Kiehl's Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream Review

Friday 16 August 2019

As far as I am aware, the Kiehl's Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream was discontinued for a while, however it has currently been re-released and I have recently been putting it to the test. I have always had a great love for Kiehl's as a brand, as well as for their products. They have more than stood the test of time, starting out back in 1851 as an apothecary, and are now a worldwide provider of high quality, natural and organic skincare products. Here is how I got on with the scrumptious Kiehl's Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream.
Firstly, this is a product which contains 99.6% certifiable organic ingredients and given how difficult and expensive it can be to source and create a product from all-organic ingredients, it is very impressive that this moisturiser falls just short of 100%. The two key ingredients within this product are Manuka Honey, sourced from New Zealand and containing the highest levels of polyphenols (powerful antioxidants) which help to strengthen and repair the skin's barrier, as well as aiding recovery and Korean Red Ginseng Root, which is a much-acclaimed ancient botanical that helps to increase cell turnover and improve the skin's texture, vitality and glow. Sounds dreamy right?

The first thing I noticed that was a little different with this re-release is the way you dispense the product. It comes in a traditional Kiehl's tub, but then the cream itself is covered, and you simply press down and swipe your finger across the raised part, to release the product, which comes out of a little hole. I love this, because not only is it more hygienic, but you are not wasting product, as it only allows a small amount out per use.
This is quite a rich moisturiser, however, it isn't overly thick or 'greasy' and soothes and smooths my skin immediately upon application, kind of cocooning it a little. If you suffer from oiliness,  I do myself, this product is going to help combat that and I have no problems when applying makeup on to my skin afterwards due to the velvety soft texture. You can definitely smell the Manuka Honey, yet this is definitely not an over-fragranced cream and so you have no worries about it if you tend to be quite sensitive.

I find that the Kiehl's Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream does a lot more than its sole use as a moisturiser. I do have slight scarring on my chin and cheeks, and this helped to diminish that scarring, and my skin tone feels a lot more even, which in turn gives a better base for makeup. My skin feels super soft and nourished and my sometimes-dull looking and feeling skin is no more, and has been replaced with a healthy glow.
The Kiehl's Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream retails at £52.00 for 50ml, but to me, it is definitely worth a splurge, due to such amazing organic ingredients and as you only need a small amount per application, this will definitely last you a decent amount of time. You can find it at Kiehl's here.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
