Paul & Joe are one of those beauty brands that create products which are often far too pretty to use. They release the most amazing designs, which I find need showcasing rather than using, but then the cosmetics themselves are far too good not to be used. Oh what a first world problem I have here! Haha! Anyway, I wanted to share with you some of the newest Paul & Joe products, because who wouldn't?!
These little books of goodness are the Paul & Joe Limited Edition Eye/Cheek Colour (£26), and we are starting with the shade 007 Castles. The outside packaging is slightly nautical in colour, and full of stripes and flowers, which opens up to reveal the prettiest palette you ever did see. Each shade can be used individually or swirled all together to create something custom and unique to you. The colours are highly pigmented and have the most insane shimmering finish - it's a hard call, but the baby pink shades have to be my favourites! The shadows have been so finely milled that they are so easy to apply and soft and long-lasting on the skin. As the shades have been so thoughtfully combined, this also makes the prettiest of highlighters - yes I am absolutely going to be using the words pretty and prettiest a lot, because that's exactly how to describe these beauties!
The next colour combination I have here is the Daydream Illuminator Palette (£26), which is packaged similarly but with a bright, brocade style design emblazoned throughout the outside packaging - Paul & Joe always create the most stunning packaging and I love when brands take so much care and thought with things like this. Onto the shades, and here we have all the pastels, with high sparkle soft baby pinks, shimmering khaki green, warmer rose toned pinks, and a champagne gold for good measure. As with Castles, Daydream can also be used shade by shade, or combined together to make one helluva highlighter! Glow baby glow!
Something else totally unique to Paul & Joe is the fact that you can buy Limited Edition patterned packaging separately and then the pans of products themselves also separately, so if there is a design you love, you can have that forever, and just update it with the pan of your choice. Here, I have the Limited Edition Compact Case (£7) in a really sweet striped design with what looks a little like a cherry blossom design. The compacts are magnetic and so they close securely, and each pan pops in magnetically to keep it in place. For my Powder Blush, I have the shade 09 Rhododendron (£12.50), which I think is a very reasonable price to pay for such a high end product. This duo of colour has been my absolute Summer go-to since I first discovered it - with its bright pop of candy pink, along with the shimmering sweet coral. The shades can of course be used separately or again, used together, and the choice of options is something I really enjoy with this brand.
My next discovery's concept was something new to me - the Limited Edition Gel Blush (£19), which comes in three complexion-enhancing shades, of which here I have 001 Fantasy. The packaging is cute and retro and reminds me a little of Palm Springs, with a twist-off lid which opens to reveal the product itself. It feels so bizarre to touch - it is kind of like a jelly blush, a little wobbly, and I expected it to be a bit of a fad product which perhaps wouldn't work so well - How wrong I was! This Gel Blush provides hydrating, glossy colour which delivers a long-lasting dewy glow, and because of it being a gel rather than a powder, it blends seamlessly into the skin, for a natural, even coverage, and as it is 80% water, it is super hydrating for the skin, and feels super cooling upon application! The shade 001 Fantasy is a gorgeous, and very wearable slightly peach toned pink, which works wonders on my light skin tone.
Paul & Joe are just loving the surprises this Summer! My final product is the Tinted Lip Gloss in the Shade 002 Figment (£17). Nothing unusual about a tinted lip gloss I hear you say! Well, as you can see in the pictures, this is a clear lip gloss, filled with iridescent specks of glitter. But it says tinted right? That's because this is a pH changing lip gloss, so when applied, delivers a customised and unique shade to you, as it goes on your pH! When applied onto the lips, the gloss changes colour from clear to a perfect sparkling pink by reacting with the lips' moisture, so you may even get a different shade depending on the time of year too. The packaging is the same cool, retro packaging as the Gel Blush, and the applicator is a doe-foot sponge, so it is super easy to apply even on the go.
I cannot wait to see what the Paul & Joe Festive Collection brings! Note I didn't say Christmas! :)
All the Loves,
Kathryn x
