With the sunshine finally on its way again, I thought what better time to to share some of the best summer skincare products with you. Bioderma create amazing products for both body and face, and their suncare offerings are fabulous. Here are my three favourite products to get your skin sunshine-ready.
If you are the sort of person who likes to be out of the door as quick as possible in a morning, then I would recommend the Bioderma Photoderm Bronz Invisible Mist SPF 30 (£20.00 for 200ml). This provides very high sun protection and also promotes natural tanning, allowing you to get a safe, yet sensational colour. This can be used on both the face and body and comes out of the bottle clear, via a mister. The formula gives high protection, and has a 100% transparent, non-oily and non-sticky finish, so there is no waiting around for it to dry down, and doesn't leave your clothes feeling uncomfortable over the top of it. The exclusive tanning complex activates, intensifies and durably prolongs your natural tan, allowing you to look bronzed for longer and is suitable for all skin types, even those with sensitive skin. I have quite dry to sensitive skin, and I have found that this does not dry out my skin, nor does it irritate my sensitive patches. I love how quick and easy this is to use, and it would also work really well for children due to this. You can find it online at Feel Unique here.
If you need a suncare product with a higher SPF, then the Bioderma Photoderm Max SPF 50+ (£14.80 for 40ml) will be the lotion for you. This gives maximum protection and is suitable for all skin types, including oily to combination skin types. The Max SPF 50+ guarantees optimum skin protection and helps to prevent sun intolerance reactions, directly protecting the skin cells against the sun's dangers. This is more of a lotion than the Spray, but it dries down colourless and has a smooth texture which melts into the skin evenly and quickly, and again I found that this left no oiliness or greasiness on the skin after application, nor do I get any white marks. This is solely for the face, and would work really well on very fair skin or those who have a lot of freckles. Even though I do have a bit of colour to my skin at the moment, I am naturally very fair and I have quite a lot of moles, so I always tend to use a higher sun protection product. Even when the sun isn't shining, you should always use SPF on the face, even in the colder months, and I love that this dries down matte and invisible so that I can either wear makeup, or not, and it doesn't alter how my skin looks. You can find it online at Feel Unique here.
Finally, it doesn't matter how high our sun protection is, we can all still burn in the sunshine, and so to take care of any sunburnt skin, or skin that just needs a little extra hydration after a day in the sun, I would recommend the Bioderma Photoderm Apres-soileil Refreshing After-Sun Milk (£11.80 for 200ml). This is a moisturising milk that soothes the skin and helps to prolong your tan. It has a soft, lightweight texture to it and a delicate scent to it, that reminds me of being on holiday. The After-Sun Milk can be used on both the face and body, to soothe the skin after exposure to the sunshine, and to maintain an optimum epidermal hydration level. The formula sinks into the skin straightaway, and instantly refreshes and hydrates it, therefore preparing it for further exposure, optimising its natural anti-UV protection. The Milk is enriched with emollient and soothing active ingredients, and also decongests the skin after sun exposure and helps to prolong the tan by curbing any peeling of the skin - nobody wants to look like a snake that is shedding its skin! As with the majority of Bioderma products, this too is suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skins and I have started using it even when I don't feel burnt, as I like how hydrating and refreshing it is on the skin.
