Benefit Cookie & Tickle Highlighters Review + Swatches

Saturday 21 September 2019

Benefit's highlighter game hasn't been the strongest on the market, for such an innovative brand. They had the High Beam Liquid Highlighter way before liquid highlighters were a big things, but apart from Twinkle, which was a VERY gentle highlighter, there hasn't really been that much to shout about in the highlighter stakes. This year they released two Cheekleader Palettes which included bronzers, blushes and two brand new highlighter shades, which have now been released separately, namely Benefit Cookie Highlighter and Benefit Tickle Highlighter.
When I first saw the Cheekleader Palettes, I did love the look of both Cookie and Tickle, but I had or had tried all the other pans in the palettes and so I didn't want to fork out in the region of £100+ for two palettes just to get the highlighter shades. So I was jolly well glad when they were recently released as separate Box O' Powders.
If you are familiar with the Benefit Box O' Powders, you will probably know that they are box-shaped (obvs) and come with a tiny mirror on the inside of the lid, and then a brush on top of the powder. I am pretty sure I have never used these brushes, but I guess they are handy for travelling with. Cookie is the more champagne-toned highlighter of the two and the silky-soft formula gives an almost-wet look to the highlighter once you apply it to the skin.
Tickle is almost a rose-gold pink colour, and again has that diamond-like finish. I think both shades would be suitable for the majority of skin-tones to be honest. I have fair to light skin and they both look stunning on me, but I think they would also look great on warmer skintones too. Due to Tickle having that pink tone, I do think this would make a really pretty blush shade as well as a highlighter and that Cookie would make a beautiful eyeshadow - y'all know how I love a multi-use product!
I am definitely very impressed with these new releases - I think Benefit have been lacking a little lately, and re-releasing products that have already been on the market for years, so it is great to see something new and exciting! The Cookie and Tickle Highlighters cost £26.00 each and you can find them online at Benefit here.
All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx

P.S. I tried my best, but the camera doesn't pick up the true colour of the highlighters, nor how stunning they are.
