Benefit Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer Review

Thursday 17 October 2019

I have a love/hate relationship with Benefit Cosmetics, and I am not afraid to say so. You don't often see any revolutionary new releases, and they often use previous products and change them slightly as a new release. However, I am also a sucker for a new product, and I really wanted to try the new Benefit Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer.
The Benefit Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer does look pretty cute, with a pencil style packaging and there are 12 shades available, which is definitely a step up from their usual 4-6 shades. I opted for shade 2, and I have fair to light skin, and the reason I didn't go for the lightest shade was because I have very dark under eye circles, and so sometimes when I use a lighter shade it doesn't always look right.

It is advisable to choose a slightly warmer toned concealer if you have dark under eye circles, even though people say you should go lighter. This is because it will change the pigmentation of that darkness, and rather than looking like you have extremely bright under eye circles, it will look much warmer and blend it better.
The concealer has a good-sized sponge applicator with a slanted tip, and I do prefer this size to the Tarte Shape Tape as because I have such a small eye area, sometimes the larger wands don't get into the tiny crevices around my eyes. The Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer is a full coverage concealer, which it is marketed as and I can wholly agree on that, so for my under eyes, that is fabulous.

I had a look through the ingredients to see what it contains as as soon as you apply it to the skin, it gives an almost cooling effect, but I couldn't see an ingredient that stood out for that. However, as someone who always has tired eyes, I love this about it as it helps to awaken my eyes early in a morning. It does say 24 hour wear, but if you read Kathryn's Loves regularly, you will know I do not ever wear makeup for that amount of time, my skin would hate me and I have no reason to. Although I can say that once blended into the skin, this does not budge!
Is it cakeless? That's the main claim on this concealer, and under my eyes, I would fully agree with that, as it looks smooth and is an excellent concealer. However, because at the moment I have quite dry skin, if I use it anywhere else on the face, it does leave a little texture. But, under the eyes, this concealer works wonders and I would highly recommend it!

The Benefit Boi-ing Cakeless Concealer retails for £18.50 for 5ml and you can find it online at Benefit Cosmetics here.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
