Barry M New Products April 2022

Wednesday 27 April 2022

Barry M is one of my favourite drugstore beauty brands, as they are constantly releasing new, fun and exciting products and their nail polishes are my favourite! This month saw the release of a few new products, so I managed to pick up a few and here are my thoughts...

First up, is the Barry M Buff & Balm, which comes in three scents - Coconut Cream Crush, Peach Pop and Blueberry Burst and retail for just £4.99 for 4g. They come in cardboard packaging with pretty fruits illustrated on them and each one has a different tint and obviously scent. Coconut Cream Crush has a slight pink tint with a coconut scent, Peach Pop has a light coral peach tint and smells of fresh juicy peaches and Blueberry Burst has a sheer purple tint with a delicious blueberry scent to it. The formula gently buffs away any dead skin cells without being abrasive, and the creamy texture helps to keep the lips nourished and well moisturised. Because the formula is not abrasive, these are great for everyday use.

Next up is the Barry M Heatwave Baked Marble Blusher (£6.99 for 6.3g), which is available in three shades - a plum, a peach and a pink. Mine is in the shade Coastal, which is a pretty pop of pink mixed with a little champagne shade. This is a very shimmery blush, and it can tend to look more like a highlighter than a blush on the skin, which I do find a bit of a shame as the colour is pretty but I do have textured skin so shimmer doesn't always look the best on my cheeks. I was also a little disappointed with the formula of the blush - it is quite dry and not very smooth, which doesn't take away from the finished look of the blush, but I do feel Barry M could have done a much better job with this as they have had some lovely powder products in the past.

The final new product I have today is the Barry M Mini Cream Palettes (£6.99), which are cream eyeshadows in three different shade options. The Jewels feature a green shimmer, a burgundy, a blue shimmer, a pink lilac shade and a deep purple colour. The Nudes features a soft champagne shimmer, and then four variations of browns, and finally there is also The Berries, which I don't have here. I have mixed reviews on these - I LOVE the pink lilac shade it is utter perfection, but the green and blue shimmer are very disappointing and it took some building up to get colour which doesn't always look great with cream eyeshadows. The Nudes palette is a much more consistent palette, and the formula is creamy without being sticky and very pigmented, with a little going a long way. I also like the fact that you could use the champagne shimmer as a highlight too. I will keep The Jewels palette as the pink and purple shades are gorgeous, and I may consider picking up The Berries in time for Autumn!

You can find Barry M online here.

All the Loves,

  1. Thanks for the Mini Cream Eyesahadow Palette review, it's on my wishlist but it's difficult to find good reviews and swatches online.
