Hourglass Vanish Liquid Foundation Review

Monday 22 April 2019

To me, Hourglass is a luxury cosmetics brand, as their price range is quite high, but their products look beautiful, and I do have a few of their powder products, a blush and one of the Ambient Lighting palettes, so I know the quality is there. One of their most recent releases is the Hourglass Vanish Liquid Foundation, and I have been wanting to try it out for a while now as I kept seeing it all over social media and people have been raving about it.
The Hourglass Vanish Liquid Foundation is a liquid (duh) version of their popular Vanish Stick Foundation and promises a second-skin finish and a smooth and flawless complexion. Who doesn't want that? There are 34 shades available and I relied on the Temptalia Foundation Matrix to find my shade as I don't have an Hourglass counter anywhere near where I live. I opted for Porcelain which is for fair skin with a neutral undertone and this shade works really well for me.

Hourglass state that you don't need to use a primer with this foundation, which normally I use to try and conceal my pores and they're absolutely right, just one pump covered my entire face as well as my pores, which I have never had from another foundation. I found that it also worked well to cover the veins on my eyelids, and did a good job of concealing my under-eye area, although because I have such dark circles, I did go in with a concealer afterwards. It dried down pretty quickly and lasted me throughout the day, without any need for a touch-up and there was no transferring onto my clothing, which is something I do find with foundations.
This is for those who prefer a full-coverage look, and as it gives you that immediately, you don't need to build up the product. If you wanted a lighter coverage, then I would suggest adding some moisturiser in with the foundation. I have very combination skin, and this kept my oil at bay, even on my T-Zone which is normally a nightmare towards mid-afternoon as it has a super-matte finish, but I found this didn't dry out my skin either.

I think the only thing I can find 'negative' about this foundation is the price. It costs £51.00 for 25ml, which is definitely pricey, but if you are wanting something that gives you full coverage, and transforms your skin, then I would 100% recommend it.

You can find the Hourglass Vanish Liquid Foundation online at Feel Unique here.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
