Monthly Favourites: July 2019

Wednesday 31 July 2019

I cannot believe we are onto another monthly favourites, this year is just flying by! I never like to wish my time away but I go to Orlando in December and I just cannot wait, so part of me hates how quick time goes, but another part of me is always so excited to go to Orlando, my happy place. Anywho, here are some products I have been loving this month.
Whilst browsing Superdrug, the MUA makeup brand, which is already super cheap, had a third off, and so I picked up the MUA Blushed Matte Blush in the shade Atomic Tangerine (£1.65). It has a pretty rose design embossed into it and the colour is stunning, and works really well with a tan for a pop of coral on the cheeks. They also have other shades available, but this one really caught my eye. You can find it online at Superdrug here.
Last year in a gift with purchase goody bag, I received the NudeStix Eyebrow Stylus, and it has been such a favourite of mine, that I recently re-purchased it, and whilst I was doing so I picked up the NudeStix Magnetic Eye Colour Pencil (£20.00) in the shade Twilight. Their products all come amazingly presented, in a keepsake tin, complete with a hints and tips sheet and a pencil sharpener. The shade is a really pretty light brown shimmer, and you only need a hint of a swipe to get a full coverage look and they are totally budge-proof too. So pretty! You can find NudeStix online at Cult Beauty here.

