Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Review

Tuesday 12 March 2019

Bobbi Brown is, and has been for many years, one of my go-to higher-end beauty brands. Their products always work and do what they claim to, and even though they are a higher price bracket compared to drugstore brands, they are certainly worth every penny.
I have recently been testing out the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation and the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick. With regards to the Skin Foundation, there are 25 shades available, and Bobbi Brown offer a Foundation Shade Finder both online and in-store so it is super easy to get the correct shade for you. I have quite fair skin, and so I am shade 1 Warm Ivory, which is for light skin tones with a little bit of warmth to it. Skin Foundation is a water-based, oil-free foundation which gives excellent coverage and a fresh, hydrating glow to the skin. When I wear the Skin Foundation, I can barely feel it on my skin, which is what I like in a foundation, as I don't like my makeup to feel too heavy or cakey. This formula minimises the appearance of pores, conceals imperfections and also has an SPF 15, which I am seeing more and more of in cosmetics these days. In true Bobbi Brown style, the packaging is very plain yet very classy and this foundation comes in a glass bottle, with a pump applicator enclosed in a lid, so there will be no spillage in your makeup bag. Longevity-wise, I can apply this at 8am in a morning and it is still on by the time I get home at 5pm, and so there is no reason for touch-ups which I am so glad of as I am too lazy to re-apply makeup in the middle of the day. Definitely a winner for me!
Because I suffer from redness on my cheeks, sometimes I need a slightly higher coverage, which is why I have also been trying out the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick. There are 29 shades available, which is Bobbi Brown's broadest shade range, so there should definitely be a shade to suit your skin tone. This creamy foundation stick blends into my skin so easily, and due to its skin-tone correcting pigments, it hides my redness instantaneously. The Skin Foundation Stick is suitable for all skin types and contains a blend of emollients such as olive extracts and shea butter to moisturise the skin, therefore there's no dryness when wearing it and it so super comfortable to wear. If you suffer from oily skin, this foundation contains oil-controlling minerals which help to perfect the appearance of the skin whilst also reducing shine, even combating sweat, water and humidity. If you are a little unsure how to best use a stick foundation, I would recommend using a light moisturiser or primer first - I really like the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base as it does wonders for my skin - and then lightly apply the stick across the forehead, cheeks, nose and chin and then blend using either your fingertips, a beauty sponge or a foundation brush.
The Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation costs £34.50 and the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick costs £32.00 and they can be found online at Bobbi Brown

All the Loves,

  1. I have been using their foundation for quite a long time. I am obsessed with this and I am absolutely in love with this. I did professional makeup lesson by Lina Cameron as well, which helped me a lot to improve my skills. Getting a professional makeup lesson may help you to improve your skills too.
