Poppy Sloane Tres Chic Smudge Proof Mascara Review

Sunday 3 March 2019

I love trying out a new mascara, I think we are all constantly on the look out for a the holy grail mascara, and so when I was recently kindly send the Poppy Sloane Tres Chic Smudge Proof Mascara, I couldn't wait to try it out.
Poppy Sloane is a brand I haven't previously come across, and so I checked out what they are all about. The company is a British-based one and they develop their own formulations in order to release new, innovative products to the beauty market. They only purchase raw materials from UK manufacturers and they never test on animals, ensuring ingredients of the highest quality.

The Tres Chic Smudge Proof Mascara arrives in sleek black and silver packaging, with the tube itself being rather plain apart from a silver band on the top and a PS on the lip. The wand of the mascara includes tiny little spikes to coat each and every lash and the head is quite flexible too, making it super easy to apply.
Poppy Sloane Mascara uses something called tubing technology, which means that they are waterproof without having sticky formulas which are insane to remove. Because the formula is waterproof, I found that there was no smudging throughout the day and no flaking which you can get with some mascaras. When applying the mascara, I was super impressed after just one coat - if you have naturally good lashes, then you will probably only need one coat, but my natural lashes are fine, fair, straight and short so I did need to apply a second coat but there was no clumping or 'spider' effects here.

I have quite sensitive eyes at times and I am a constant contact lens wearer and I had no irritation or sensitivity whilst wearing this mascara whatsoever, so if you have similar problems, this is going to work for you. Another plus with this mascara is that it feels so lightweight on your lashes, I tried three layers just to see how it would wear and I really could not feel I had it one. If you have tried other waterproof mascaras, you will know some of them can be ridiculously hard to remove, which is not great for your eyes, or the delicate skin around them. The Poppy Sloane Mascara only needs some water and a gentle touch to break the bonds and remove the mascara, which is so much healthier for you.
