I take good care of my skin, but right now my skin hates me. Well, maybe not me so much, but certainly the weather. I have had colds and coughs pretty much on and off since Christmas and along with the bitterly cold weather we have been having, my skin is pretty sad. Even when I have been using my regular skincare products, one or two have them have left my skin feeling a little aggravated and so I thought I would give it a little treat with the L'Oreal Pure Clay Soothing Mask.
The L'Oreal Clay Masks have been pretty popular for a year or two now, and they keep releasing new ones, so gotta love that. Apart from this being my DREAM colour, the soothing, detoxifying and calm labels on the packaging made me pick this up. So, let's get on to the ingredients, this mask has a blend of three clays, Kaolin, a highly effective natural clay known to absorb impurities and excess sebum, Montmorillonite, rich in minerals, this clay helps eliminate imperfections, and Ghassoul, a pure clay which is highly concentrated in minerals, renowned to help clarity complexion. Along with those three clays, this mask also contains Mallow Flower Extract, which is known for its soothing properties.
With this product being a soothing mask, it is also suitable for those of you with sensitive skin, and it isn't going to cause you any irritation. L'Oreal recommend you applying a thin layer of the mask onto clean skin 2-3 times a week. Take a bath, relax, and leave the mask to work its magic for around 5-10 minutes, removing after this with warm water. The mask has a very light, fresh, soothing scent to it which I found very relaxing and comforting and after removing the mask I found that my skin felt soft and not at all dry like some clay masks can accomplish. The redness I suffer from on my cheeks felt and looked much calmer and my skin was happy to get some pampering without anything too heavy.
The L'Oreal Pure Clay Soothing Mask costs £7.99 and is available in-store and online at Superdrug.
