and UVB rays. Due to it being an Eight Hour product, this is going to really soothe and smooth the skin for up to eight hours.
Another key, yet affordable brand when it comes to skincare is Vichy, and they have a few new releases for Summer 2017. Starting with the Invisible Hydrating Mist (£16.50), this has an SPF50 and is a fresh, lightweight and water resistant spray. The deeply hydrating formula contains a broad spectrum filter system which defends the skin from UVA and UVB rays, and it has a fresh and gentle scent to it. Containing Vichy's very own Mineralizing Thermal Spa Water, this is going to provide you with optimal all day hydration and keep the skin soft and refreshed.
A product I have become obsessed with is the Vichy Double Usage After Sun Oil (£13). This wonder product is designed to combat the problem of skin dryness caused by skin exposure and is a luxurious and nourishing after sun spray which can be used in the shower before rinsing off, or directly on to dry skin. As well as deeply hydrating the skin, this unique formula also extends your tan by up to 61%! I also adore the scent, made up of mellow summer notes including ocean spray, white flowers, amber and musk. Heavenly!
When I first visited Florida back in 1999, I discovered the suncare brand Hawaiian Tropic, and I'm still in love with the scents of their products! The first of their two new releases is the Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Air Soft Face (£11.99), with an SPF30. The Air Soft formula contains natural silk proteins and offers the perfect mix of daily moisturiser and broad UVA and UVB protection, ensuring you're taking care of your skin as well as keeping it protected from the sunshine. The hydrating ribbons provide 12 hours of moisturisation to give soft, glowing skin, and can also be worn underneath makeup as it is non greasy and lightweight. Also, gotta love that coconut scent - I need a holiday, now!!
Their second new release is the Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Air Soft Continuous Spray (£18.99), available in SPF15 and SPF30. This handy spray provides even coverage and can be used at any angle to ensure you're covering those hard to reach areas for super easy application. The formula is fast absorbing and non greasy, so there's no having to wait around before getting dressed, and of course it is infused with that holiday coconut scent! Even though it's a spray, this does also include the hydrating ribbons to give 12 hours of moisturisation and offers defence against both burning and skin-ageing.
