Valentine's, Galentine's & Self-Care Gift Guide

Thursday 11 February 2021

Whether you are celebrating Galentine's, Valentine's or even just giving yourself a treat this Valentine's Day, I have included a round-up of some of the best gifts available at the moment, no matter what your budget.

Starting with body care, and Evolve Organic Beauty have recently released two new products - the Evolve Super Berry Body Oil* (£24.00 for 100ml) and the Evolve Super Berry Bath and Shower Oil* (£24.00 for 250ml). The Super Berry Body Oil is a luxurious moisturising body oil that has been formulated to revive dry and mature skin and is lightweight and quick to absorb. Both products have a light, delicious berry scent to them and the ingredients are organic and 100% natural. I love that the Body Oil doesn't leave behind a greasy residue as it is so quick to sink into the skin, leaving it looking and feeling super smooth. The Evolve Super Berry Bath and Shower Oil washes and moisturises the body at the same time, and just like the body oil, it is lightweight and can even be used as a bubble bath too as the waterless formula is made up of natural oil cleansers that transform into a soothing, milky emulsion. I love how much these products have helped transform my Winter-dry skin.

At the moment, I go through endless amounts of hand gel, and I thought the Carex Love Hearts Hand Cleansing Gel* (£3.50 for 300ml) was a fun addition to this blog post. Even before the pandemic, I always had a small bottle of hand gel in my handbag, on my desk and at home and I adore the Love Hearts fragrance of this one - it is sweet and slightly fizzy and really does smell just like the popular sweets. Carex Hand Cleansing Gels cleans, cares and protects the skin without drying it out like some other formulas can.

If like me, you or a loved one enjoys a multi-use product, then I would highly recommend the Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre* (£17.99 for 50ml). This one comes in gorgeous Limited Edition London packaging and it is a multi-tasking cream that works as a moisturising lotion, a primer, a repairing mask, a baby-care product and even a makeup remover! Its rich formula contains essential fatty acids and vitamins to reduce irritation especially after shaving, whilst plumping the skin for firmer results. The formula sinks into the skin quickly and is enriched with nutrients and water to balance out the skin and promote cell renewal to help the skin look brighter and healthier.

One of my favourite toners is the Kiehl's Calendula Toner, and they recently released the Kiehl's Calendula Petal-Infused Calming Mask* (£44.00 for 100ml), which I would highly recommend. This calming face mask instantly hydrates the skin for a refreshed and healthy-looking appearance and is unfragranced for those with sensitive skin. The Mask is formulated with hand-picked Calendula Flower petals and Aloe Vera, which is instantly cooling and soothing on the skin. Even after just one use, you will notice a difference in the hydration of your skin and it works well at improving dry skin and blotchiness. Especially in the colder months, my skin gets quite red, and sometimes itchy, but this has worked like a dream and is suitable for all skin types, making it a perfect skincare gift!

The I Heart Revolution Heart Breakers Eyeshadow Palettes (£5.00) are one of my favourites - they are neat and compact, very affordable and the formula works really well. They have just released some new colours in this collection and I just had to include the Candyfloss palette in this gift guide! I love how it contains a good mixture of shades and textures, even though the emphasis is on pink, you are also getting a nude, a yellow and a brown, all of which are mattes so that you can create a full eye look without having to dip into other palettes. Super cute!

For the environmentally-friendly perfect gift, I have here the Rubis Sweezer Tweezers* - these are lightweight and even recyclable! The Sweezer tweezers are the only tweezers that are made of 100% recyclable aluminium and one piece of material. The perfect alignment of their tips enables the removal of even the finest hairs and their weight is significantly lower than that of conventional steel tweezers. They are available in multiple colours, but I love this gorgeous bright green. With beauty salons currently closed, give the gift of good brows with the Sweezer Tweezers!

Sanctuary Spa are one of my favourite go-to brands for relaxing, pampering products. The Sanctuary Spa Little Moments Gift Set* (£15.00) is the perfect gift for a loved one. It comes beautifully packaged, complete with a bow on top, and contains two full sized products and one travel-sized product. You receive the White Lily & Damask Rose Body Wash (250ml), the White Lily & Rose Damask Body Lotion (250ml) and the White Lily & Rose Damask Body Scrub (50ml). This is such a lovely gift for someone who needs a little me-time and pampering, or of course for yourself. At £15.00, I think this is also a really good price point for such quality products.

I know a lot of people often get their nails done year-round at the salon, but obviously at the moment, that isn't something that can take place. So I wanted to include three of my favourite OPI Nail Polishes* (£13.90 each) in a trio of red shades. OPI has been one of my favourite nail brands for as long as I can remember, as the quality is second to none, and the brush makes it easy to apply, and the polish lasts on the nails much longer than many other brands. The shades I have here are Cajun Shrimp - a flavoursome red with a hint of coral, which will also look amazing in Summer, Big Red Apple - a big, bold, classic red that is perfect all year round, and I'm Not Really A Waitress - a stunning, shimmering Chianti red (I always love the names they come up with!).

L-R: Cajun Shrimp, Big Red Apple, I'm Not Really A Waitress

Whatever you are doing this Valentine's Day, I hope you have a fun-filled day.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
