Glow Recipe is a K-Beauty brand that has taken the world by storm and I have tried quite a good selection of their products now. Today's post is all about the Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Mask & Eye Sleeping Mask and I wanted to share my thoughts on them with you.

The Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Mask* (£23.00 for 25ml) comes housed in a pebbly glass jar, with a resemblance of an avocado, and this is essentially a nourishing night cream that has been formulated with Avocado Oil and Avocado Fruit Extract, which is rich in Vitamin C and Vitamin E. It has a thick but easy to spread texture and the cream also contains encapsulated, time-release Retinol, which is renowned for reducing fine lines and helping to smooth out uneven skin tone. The Sleeping Mask also contains quite the array of skin-loving botanical and aquatic extracts, including Green Tea, Ginger Root and Algae, however some other key ingredients worth mentioning are Hyaluronic Acid and Squalene to provide the skin with high doses of hydration and Gluconolactone, which is a PHA to give the skin a gentle exfoliating treatment. The Mask has a very subtle fragrance, so if you don't like overly fragranced skincare, then you would still be able to enjoy this product and as soon as you apply it, the skin feels instantly soothed and hydrated. Intended for normal to dry skin, the formulation also works well with my combination skin and there is no greasiness left behind once the product has been applied to the skin. As I have a more sensitive skin type, I only tend to use this a couple of times a week, and each morning, after use, my skin feels smoother and softer with no irritation or peeling. If you have super sensitive skin, you can apply this like a face mask, leave on for 20-30 minutes or so and then rinse off with warm water.

One of my most troublesome skin concerns this year has been dryness on my undereye area, and the skin around the eyes is the thinnest of anywhere on your face, which is why it tends to show signs of ageing first and because it is so thin, it doesn't do the best job of holding in moisture. The Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask* (£41.00 for 15ml) delivers a gentle dose of Retinol to the undereye area as well as infusing it with a healthy dose of replenishing plant oils and the formula is rich so it is perfect for dry under eyes. It comes in a mini version of the pebbly glass jar the Sleeping Mask comes in and the formula is similar, containing an encapsulated, time-released complex of Retinol, Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide, that works to smooth, nourish and revitalise the eye area whilst you sleep. Throughout the night, the formula moisturises and soothes the delicate eye area skin, preventing both dryness and dehydration, and Coffeeberry Extract, derived from the seed of the coffee plant, revitalises the skin, neutralising free radicals and helping to treat dark circles, which are often caused by dehydration. A little goes a long way with this product, and you get a little spoon like with the original Sleeping Mask, so no need to stick your fingertips in the pot, keeping the product clean and fresh. I have been using this most evenings, and even though I have sensitive eyes, this has not caused any irritation and my undereye area looks so much more refreshed and well-rested each morning.
