My #PixiGlowStory

Friday 17 May 2019

I have been using Pixi Glow Tonic for at least a couple of years now, and have gone through two huge bottles and many smaller bottles. I recently received a beautiful package from Pixi which as been inspired by their award-winning Glow Tonic and includes products to exfoliate, hydrate and nourish the skin further.
The Pixi Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel costs £18.00 for 135ml and is a hydrating cleansing gel which removes impurities without stripping the skin of essential moisture. I couldn't find out what skin types this has been created for, so maybe it is suitable for all skin types. The packaging is typically Pixi, with its soft Spring green, nude and rose gold wording and looks super pretty in your bathroom. The Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel has been created using a blend of glycolic acid, horse chestnut extract, aloe and ginseng, helping to refine and brighten the complexion to leave the skin looking and feeling energised and smooth. Even though this is an exfoliating cleanser, there are no granules in there so I would say it would be suitable for sensitive skin too as it isn't going to aggravate the skin with harsh abrasion. It has a light scent to it, that is fresh and perfect for both morning and evening use.
If you haven't yet tried the Pixi Glow Tonic, it does come in smaller bottles so you can try it without splashing the cash. The smallest they offer is a 15ml bottle, with the middle-sized being 100ml and costing £10.00 - the largest size is 250ml for £18.00 but occasionally they do bring out a huge bottle, often around Christmas-time. Glow Tonic is an exfoliating, alcohol-free toner to give you smoother, brighter and clearer skin. Whenever I run out of this, I can always tell a difference when I switch to a different toner as my skin doesn't look as healthy or as glowy. It has been formulated with 5% glycolic acid to gently exfoliate the skin and because it is a gentle formula it is suitable for all skin types. Other ingredients include aloe vera, ginseng and botanical extracts to nourish and treat the skin and as someone who has slightly sensitive skin, this seems to calm my redness, perhaps due to the soothing properties of aloe vera. I use this both morning and night after cleansing, by popping some on to a cotton pad and sweeping across my face, neck and decolletage area.
One of the newer additions to the Glow Tonic family is the Pixi Glow Tonic Serum, which costs £26.00 for 30ml, which compared to some other serums is definitely well-priced. The thing about serums is that you only need a couple of drops for the entire face and so they do work out good value. The Pixi Glow Tonic Serum is a lightweight serum which gently exfoliates, hydrates and nourishes the skin to soften, refine and restore radiance to leave you with smooth and balanced skin. The Serum comes in a mint green glass bottle complete with a glass dropper applicator so that you can get the required amount out each time without spilling too much out. I find this quite a refreshing, cooling product and it does feel slightly gloopy once you pop it onto the skin, but it massages in beautifully and sinks into my skin instantly to leave it feeling super soft and smooth.
Another new addition is the Pixi pHenomenal Gel, which retails for £24.00 and you get 50ml of product. When I first looked at this product I did expect it to have a tint of green in it as it does say 'neutralising moisturiser' so I kind of thought it would be green to neutralise any redness on the skin. However, it doesn't, and is a cooling, lightweight gel formula which helps to balance and stabilise the skin's pH, so therefore is is even better than a tinted moisturiser, as it works with your skin to prevent the redness in the first place. Pixi do recommend you using a coin sized amount of the moisturiser, but I found that I needed even less than that because a little goes a long way due to the consistency of the gel. I loved that this sunk into my skin straightaway just like the serum, as I am a little impatient when it comes to waiting for products to dry - hence why my nails always look terrible!
The final product I was kindly sent is the Pixi On-The-Glow Multi-Use Moisturiser Stick which costs £18.00 for 19g. This handy little stick is going to be the perfect Summer accessory as it is slim and will fit into handbags, travel bags, in your car's glove box, pretty much anywhere. You can use this solid moisturiser on the face, lips, body and hair, although personally I wouldn't use this on my hair as I am not sure how that would work. It has a peach tint to it in the packaging but goes onto the skin clear. The Moisturiser Stick has been formulated with a mix of Vitamin D2, gentle acids and vitamins to protect, treat and increase moisture levels not just straightaway, but also long-term. I really like this product, as I can keep it on my desk and then swipe it over my face when I need a little moisture. The only thing I would say that could improve it is to add an SPF, mainly just because it is so handy to have for travelling, that by having SPF it would be so much more convenient.
You can find these Glow Collection products online at Pixi here.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
