Essence Cosmetics - New In April 2022

Friday 8 April 2022

If you have been here a while, you will know I have loved Essence Cosmetics for many, many years. Whenever they bring out a new product or range, I immediately have to have it! The price points are always incredible, and whilst not every product is a hit, the majority sure are. I still have plenty of backups of my favourite Essence Princess Lash Mascara (the black and green one). Here's some of the products Essence have recently released...

First up are a couple of lip care products - the Essence Lip Care Booster Lip Peeling (£2.45 for 11g) and the Essence Lip Care Booster Overnight Lip Mask (£2.99 for 10g). The Lip Peeling has been formulated with Lemon Peel Powder to create soft, supple and hydrated lips by removing dead skin cells from the lips. It also helps to keep them moisturised due to the 10% Lemon Oil content, which leaves a zesty lemon taste on the lips (try not to eat ALL of it!) and super smooth due to the Lemon Peel Powder. Delicious! They both come in sweet little pots and the Overnight Lip Mask has been formulated with 10% Oat Milk Extract to nourish and regenerate the lips overnight. It has a thicker, more nourishing formula with it being an overnight product, and so you wake up to softer, more supple lips in the morning. I love how this makes my lips feel almost plumper.

In no particular order, but one product I was super excited to try is the Essence Hello Good Stuff Mousse Face Moisturiser (£4.49 for 50ml) as I adore anything banana scented or flavoured. This glass pot contains a refreshing and nourishing moisturiser that is enriched with Banana Water, creating an airy mousse texture with a light, gel-like effect which absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving a sticky residue. Apply both morning and night after cleansing, toning and using a serum, and this Moisturiser gives a skin-smoothing effect whilst also keeping the skin hydrated. The banana scent is delicate enough not to bug those people who don't like scented skincare, but delicious enough to want to eat it. Why do Essence make so many delectable products?! I really enjoy the formula, and I think if you put it in the fridge, it will be dreamy to use in the warmer months due to that mousse-like consistency.

Gripping primers were around a lot the last few years, and now we have the Essence Fix & Last Make-Up Gripping Jelly Primer (£3.95 for 29ml). This Primer comes with a push down applicator and provides extra-long makeup hold and a smooth, fresh finish due to its quickly-absorbed, transparent jelly texture. Again, another formula which would be extra cooling in Summer. The formula also provides moisture to the skin and can be worn with or without foundation, due to it not having a sticky texture. However, I do find even though it isn't sticky, it does manage to grip my foundation well and keep it in place throughout the day whilst also keep my skin refreshed and hydrated.

I have mentioned previously that due to a lot of hormone medication I have to take for my endometriosis, I do get warm a lot of the time whilst I am out and about, so I often put a face mist in my bag. The Essence Hello Good Stuff Happy Bliss Face Spray (£2.99 for 50ml) is a lovely option. This is a revitalising facial mist that nourishes and hydrates the skin and the formula is made up of 96% natural ingredients and citrus water. When you spritz this mist, you can smell the deliciously refreshing citrus fragrance and it is such a handy little bottle of refreshing and hydrating joy. It doesn't do anything magical, but it does what it says, and is a great way to freshen up throughout the day.

The most recent actual collection from Essence is the Everlasting Blooms collection, but unfortunately not all of it is available in the UK (I hate when that happens, but it does happen quite a bit with Essence). I did manage to get a few items though including the Essence Everlasting Blooms pH-Reacting Lip Glow (£2.99), which comes in clear and rose gold packaging with a pretty flower on the top of the lid. This is a pH reacting lip tint which colours the lips a soft, natural-looking pink (Think Dior, but a fraction of the price). This innovative formula reacts which your lips' natural pH value, developing into a unique shade of pink which suits your complexion best. It has a nourishing texture and a pleasant, delicate floral scent.

One of my favourite products from Essence's recent releases is the Essence Everlasting Blooms Lip & Cheek Stick (£2.99 for 6g), purely because of the beautiful colour! This Fenty-inspired lovely lilac and rose gold packaging houses a stunning coral pink lip and cheek colour. The formula is creamy and rich which builds and blends easily and a little goes a long way as it is super pigmented. You can use it on the lips, cheeks and even on the eyelids if you want that monotone look! For me, this is the perfect all-in-one Spring and Summer go-to product and if you pick up anything from this haul, be sure to make it this!

My final piece I managed to pick up from the collection is the Essence Everlasting Blooms Duo Highlighter (£3.78 for 10g). This pretty compact is adorned with bronze flowers, and can be used as a blush or highlighter. The formula is super smooth and soft and lights up the complexion with its combination of rose and gold shimmering particles. The website states that it has a delicate floral scent, but I cannot smell it, and fragrance doesn't bother me either way when it comes to beauty products. For the price, you really cannot go wrong with this beautiful highlighter.

A new primer that has been released is the Essence Hello Good Stuff Glow Serum Primer (£4.49 for 30ml), which looks more serum than primer in the bottle. However, once you massage this light gel texture into the skin, it definitely feels more like a primer but with the freshness and hydration of a serum. The formula is enriched with Watermelon Water and Niacinamide and comprises 93% natural ingredients, and you can definitely smell the watermelon in this one, and as a huge fan of anything watermelon scented, I find it dreamy! The Serum Primer provides a smooth base for my foundation and keeps my skin feeling plumped and juicy throughout the day. This is definitely a winner for me.

The Essence Welcome to Miami Eyeshadow Palette (£6.95) is actually what lured me in to place this recent Essence order. The packaging is to die for - those neon colours reminded me of when I used to visit Miami. This Palette contains twelve eyeshadows, in a mixture of mattes and shimmers, in colours ranging from browns to purples, golds to turquoises, pinks to creams, and is perfect for Summer, or all year round to be honest. I love the cute little flamingo and ice cream that have been embellished into the lilac and dusky pink shadows and the formula is soft, smooth and plentiful. There is a mirror on the inside of the lid and you really cannot go wrong with Essence shadows, they are such excellent value, especially for the quality.

Another product perfect for the warmer months is the Essence Kissed By The Light Illuminating Powder (£3.79 for 10g), which is available in two colour options - Star Kissed, which is the one I have here and is a multicoloured shimmer, and Sun Kissed, a brown-toned shimmer. I have actually ordered the Sun Kissed one too as I love Star Kissed so much and thought the warmer tone would be great for when I have a tan. This Powder combines highlighter, bronzer and blush in a single product, giving the complexion a unique all-over glow or you could even use the individual colours on the eyelids - I do love a multi-use product as we all know by now. The formula is buttery soft and gives a stunning lit from within glow.

Essence released the 'country' eyeshadow palettes a few years ago, but I really do love these newer versions, the packaging is so pretty. There are three available - the Miami one above, the Benvenuti a Roma, which I have here and a Welcome to London one, which for some bizarre reason isn't available in the UK, but you can get overseas. Anywho, the Essence Benvenuti a Roma Eyeshadow Palette (£6.95) comes gorgeously packaged, and features twelve eyeshadows, with once again a mix of mattes and shimmers in colours ranging from creams to peaches, bronzes to golds, browns to pops of mint green and olive. The Roma palette features an olive branch and an ice cream on two of the shadows and I am a sucker for anything cute like this. The formula is the same great formula as in the Welcome to Miami palette and the olive green has my heart!

You can find Essence online in the UK here.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
