Summer Brights

Monday 17 June 2019

I love colour, I love wearing it and I love colourful makeup and other beauty products and so I have put together some of my favourite Summer Brights for this season.
Beauty Bay stock their own brand of makeup products, including this Beauty Bay EYN Bright Matte 9 Colour Eye Shadow Palette which costs a bargainous £6.50. When I ordered this I expected it to be the size of the little Huda Beauty palettes, but it is a really good size! As the name suggests, there are nine eye shadow pans inside this palette along with a mirror on the inside of the lid. If you are wanting every colour of the rainbow, then this is the palette for you, and there is even a white shadow which is great for a base when using such bright shadows. The shadows themselves are soft and buttery and whilst they aren't the most pigmented in the world, they still do a great job, especially for the price. You can find it online at Beauty Bay here.
Last year saw the release of the Urban Decay Double Team Special Effect Coloured Mascara* (£19.50), which is available in five bright colours, and can be used on both the lashes and brows. Here I have the shade Vice, Urban Decay's signature purple shade and on one end you get the regular coloured cream mascara and on the other end you get a shimmery special effect mascara. Both of the applicators are thick and plush, and both apply the mascara and special effect mascara really well without your lashes getting all clumpy, and I think this is great for a subtle pop of colour. You can find them online at Urban Decay here.
For the face, the Star Dust With Glitter Soothing Peel-Off Mask* (£4.99) is such a fun idea. The mask comes in a sachet which a twist-off lid so you can get multiple uses from this and it is lovely and light for travelling with. The soothing mask contains Tea Tree, Herbs and Nephrite to soothe and clarify the complexion and once applied, the mask dries down to a metallic green finish and then the fun part is peeling it off, I find peel off masks so satisfying! You can find it in-store and online at Boots here.
Strictly these aren't all brights, apart from the shade Empire Yellow, but I do love pastel shades too and these LOLA Makeup Ultra Shine Nail Polishes (£6.95 each) come in such gorgeous shades. Empire Yellow is a bright canary yellow, Orchid Mist is a soft candy lilac pink and Hint Of Mint is a pastel mint green shade. The square lid does come off on its own to reveal a regular nail polish lid, which makes the polish easier to apply rather than holding a chunky lid. You can find them online at LOLA Makeup here.
Impulse recently released some brand new body mists with fragrance combinations that are a little different. I adore the packaging as it is so summery and bright, and the fragrances aren't quite as 'mixed-up' as you might think. The Impulse Fizzy Apple + Festival Fields* (£6.00) smells fresh and fruity like apple, but then also has a more muskier hit to it from the fields part of the fragrance. If you love sweet-dessert-like fragrances, then Sweet Caramel + Electric Blossom* is the one for you. This smells just like caramel with a hint of floral underneath. You can find these in-store and online at Boots here.
All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
