Lancome Cafe Bonheur Eyeshadow Palette Review + Swatches

Monday 4 March 2019

When I spied the Lancome Spring collection, I was so impressed! The range only has a few products, but the packaging and products themselves look incredible. I placed an order on their website for the eyeshadow palette and one of the lip toppers, but unfortunately they only sent the palette as the lip topper had gone out of stock. I really wanted the blush too, but again that was out of stock - I am definitely going to be keeping an eye out for a restock.
Starting with the packaging, it is so delightful - it has a basket weave effect and consists of just three colours - white, coral and hot pink - all of which I love! They are so summery, the packaging really cheers me up whilst we wait for Spring to arrive. The Cafe Bonheur Eye Palette is available in just one colourway - L'Addition S'il Vous Plait, but boy oh boy is it divine!
The palette itself feels quite weighty which I enjoy with a palette, and has a magnetic flap with a mirror on the inside of the lid. There you will also find a little tutorial guide showing you how to use the shades to create both a casual and sophisticated eye makeup look. There are ten shadow pans and you also get a double-ended shadow applicator, with a sponge on one end, which I don't really love, and a regular brush on the other side, which is great quality.
If you are a matte shadow lover, then this palette isn't for you, as it it includes five shimmer shadows and five glitter shadows and I personally LOVE it! The shimmer shades included are a magenta pink, a warm nude, a cool-toned greige, a light coral and a nude ballerina pink. Glitter-wise, we have a pink glitter, a silver one, a greige sparkle, a warm nude, and a rose gold glitter. The colours interact really well and you can create endless looks with this palette, plus due to the size this is going to make a great travel palette.
You can't tell on the photographs but each of the glitter shades also have tiny iridescent pigments within them that just give the most beautiful finish. The shimmer shades are buttery soft and blend like a dream, in fact the lighter shades also make really pretty highlighters - gotta love a multi-use product!

The Lancome Cafe Bonheur Eyeshadow Palette costs £40 and is available online at Lancome.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
