Urban Decay x Game Of Thrones Collection Review + Swatches

Wednesday 5 June 2019

2019 has been THE year for Game Of Thrones, and to celebrate, Urban Decay recently released a collaboration with the television series. The collection features an eyeshadow palette, highlight palette, lip & cheek stain,  four lipsticks and four eyeliners. I was very kindly sent the amazing eyeshadow palette and highlight palette.
The Urban Decay x Game Of Thrones Eyeshadow Palette (£45.00) comes boxed like a vintage book and once taken out of the packaging, the you receive another box which opens up like a book, featuring a large mirror on the inside lid, and then an amazing pop-up surprise. The attention to detail throughout this palette is outstanding and very creative, which we all know and love Urban Decay for.
The eyeshadow palette itself slides out and away from the main box, and is split into four sections, each with different colour themes. You will find 16 shades with matte and shimmer finishes and then four unique transformer shades, which are the larger circular pans on the right hand side.
The shades are;

Take The Black - Black glitter
White Walker - Iridescent pale blue
Frozen North - Deep turquoise with gold glitter
Free Folk - Silver shimmer
Hardhome - Golden pink shimmer
Nymeria - Matte terracotta
Winter Is Here - Brown shimmer
Weirwood Leaves - Burgundy shimmer
The Sight - Dark green with green shimmer
Winterfell - Pewter gold shimmer
Red Keep - Copper shimmer
Casterly Rock - Bronze shimmer
House Lannister - Matte peach
Lannister Red - Matte warm red/brown
King's Landing - Gold shift
Stormborn - Purple shimmer
House Targaryen - Warm gold shimmer
Dothraki - Yellow gold shimmer
Bend The Knee - Lilac and blue shift
Bay Of Dragons - Pink iridescent shift
I think that this palette is going to be something you can use all year round, due to the different colourways and finishes, and you are going to be able to find something for every occasion and season. Without a doubt, the eyeshadows are first class, and you get full coverage and finish from them all The only one I would be careful with is Winterfell, as if you go too deep into the pan, a lot of product is going to come out. But I really cannot find a fault with the quality of the shadows, but then again I rarely can with Urban Decay. With regards to the packaging, it is undoubtedly stunning, but I would have liked it to have some with some kind of cover or lid so that you could travel with it without taking the full packaging.
Moving on to the Urban Decay x Game Of Thrones Mother Of Dragons Highlight Palette (£25.00), and again I love the packaging on this too. There are hues of green and bronze and the palette features slightly raised accents on the outside. Once you open up the palette, there is a mirror on the inside of the lid, and then three large pans featuring the highlighters. The three shades include;
Drogon - Iridescent soft pink
Viserion - Soft champagne shimmer
Rhaegal - Rose gold shimmer
Both Drogon and Viserion suit my fair to light skin beautifully, but Rhaegal is too dark for me to use as a highlighter, however it makes a very pretty eyeshadow especially on blue eyes. The texture of the highlighters is silky soft and they feel lightweight on the skin, blending super easily. You can definitely tell that this is a finely-milled powder, as they feel almost creamy on the skin. I have used and loved Urban Decay highlighters for a very long time, and I went through three of the Sin compacts as they just look so pretty without being too in-your-face, but due to the way they are milled, you can build up the bling until your heart's content.
This is definitely one collection which both Urban Decay and Games Of Thrones fans are not going to want to miss. You can find the collection online at Urban Decay here.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
