Getting the Perfect Tan With Skinny Tan

Saturday 15 July 2017

As a fair skinned girl, with plenty of moles, being a sun worshipper has never been on my list of things to do, and so when it comes to tanning, I'm definitely all about that fake life, and what better way to do it than the Skinny Tan way! Read on to learn how to get the perfect tanning routine...
Firstly, I start with the Skinny Tan Exfoliating Prep Mitt (£7.99), as preparation is definitely the key to success when it comes to getting an even tan. There are two sides to this mitt, and you use the brown side for gentle exfoliation to remove any dead, dull skin cells, as well as any previous remaining tan, to create a smooth surface for the tan to be applied upon. The orange side of the mitt has professional level dermabrasion which is tough enough to remove stubborn excess tan from palms, ankles, knees and elbows.
Now that you have a fresh base to work with, I need to tell you about the Skinny Tan Pre Tan Primer (£9.99), an exfoliation which contains crushed walnuts and smells divine! The crushed walnuts work at removing any remaining dry or dead skin cells and leaves the most flawless base ready for tanning. It is recommended that you prime a few hours before applying any tan, rather than immediately before, as you need to let the skin settle and ensure there's no remaining Primer left on the skin.
When applying false tan, I always use a tanning mitt, as nobody wants orange palms, and I was so happy after trying out the Skinny Tan Dual Tanning Mitt (£4.99), because with other mitts, I've always had to use a rubber glove underneath the mitt because product tends to run through the sponge. However, with the Skinny Tan Mitt, the inside is coated ensuring nothing soaks through, and the luxury velvet outside helps to  achieve such a smooth tan and I find it gives excellent coverage.
Finally on to the star of the show, the Skinny Tan Express Tanning Mousse (£29.99), a one hour express tanning mousse, that allows you to control the depth of your tan. It has been formulated with an instant bronzer so you immediately have a hint of colour, and you can leave it on for one hour to give a stunning medium tan, or 2-3 hours for a very bronzed, medium to dark tan. So, if you get a last minute invitation, you can have a beautiful tan in just one hour! I'm definitely more of a mousse tan gal as I find it so much quicker and easier to apply, and this left me with no stickiness nor streaks, and I was so happy with the results. Another thing that bugs me with false tan is that nasty scent, but this one is allllll about the coconuts, which is my favourite scent so I'm loving that!
To take your tan one step further, perhaps for a special night out, then the Skinny Tan After Glow Gloss (£9.99) is gonna be your new bae. This is a moisturising gloss that you apply over the top of your tan to give the most outstanding, celebrity glow and sheen to the skin without containing any glitter. It is super hydrating on the skin as it contains Sunflower Oil and Coconut Oil (obviously smells insane!) and isn't at all sticky. You can thank me later!
Have you tried anything from the Skinny Tan collection? They have a roller applicator which really intrigues me, so I look forward to trying that!

You can find these fabulous products online at Skinny Tan, but they are also available instore and online at Superdrug.

All the Loves,
Kathryn x
