You will have seen plenty of Essence Cosmetics posts on my blog, because they are one of my absolute favourite drugstore brands. They are extremely affordable, and the brand is constantly releasing new products, and products that work too, which is so important. There are endless brands and products on the market, ranging from a couple of pounds to a couple of hundred pounds, but to me, all that matters is that they do the job they are designed to do. Essence have released their Spring 2019 collection, and I was lucky enough to receive quite the handful of products and so here they are in their full glory.
I am a huge fan of their nail polishes, as they come in so many different shades and textures. Their latest polish release is the Shine Last & Go! Gel Nail Polish, which comes in over 50 shades and finishes, of which I was kindly sent three. They cost just £1.60 each for 8ml of polish, which is insane value! The colours I have here are 04 Millennial Pink, a soft baby pink, 13 Legally Pink, a stunning Summery bright red-coral, and 28 Razzle Dazzle, a super shimmery silver.
Essence have also released some lip care products to prep and care for the lips, and included within this collection is three new lip balms. The My Beauty Lip Ritual Balms cost £2.00 each and there are three available options, a Moisturizing Balm with cherry blossom extract (apologies for the American spelling), a Nourishing Balm with rice oil and a Repairing Balm with gingko leaf extract. Each balm contains Vitamin E and so they are super moisturising on the lips and leave them feeling lovely and soft.
Another new release is the #insta Perfect Liquid Highlighter (£3.50) which is available in two shades, 20 Rose Fever, for medium to dark skin tones, and the one I have here, 10 Gold Addiction. This is a really pretty light champagne liquid highlighter and as it is quite a loose formula, it is super easy to blend into the skin. As well as on the face, you could also use these liquid drops on the collarbone to give a gorgeous sheen to the skin.
We then have the The Dip Eyeliner (£2.50), which is only available in Black. This liquid eyeliner has a firm tip, so it is easy to apply accurately and creates a gorgeous winged liner look in seconds. The formula is waterproof and so this is going to be great for Summer as you can splash around in the pool without your makeup running down your face.
Something I haven't seen from Essence before is the Hey Cheeks Blush, Bronzer & Highlighter Palette (£6.00). This is in a vertically opening palette, which has a mirror on the inside of the lid. There is a gold champagne shimmer, a slightly iridescent nude pink, a coral shimmer, a matte rose, a matte bronzer and a shimmery bronzer. This will be great to take away with you as you can create so many different looks, and you could also use the shades as eye shadow too.
Essence have released four city palettes, and here I have two of them, Hello New York and G'Day Sydney. They are priced at just £7.00 each, and contain nine eye shadows, along with a mirror on the inside of the lid. Hello New York is more of a cool-toned palette, featuring greys, blues, purples and creams, some with a matte finish and others with a shimmer or iridescent finish. G'Day Sydney is a warmer toned palette and features stunning beach and sea vibes. There are creams, nudes, sands, terracottas, greens and turquoises. Again, there are some shimmer and matte shades included within this palette. Salut Paris contains cool-toned pinks and purples, whereas Ola Rio includes warmer-toned nudes and purples, so there really is something for everyone.
You can find Essence in-store and online at Wilko.
