Makeup can be expensive, and in some cases overpriced, and whilst I love luxury items, I don't always love the luxury price tag that comes with them. Whilst shopping in one of my local shopping centres recently, I had a look in the Beauty Outlet store, and discovered they had a whole range of brands, including Cover FX.
I have quite a few Cover FX products myself and I have always been really impressed with them so when I spotted them for under £10.00 I was amazed. I picked up three products, the Pressed Mineral Foundation in the shade G+40, the Contour Kit in Light-Medium and the Bronzer in the shade Sunkissed.
Originally, the Cover FX Contour Kits cost £40.00, but Beauty Outlet were selling them for just £7.99, which is lower than most drugstore brand prices. The Kit contains a mirror on the inside of the lid, three highlighting and contouring cream pans and a really beautiful cream highlighter. I imagine that these are perhaps products which have since been discontinued or the packaging has changed and that is why they are so cheap, but they all perform really well and so for me, I can live with old packaging. This cute compact palette would make a great travel companion as it is quite neat and not overly heavy.
I found the Cover FX Pressed Mineral Foundation online for £32.00, yet at Beauty Outlet it cost me just £5.99. Now I did get the shade G+40 which on reflection is a little dark for me at the moment, but come Summer and holidays, this will work well for me. There is a mirror on the inside of the lid and a sponge underneath the powder but I personally prefer to use a brush with a foundation or setting powder. I was with my Dad at the time and so if I had been on my own I probably would have taken longer to look more thoroughly through the shades.
I did see some highlighters but they didn't seem to have much pigment in them, so I gave them a miss and opted for the Cover FX Bronzer, which again cost £5.99 in comparison to the £25.00 online price tag. I chose the shade Sunkissed which is quite a pale bronze shade, but will work perfect for me at the moment. The powder itself is really soft and silky and feels lovely on the skin, and due to its slimline compact, this is great for popping in your handbag. I love that I have been able to try out higher-end products for drugstore prices and will definitely have another look in Beauty Outlet next time I am in the area.
You can find Beauty Outlet online here.
All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
