Travel Essentials: Body Care

Tuesday 11 June 2019

In my final Travel Essentials instalment I am going to be talking about everything for the body, including skincare, fragrance, tanning, nails and more.
Lancaster are renowned for their luxe body care and they have some great travel sizes, including the Lancaster Tan Preparer Body Scrub* (£15.00 for 75ml) which is great for removing any dead skin cells, leaving the skin soft and ready for the sunshine. To protect the skin whilst in the sunshine, I would highly recommend the Lancaster Sun Beauty Velvet Milk* (£15.00 for 75ml) which has a high protection SPF30 and protects against visible light and infrared protection. The Lancaster Sun Beauty Velvet Milk The Lancaster Tan Maximiser* (£15.00 for 75ml) is a great all-over-body soothing moisturiser that can be applied to the skin after a day in the sunshine to moisturise and prolong your tan. You can find them here.
I often get my hand sanitisers from Bath & Body Works in America, but I recently came across these newbies from Carex. The Carex Fun Edition Cleansing Hand Gels are available in different scents, including Bubble Gum and Love Hearts and they smell divine as well as being quick drying. I always have hand sanitisers in my handbag, carry on bag, at home, at work in my car, and they are just super handy. You can find them online here, where they cost £1.55 for 50ml.
When it comes to fragrances, I don't like to take a huge bottle on holiday with me, as it can weigh quite heavy. The Roger & Gallet Extrait De Cologne Neroli Spray* retails for £30.00 for 30ml and so you could even take it in your hand luggage. This is an uplifting, radiant scent which contains 85% naturally derived ingredients to produce a rich and intensified fragrance. You will find a note of Orange Flower Absolute which merges with citrus accords of Neroli and Immortelle for a fresh floral bouquet and it really is a lovely Summer fragrance. You can find it online here.
The Evolve Organic Beauty Satin Body Gloss* (£11.00 for 30ml) could have gone in any of my three travel posts as it is a lightweight silicone-free dry oil for the body, face and hair. However, as it leaves my skin feeling so divine and looking so much healthier I wanted to keep it for the body. The Satin Body Gloss smells incredibly luxurious and it even has a hint of gold shimmer to it, which is going to really enhance your tan this Summer. You can find it online here.
As you may have seen in my Hair Care post, Benecos do some perfectly sized (30ml) products, including the Benecos Sea Buckthorn & Orange Shower Gel* and Body Lotion*. They cost just £1.60 each and are great for weekend breaks, when you don't need a huge amount of product but still want to have your own. The Sea Buckthorn & Orange scent is super fresh and invigorating, to get you well prepared for the day ahead. You can find them online here.
Due to the fact that I travel long-haul, I like to have products that help to freshen me up on the flight, and so I like to include a packet of the Femfresh Freshening & Soothing Wipes*, which cost £1.69 for ten wipes. They contain anti-bacterial calendula and soothing mallow extract to keep you feeling fresh without any sign of irritation. You can find them online here.
One of my all-time favourite body care products is the Sanctuary Spa Wet Skin Moisture Miracle (£2.50 for 50ml) as you apply it straight after a shower whilst you are still wet and so it is so quick and easy to use. The reason behind this is so that it locks in the moisture on the top layer of the skin before you pat yourself dry to keep your hydration at a maximum. You can find it here.
If like me you are pretty pale and like to go on holiday with a bit of colour, then the Norvell Venetian Maintenance System* (£29.99) is a great little kit. It contains the Renewing Sunless Exfoliator to polish and prime the skin, the Professional Sunless Mist to give you an amazing bronzed look, the pH Balancing Cleanser to keep the skin balanced to achieve a natural golden-brown tan, the Gradual Self Tanner & CC Cream to give the face a gradual tan and the Pre-Tan Body Buff eXmitt to buff away any dead skin cells before you apply your tan. You can find it online here.
