Travel Essentials: Hair Care

Thursday 6 June 2019

This is the first of three instalments all about the perfect hair care, skincare and body care products to take travelling with you. Whether it is a short weekend break or two weeks abroad, you will find plenty of inspiration. Today we are starting with hair care.
Philip Kingsley is one of the biggest brands in hair care and they also do very decent travel-sized products including the Philip Kingsley Body Building Shampoo and Body Building Conditioner* (£9.50 each). Whether you are travelling or are wanting to try out the products before committing to full size, this duo offers gentle cleansing, making fine hair manageable and thickening the appearance of each individual strand from root to tip. You can find them online here.
Whilst on the plane, I often like to freshen my hair up as being in that kind of environment can often leave your hair feeling and looking less than its best. I like to pop a little can of Batiste* (£1.50 each) in my hand luggage as they are just 50ml and so they are perfect for on-board allowances. There are plenty of fragrances available too, including Blush, Cherry and Tropical to leave your hair smelling gorgeous and fresh. You can find them online here.
When you are spending a lot of time in the pool, your hair can sometimes dry out due to the chlorine and the heat, and so I always take a couple of sachets of hair mask with me. I love the Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula Deep Conditioning Protein Pack* (£2.09) as it is suitable for dry, damaged and colour treated hair and so it conditions the hair really well and leaves it looking and feeling in amazing condition. They are also super travel-friendly compared to a big tub of hair mask. You can find them online here.
If you prefer non-aerosol products, I would recommend the Tints Of Nature Dry Shampoo* (£9.99). This instantly refreshes the hair using a unique, vegan friendly blend of natural and organic ingredients specially formulated to leave the hair feeling soft, smooth and clean. It is fragrance-free and the powder soaks up oil straight away, plus the nozzle allows for precise application, which is perfect for getting into the roots. You can find it online here.
Bramley is an all-natural brand that makes the most delightful skincare, body care and hair care products. They offer travel sized bottles of their products which each hold 50ml, making them great for a weekend away. Here I have the Bramley Shampoo and Conditioner* (£4.00 each) with Lemon, Mandarin and Rosemary which smells so invigorating and the Hair & Body Wash with Clementine, Lavender and Sweet Orange Essential Oils* (£3.50) which is from their Little B range, which has been created for your little babes, and is free of harmful chemicals and artificial colours. You can find them online here.
If I am going away for longer than a weekend break, the mini Batiste cans just don't last long enough for me, and so I find the IGK Dry Shampoos give me the right amount of product without me having to haul a huge can travelling with me. There are three cleanse levels, starting with IGK Jet Lag Invisible Dry Shampoo* (£10.00) for a lightweight cleanse, the IGK Direct Flight Multi-Tasking Matcha Dry Shampoo* (£10.00) for a medium cleanse and the IGK First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo* (£10.00) for a deeper cleanse, for those who get quite oily hair. You can find them online here.
Aloe Vera is one of my favourite scents, as it is just so refreshing and clean smelling, and so I had to include the Benecos Aloe Vera Shampoo* which is available in this cute 30ml size which will do at least two hair washes depending on the length of your hair. Benecos is a natural brand and is fully vegan too and at just £1.60, this Shampoo is also excellent value. Benecos also do travel-sized body care so be sure to check that out in my next Travel Essentials instalment. You can find the Aloe Vera Shampoo online here.
All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
