MAC Electric Wonder Collection Review

Monday 29 July 2019

When I first saw the MAC Electric Wonder collection, I wanted it all, but unfortunately my budget doesn't stretch that far. As I was wanting a new bronzer, I opted for the Next To Nothing Bronzing Powder and then as I couldn't resist the Electric Wonder Iridescent Powder, that also found its way into my online basket.
The MAC Electric Wonder collection features five lipglosses, two eyeshadow palettes, a face palette, two bronzers, two iridescent powders, two brushes and five lipsticks, so it is a pretty heavy collection. The packaging is absolutely stunning, and one of my favourite that MAC have ever done, with its pink, gold and white grey marble effect and sleek matte and gold packaging, it looks stunning.
The MAC Next To Nothing Bronzing Powder (£23.50) is available in two shades, the one I have here, Canyon Dreamin', which is the lightest of the two, and Sun-Soaked Strip. The compacts of course have that gorgeous marble effect and feel satisfying to hold. They have a mirror on the inside of the lid and 10g of bronzing powder. Even though it is advertised as a next to nothing bronzer, I personally think this still gives a regular coverage like any other bronzer, which I was a little disappointed with as I wanted something quite sheer. However, you can of course build it up, or go in as gentle as you can with it, so all is not lost. The Bronzer is very finely milled and you can really tell when you apply it as it is silky soft and there is no caking or bunching up, even towards the end of the day. I am fair to light skinned, and during winter this would probably be slightly too dark for me, but at the moment it works really well on my skin tone.
Moving on to the MAC Electric Wonder Iridescent Powder (£25.50), this is also available in two shades, the one I have here, Serenity Seeker, and a darker variety, Into Eternity. It is always so hard to pick up shimmer, glitter and iridescence on a photograph, but in person this is truly stunning, and looks like a work of art! The main part of the powder is a soft blush pink, and there are warm-toned swirls in there, lighter gold ones and lots of pretty gold glitter. Just like with the Bronzer, you do get a mirror on the inside of the lid too. This can be used as a highlighter, a blush, or lightly swirled all over the face, although I would probably also use this on my arms and decolletage area during the Summer months to add some shimmer and glow to my skin. If you prefer a go-all-out highlight, then this possibly wouldn't be for you, as it is a more natural finish, but oh so beautiful!
You can find the MAC Electric Wonder Collection online here.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