Palmer's are definitely one of the most accessible travel brands, as they have such a wide variety of products suitable for hand luggage. You can get the Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula Coconut Oil Hand Cream* (£2.49 for 60g), the Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula Body Lotion* (£1.30 for 50ml), the Palmer's Shea Formula Raw Shea Body Lotion* (£1.20 for 50ml), the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Daily Skin Therapy* (£1.15 for 50ml) and the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula 24 Hour Moisture Tub* (£1.45 for 30g). They are all such great value for such a quality brand and don't smaller sizes always look so much cuter?
If you are looking for a handbag-sized fragrance, then I would definitely recommend the Stories By Eliza Grace Eau de Parfums* (£50.00 for 15ml). There are two fragrances available, Stories By Eliza Grace No 01 and Stories By Eliza Grace No 02. Stories No 01 contains citrus notes of bergamot, grapefruit and orange blossom which then give way to cedarwood, jasmine, heliotrope and a fig-tea accord. I would say this scent would suit both a man and a woman so you could even cut down on storage by just taking the one bottle. Stories No 02 has been made using bergamot, Bulgarian rose, ginger, cardamon and green tea, with honey tobacco and cedarwood at the heart of the fragrance and Opoponaxm tonka bean, patchouli, amber and musk giving this quite a spicy and woody finish. Again, this would also be suitable for either man or woman and I love how the bottles are clear so that you can see how much fragrance you have left. You can find them online here.
As I mentioned in my Hair Travel Essentials post, Bramley do the most gorgeously-scented travel products. Here we have the Bramley Bubble Bath with Geranium, Lavender & Sweet Orange* (£4.00 for 50ml), the Bramley Body Wash with Grapefruit, Lavender & Sweet Orange* (£4.00 for 50ml) and the Bramley Body Lotion with Juniper, Sweet Orange & Bergamot* (£4.00 for 50ml). The Bramley brand take inspiration from the beauty and therapeutic properties of plants, and everything smells incredible. You can find them online here.
The quickest way to get fabulous-looking nails in just minutes is by using the Elegant Touch InstaNails*. There are endless designs and colours available and so you are sure to find something that suits you, and each pack contains 24 nails which come pre-glued, so all you have to do is peel off the backing of the glue, and press onto the nails, giving you fancy nails in no time at all. The Elegant Touch InstaNails vary in price from around £7.99 to £9.99 and you can find them online here.
When fake tanning, I always use a mitt so that the tan doesn't stain my hands, and the Bronzie Ultimate Mini Mitts* (£9.95) are the perfect travel companions. Each pack contains one exfoliating mitt and one tanning mitt, to both prep and tan the skin, in the cutest size and shape that is perfect for the face and hands to get your tan looking its best, even when you are away. You can find them online here.
A product which I have included in a previous monthly favourites post is the Hempz Blueberry, Lavender & Chamomile Herbal Body Moisturiser* and so I really wanted to include it in this as well as it is such a great product. This has such a relaxing fragrance to it and it keeps my skin super moisturising and I love the fact that it is available in a travel size too. You can find it online here.
If I am going away for two weeks, I will often take a larger bottle of perfume than the regular travel sizes as I do tend to go through perfumes quite quickly. I am throwing it back to the DKNY Be Delicious Eau De Parfum* (£55.00) today as it is such a fresh, crisp fragrance that is perfect for Spring and Summer. The bottle is designed in such a way that it makes it travel-friendly so that the lid doesn't come off and spills all over your belongings. This is the 50ml version and as the in-flight allowance is 100ml, I can even take this on the plane with me to freshen up before landing. You can find it online here.
I Love produce the most deliciously scented body washes and they are available in a pack of 30ml travel sizes too. With fragrances such as Exotic Fruits, English Rose, Violet Dreams and Glazed Raspberry, there is something for everyone, and they will have you smelling fresh and fruity in no time at all. The I Love Body Washes* also contain Vitamin B5 to keep your skin nourished and healthy. You can find them online here.
All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
