Latest In Beauty x Sainsbury's Beauty Awards 2019 Beauty Edit Box

Thursday 12 September 2019

I have said it before and I will say it again, Latest in Beauty do the best beauty boxes around! You can pick your own products from a selection or choose one of the frequently updated collection boxes. Last week saw the releases of the Latest In Beauty x Sainsbury's Beauty Awards Edit and I was literally about to buy it, and the postman knocked on my door with one as Latest in Beauty had very kindly sent me one to try out for my blog.
The box contains a whopping 14 products, with the vast majority being full-sized, and so full-sized in fact that everything wouldn't fit in the box and two products came packaged alongside it. So, with the Sainsbury's Beauty Awards, you simply try out this box of products and then vote for your favourites when voting opens on 18th September. Let's take a look at what is inside...
The Love Beauty & Planet Muru Muru Butter and Rose Blooming Colour Shampoo & Conditioner are both full-sized products and you get a whopping 400ml per bottle. This brand is originally from America I believe, and I am so glad they are now stocked here in the UK as their products are beautiful and are vegan too. The Blooming Colour range is specifically for colour-treated hair to keep it vibrant and healthy and smelling incredible. They retail for £7.50 a bottle, so you have £15.00 worth of product here alone.
We then have the Beauty Pro Foot & Callus Peel (full size worth £7.49), and I have wanted to try a foot peel like this for ages, and what better time after spending months wearing flip flops. This foot peel contains over 16 botanical and fruit extracts and removes dead skin after 7 days. I think this is going to be one of those beauty products that half grosses you out and half mesmerises you as you see how much dry skin comes off the feet.
For the man in your life, Latest in Beauty have included a sachet of the Barber Pro Face Putty (worth £1.65). This is a black peel-off mask that contains activated charcoal to clarify the skin whilst cleansing deep into the pores to remove any impurities. I love sachet-sized products as they are so great for travelling with and I still have my holiday ahead.
Next up is the Super Facialist Vitamin C+ Brighten Skin Renew Cleansing Oil (Full size at 200ml worth £11.00). I haven't tried anything from Super Facialist for a long time, so it will be nice to be able to try something new. Vitamin C is all the rage at the moment, and cleansing oils are especially delightful for this time of year, once the weather starts turning colder and our skin needs a little extra nourishing. It is worth noting that even if you have oily skin, cleansing oils will not make your oiliness any worse, and will in fact help to control the sebum production.
I don't know about you, but I am forever in a state of tiredness and I use the Liz Earle Eye Bright like its going out of fashion. A much cheaper yet just as effective alternative is the Beauty Pro Eye Therapy Under Eye Mask (£1.65). This pair of eye patches contain collagen to plump up that often dehydrated area, as well as green tea to revitalise to awaken the eyes and under eye area so that you look and feel a lot fresher.
On the other side of things, to help you get a better night's sleep, Latest in Beauty and Sainsbury's have included a 50ml bottle of the Feather & Down Sweet Dreams Pillow Spray (£3.50). I have tried this product before and it smells heavenly - simply spritz some on your pillow an hour or so before bedtime, let it works its way into your bedding, and then prepare for a sweeter night's sleep. I think I am actually going to save this 50ml bottle for my holidays as it is the perfect size and will hopefully help with my jetlag.
For the face, you will find a Natura Avocado Infused Sheet Mask (full size worth £4.95). Natura is a brand new to myself, but is a part of the Beauty Pro brand, and so I just know this is going to be a gorgeous face mask to use. I love sheet masks as they are so easy to pop on and off, and I always take a sheet mask on the plane with me to keep my skin from drying out. This particular mask is suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin, and helps to hydrate and repair the skin so again, this is great for Autumn/Winter.
Another brand and product which is new to myself is the Happy Naturals 2-in-1 Heat Protection Spray (full size 150ml £5.50). I think one of the things I love the most about beauty boxes is that you do get to try brands and products you might not normally come across. This heat protection spray conditions and protects the hair against heat-induced damage and it smells incredible due to it having a plum fragrance to it, leaving your hair looking, feeling and smelling divine.
The final sample size in this box is the Urban Veda Radiance Day Cream. You get 10ml which works out at £3.79, and so it is still a great size to trial out. I have tried and loved Urban Veda skincare and body care before, and with them being a natural skincare brand, they produce some of the loveliest products. The Turmeric + Botanics Radiance Day Cream naturally brightens, replenishes the skin as well as soothing dry skin, making it a great little pick me up when your skin is looking and feeling a little dull.
One product I am very excited to try is the L'Oreal Organic Soothing Lavandin Smooth & Glow Facial Oil (Full size 30ml £11.99). I have tried a couple of the other L'Oreal Organic skincare products before and they always smell absolutely stunning. Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive, this luxurious, non-greasy oil can be used either in the morning or both morning and night to leave the skin looking and feeling more supple and nourished. It comes in a little glass bottle with a glass dropper and so it is super easy to control the release of the product.
I haven't tried the Sainsbury's Boutique Makeup Collection for a good year or two now as we no longer have a Sainsbury's store in my town, so I am really pleased to see the Boutique Illuminating Drops (full size 12ml £4.00) in this box. They come in the shade Pink, which is a really pretty and delicate shade which adds a stunning illuminating glow to the skin and can be used on its own, or mixed in with your foundation for a subtle all-over glow.
Another American brand which I love is HASK Haircare, and you get a 50ml HASK Argan Oil Repairing Deep Conditioner Sachet (£2.49) within the box too. I have featured these sachets and HASK on my blog before, and so I know how good these are for the hair. The Argan Oil Mask is perfect for strengthening, restoring and smoothing dry, damaged hair, and will be the perfect treat for your hair throughout these colder months.
Last, but of course not least, we have the L'Oreal Age Perfect Golden Age Rosy Radiant Eye Cream (full size, 15ml £14.99). Now, it does state on the front of the packaging that this is for very mature and dull skin, but it also says that it corrects sagging and stubborn dark circles. As someone who has dark circles relentlessly, I am definitely going to be putting this to the test. I no longer have any Nannas to give it to either, but if this is something you don't need at your age, then you can of course gift it as a present.
The Latest in Beauty x Sainsbury's Beauty Awards Edit costs £25.00 and is worth around £90.00, which is an incredible saving! You can find it online at Latest in Beauty here, but be quick because they will sell out!

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
