Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Nude Foundation Review

Thursday 2 May 2019

One of the first higher-end foundations I used to use was the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear, and I loved it, and went through a few bottles of it. But, I haven't really tried a foundation from them for a couple of years now, and when they fairly recently released the new addition Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Nude Foundation, I was looking forward to trying it out.
There are forty shades available, and again I used my trusty Temptalia Foundation Matrix to figure out what shade I would need, ending up with shade 010 Beige Porcelain. The packaging of this Foundation compared to the original is that firstly it is in a plastic bottle, and I must say when I am buying higher-end foundations, I much prefer a glass bottle as it feels a little more special. The applicator is a squeezy nozzle rather than a pump, but to me that makes no difference.

The foundation itself has quite a lightweight, watery texture to it, and I tried with a primer and without, and I definitely personally needed to use a primer to cover my pores. The liquid has a 'skincare' type scent to it, which reminds me of the original, and I personally like it, although I know some people prefer their foundation fragrance-free, and even though I have sensitive skin, this didn't aggravate it. I needed quite a few drops of the foundation to cover my face as it is for a light coverage and I prefer more medium to full, but it dried down into a fresh yet matte finish and I had no problems blending it into my skin and adding another layer.
It does boast 24 hour wear and shine control, but as you will probably know if you read my posts often, that I never have any need to keep my foundation on that long as I have quite a strict skincare routine and I am not young enough to be at all-night-long parties. Pass me my zimmer frame! Anyway, in all seriousness, this is going to make a great Summer foundation, as it feels light on the skin, gives a natural light coverage, and helps to keep oil at bay as well as being sweat-proof. If this is something you are looking for in a foundation, then I truly recommend you pop down to your local Lancome counter, or use the Temptalia Foundation Matrix and try it out.

The Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Nude Foundation costs £33.50 for 40ml, which is a good price and a good size for a higher-end brand and you can find it online at Lancome here.

All the Loves,