A product I received in my latest The Vegan Kind Beauty Box was the Ben & Anna Natural Soda Deodorant (£7.00) in the fragrance Persian Lime. Ben & Anna is a vegan and cruelty free brand and their deodorants are 100% natural and contain 0% aluminium. I have been trying other natural deodorants and I must admit they work just as well as other deodorants out there, plus the Persion Lime fragrance smells incredible and is such a fresh scent for first thing in the morning. You can find Ben & Anna online here.
I really loved my LASplash Golden Gatsby Eyeshadow Palette and so I wanted to try something else from the brand. I chose the LASplash Hydro Liquid Highlight (£10.00) in the shade Radiate. The Hydro Liquid Highlights come in cute little glass bottles with a glass dropper applicator so that you can control the amount of product you are using. Radiate is a golden pink shade with silver glitter running throughout it and as the glitter is quite chunky, I have actually been using this as a liquid eyeshadow as it is so pretty on the eyes. You can find them online at Beauty Bay here.
I have wanted to try the Isle Of Paradise tanning brand for ages, and received this in another gift with purchase goody bag - what can I say? I love a bargain! This is the Isle Of Paradise Medium Self-Tanning Water (£18.95) and I must admit I was a bit sceptical when I read that it was a tanning water. However, I was pleasantly surprised! Even though the Tanning Water is green, it contains colour correcting actives which also even out the skin tone, so not only do you get a stunning golden tan, but it also evens out your skin tone so that there are no streaks. You simply spritz it all over the skin, and leave for 4-6 hours whilst your tan develops! Easy. You can find Isle Of Paradise online here.
I tend to put off buying a new Beauty Blender as long as possible, as I have gone through at least 15 easily since they were first released back in the day. However, I always think £17.00 is pretty pricey for a beauty sponge, but I know that it is reliable, and does the job on my skin better than any other beauty sponge. I do own and use other beauty sponges, but nothing quite compares to the original. This time I picked it up in the Tropical Bubblegum colour, a pretty bright pink complete with tropical fruit decorating the outer packaging. You can find it online at Cult Beauty here.
I don't always tend to wear makeup for work, mainly because I work for myself so when I come to my office, I don't usually see many people and so I like to give my skin a break. Therefore, I wanted to keep a moisturiser at work so that if my skin felt a little dry, I could top it up during the day. I chose the Garnier Organic Fresh Lemongrass Daily Moisturiser (£7.99) as it was on offer at Boots at the time. It comes in a handy 50ml tube and has a lightweight gel texture which is really refreshing during the warmer months. It also smells incredible and the lemongrass reminds me of being in a spa, and not in my office so that's always nice. You can find it at Boots here.
I don't know about you, but I struggle to sleep during Summer, it is either too hot, or the birds outside my window are going full pelt like they're at an all-night karaoke bar. So, my under eyes need plenty of concealing. I picked up the NYX HD Studio Photogenic Concealer (£6.00) in the shade CW02 Fair, which works well on my light to skin, however I would say if you have fair skin, to go lighter. This concealer feels nice and light on my skin and doesn't cake up throughout the day, and at £6.00 you really can't go wrong for such a great cover-up as it blends beautifully. You can find it online at NYX here.
I have been using Tangle Teezer hair brushes since they first came out, but I fancied a change as they don't seem to last me that long. So whilst recently placing an order from America, I added the Kristin Ess Medium Detangling Brush ($14.00/£11.00) to my basket. Kristin Ess haircare is readily available in the UK, but not all products are, and so I ordered this one from Target. It is rose gold and the bristles are lightweight and so they don't tug or pull on my hair, and neither does the brush cause any damage to my hair, which some hair brushes can do. You can find Kristin Ess in the UK here or in the US at Target here.
Primark Beauty recently revealed a Grapefruit skincare range, and so I picked up the PS... Grapefruit Jelly Face Mask (£1.00). I adore their face masks because they are so affordable and this grapefruit one smells so refreshing. I even put this one in the fridge when I knew the weather was going to be hot, and so when I came to use it, it was so cold and hydrating on the skin. This is perfect for hydrating and revitalising the skin. You can find Primark online here, where they often show you what is new in store.
A body lotion I have really enjoyed this month is the Lavido Aromatic Mandarin, Orange & Bergamot Body Lotion ($19.00/£15.00) which I received in a previous FabFitFun box. As with the Garnier Lemongrass Moisturiser, I love anything that reminds me of being in a spa, and this Body Lotion does just that. Texture-wise, this is slightly balmy, and it sinks into the skin instantaneously, which I love as I have no patience for standing around waiting for body lotions to dry. It feels silky soft as I apply it to my skin and it leaves my skin feeling so smooth and smelling incredible. You can find it online here. You can get $15.00 off your first FabFitFun box by using my link here, which will also give me $15.00 credit.
Whilst on the subject of FabFitFun, another product I received in my box is the Ouai Leave In Conditioner (£22.00). They honestly have some of the best products and I have been wanting to try the brand for ages now, and they send full sizes, which we all know doesn't happy very often in beauty boxes. I think leave-in conditioners are so great because they are very low maintenance, you literally spritz into damp hair, and either blow dry or leave to dry naturally and off you go, letting the product do its job. This smells divine and is great for detangling, moisturising and fighting frizz. You can find it online in the UK here.
I have been a highlighter magpie for a good few years now, but during the Summer months, I like something a little lighter than a full-on disco glow and so I picked up the C.Y.O. Bronzing & Highlighting Palette in the shade In The Clouds as it was reduced from £5.00 to £1.50 at Boots. As much as I love my bougie products, I do love a bargain too. I definitely wouldn't be able to bronze with this, but the five pretty pearlescent shades make for a really gorgeous highlight on the cheeks without being over the top. You can find it online here.

The Love Beauty And Planet skincare and body care products are so beautiful, and I received the Love Beauty And Planet Coconut Water & Mimosa Flower Hand Cream in a recent Target Beauty Box that I get sent from America. I can't seem to find the hand creams over here yet, but I am sure they will make their way over. I adore anything coconut scented, and this hand cream is really hydrating without taking ages to dry or leaving a greasy residue after application. You can find Love Beauty And Planet online in the UK here.
I am 90% sure I have included this in a previous favourites, but I am onto another pot I love it that much, and so here is the Vaseline Creme Brulee Lip Therapy. Do I love it the most because it is in the cutest little pot ever? Yes, yes I probably do, but I love creme brulee and this is so good for the lips, as it really helps to keep my lips smooth and hydrated as well as being super cheap! I tend to get mine from Amazon.com here, but I am pretty sure you can find them on eBay too.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
