Every Summer, Estee Lauder release their Bronze Goddess collection, and it always looks stunning, but they aren't the cheapest of products and so previously I haven't ever splurged on any of the items. However, when I saw the Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Illuminating Powder Gelee, and I had won a bit of money at bingo (just call me Granny Kathryn), I decided to go ahead and treat myself.
The Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Illuminating Powder Gelee comes in the most beautiful compact, it really is like a piece of art, with an art-deco style rose gold style complete with tortoiseshell disc on the top. Once you open the compact up, there is a mirror on the inside of the lid, and then a stunning pattern embossed onto the product itself.
There are three shades available, Mirage, the warmest tone, Solar Crush, the middle shade and the one I have here, Heat Wave, which is the lightest as I have fair to light coloured skin. It does feel like a powder when you put you swipe it from the compact, but looks more gel-like once applied onto the skin.
Heat Wave is a very pretty champagne shade with a hint of soft pearlescent pink and it blends gorgeously into the skin to create a sheen of shimmer, without being too glitzy, so it leaves a more natural highlight than full-on bling, perfect for Summer. I know we are now in September, but for me, this product will last me all year round. Plus I have my holiday on the 1st December to Orlando, so I will still be loving my summery products then.
Even though it is named as an illuminating product, Estee Lauder do also call this a bronzer, and you could definitely apply it on top of a bronzer to add a touch of shimmer, but for me, it would be too much of a highlight all over the face than a bronzer.
At £38.00, this isn't going to be within everyone's budget and initially it wasn't really in mine, but it is such a beautiful compact and product that it is definitely a lovely treat to have. You can find it online at Estee Lauder here.
