Glam Festive Beauty Recommendations

Friday 15 November 2019

Party season is well and truly on its way, and so I have gathered some of my favourite glamorous, glitzy and glowy products that will help you to look your absolute best and be the belle of the ball you already are.
Starting with the skin, as I firmly believe if your base is good, then your makeup is going to perform much better. I love the Sanctuary Spa 1 Minute Daily Glow Mask* (£14.00 75ml), as it is super quick and easy to use. The formula includes three different kinds of Vitamin C, including an extract from superfruit Kakadu Plum, the world's highest source of Vitamin C, so this is going to smooth and refine the skin to leave it beautifully fresh and glowy. You pop it on to clean dry skin, and then add a couple of drops of water to activate the treatment, leave on for a minute and then rinse off. This can be done last minute before any party! You can find it at Boots here.
To really amp up glowy skin, I would recommend the NARS Orgasm Liquid Highlighter (£25.00 15ml). This is a super lightweight liquid highlighter than can be mixed into foundation or moisturiser for a subtle glow, or worn on the high points of the face for a stunning ethereal effect. The formula contains Pomegranate Extract, which is an active ingredient known for its antioxidant and long-lasting hydration properties. NARS Orgasm is a universally skin-flattering shade and so this liquid highlighter is a fail-safe product. You can find it online at NARS here.
A highlighter palette I have been reaching for a lot lately is the Cover FX Gold Bar Highlighting Palette (£34.00). I think highlight palettes are so useful, because of course you can use them as highlighters, but you can also use them as eyeshadows, and for dusting across the neck and shoulders, which can transform the skin whilst wearing a party dress. The Cover FX Gold Bar Palette features a mirror on the inside of the lid and it is fairly slimline, so great for travelling with. There are three shades inside, 24K Gold, a champagne gold, White Gold, a natural pearl, and Rose Gold, a soft metallic pink. You can find it online at Beauty Bay here.
Possibly the softest, most lightweight cream eyeshadows I have ever tried are the New CID Cosmetics i-colour Long-Wear Cream Eyeshadows* (£16.00 5g). These lovely little pots of joy contain cream eyeshadows that have the most unique silky smooth creamy texture that goes to a slightly powdery formulation, so that they don't budge on the eyelids. The i-colours are super easy to apply too, that it doesn't matter how confident with makeup you are - simply use your fingertip! There are five shades available and I am lucky enough to have three - Twilight is a pretty pale silver, Tourmaline is a stunning warm metallic pink and Crystal Quartz, my favourite, my a beautiful champagne gold. You can find them online at New CID Cosmetics here.
When it comes to eyeshadows, if glitters, metallics and shimmers are your thing, then I totally recommend the Revolution Forever Flawless Chilled Eyeshadow Palette* (£10.00). This vegan and cruelty-free eyeshadow palette contains 18 beautiful matte, shimmer and pressed glitter shadows that are infused with nourishing cannabis sativa seed oil to take care of that delicate eye area. There are bronze shades, browns, silvers, golds, pinks, nudes and more. This really is one of those palettes that you can create so many unique looks from, and one that is going to last you all year round. Each shadow works out at 55p, which is phenomenal value for the quality and they come beautifully presented in a tin palette complete with mirror for on the go application. You can find it at Revolution Beauty here.
If gorgeous, iridescent shimmer is your thing, then the KIKO Smart Cult Eyeshadow Palette in 02 Shocking Sparkle Shades* (£16.99) is going to blow you away! These are some of the prettiest eyeshadows I have come across and there isn't a single dud shade. It is hard for them to show up on camera, but each one has the silkiest formula and the most amazing shimmer and glitter running throughout them. There are twelve shades in this neat petite palette, and some of them you could even use as highlighters. There is such a mixture, of lighter shades, bold shades, and warmer, smokier shades too. The possibilities here are endless. You can find it online at KIKO here.
Moving on to lips, and I don't know about you, but I get such dry, sore lips at this time of year, and so the Lanolips Tinted Lip Balms* (£8.99 12.5g) are perfect as they not only nourish and protect the lips, but they add a hint of colour to them too, to step up that glam factor. Along with this, the formula also has SPF 30, and so whether it is Summer sun or Winter sun, Lanolips have you protected. There are four shades available, including a pale pink, a brighter pink, a red and a nude, so there is something that is going to suit all skin tones and all occasions. So, even if you have the driest lips, you can still add a pop of colour and treat them all at the same time. You can find them at Feel Unique here.
If you are looking for a long-lasting, rich lipstick, then be sure to check out the Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipsticks* (£8.99). There are at least 25 shades to choose from, so you will no doubt find your perfect shade and the Colour Elixir formula has been developed to give highly pigmented colour and moisturisation in just one swipe of lippy, that can last up to 24 hours! That beautiful formula, includes a blend of 60% emollients, conditioners and antioxidants including Vitamin E, that will continuously care for your lips all day and night long, making them the perfect Winter lipstick. The two shades I have here, are 055 Brightening Coral, a stunning magenta pink, and 065 Tangerine, a red-toned coral. You can find them in-store and online at Superdrug here.
A product which I received in an American beauty box is the Huda Beauty Alluring Liquid Matte Lipstick. Now, this was a Limited Edition shade and so it isn't available in the UK, but there are other shades similar to it in Huda's range. The reason for including it within this post is that it is a super long lasting lip colour, and when you are out and about, and drinking your glass of champagne, you don't want to be constantly topping up your lipstick. The Huda Beauty Liquid Lip formula is one of the best, and it stays in place, is insanely pigmented and doesn't dry out the lips like some liquid lipsticks can do. You can find the Huda Beauty Liquid Lips online at Feel Unique here.
Finally, I am finishing with nails. KISS have some of the most amazing false nails on the market, and their Glam Fantasy* range has some of the best special effects options. I adore this navy and gold polka dot glittery set, as you get matte navy, and then the shiny navy with gold polka dots, and of course that beautiful gold glitter, giving you such a variety of textures. These KISS nails come with adhesive tabs and glue, so you can decide yourself how you want to apply them. I do find that glue lasts a little longer, but if you are in a job where you can't wear false nails after the party, then be sure to use the adhesive tabs. You can find them online at Superdrug here.
I hope you enjoyed this post, and managed to get some glam ideas!

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
