5 Sparkly Makeup Favourites For Party Season

Tuesday 3 December 2019

Party season is here! Although to me, I love anything glowy, glittery and sparkly all year round, and definitely consider myself a bit of a magpie. At this time of year, makeup brands go all out with their glitz and glam products and so I thought I would show you five of my favourite sparkly products this Christmas time.
First up, we have the Bobbi Brown Luxe Jewel Lipstick in the shade Ruby Slipper, from their limited edition Luxe Gems Collection. This is the epitome of glitter in a lipstick. The whole thing looks bejewelled! The formula is pearl-infused and it delivers silky, comfortable, full-coverage colour in just one swipe. Even though this lipstick is full of glitter and sparkle, it isn't drying on the lips and I actually find it quite hydrating. At £28.00, this isn't the cheapest product out there, but it is a little piece of luxury and the perfect red for the party season. I loved this so much that I have since been and bought one of the other three shades, Rose Quartz. You can find them online at Bobbi Brown here.
For the eyes, I have fallen in love with the Marc Jacobs See-Quins Glam Glitter Eyeshadow. This is a glitter-packed eyeshadow that contains bold pigment and maximum sparkle that gives the lids super-shimmering dimension. This is a limited edition product and there are four shades available, the one I have here is Smash Glitz, a pinky mauve, then there is Glitter Rock, a gunmetal silver, Pop Rox, a blackened plum and Star Dust, a rosy copper. Smash Glitz really suits my fair colouring, and I knew this would last me all year round, which was why I chose this particular shade. The packaging is gorgeous too, with a textured super-glittery lid. The Marc Jacobs See-Quins Glam Glitter Eyeshadow costs £23.00 and you can find it online at Harvey Nichols here.
One of my favourite shimmery lip products is the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer and I have all three shades, but one which I find great for this time of year is the shade Diamond Milk. This is a shimmering wash of milky pearl that is like a dewy liquid highlighter for the lips. Gloss Bomb lip glosses have a large wand that makes it easy to apply and their formula contains conditioning shea butter. I love that the formula isn't sticky or gloopy and it has a slight peach-vanilla fragrance to it too. Diamond Milk can of course be worn on its own for a hint of shine and shimmer to the lips, or over your favourite lipstick. Gloss Bomb costs £16.00 and you can find it in-store and online at Boots here.
I have been wanting to try the Huda Beauty Matte & Metal Melted Shadows for ages, and I recently received one in a gift with purchase goody bag. I received the duo Faux Fur and Bamboo Hoops. Faux Fur is a matte light nude shade and Bamboo Hoops is a glittering light copper. The matte side of the wand has a double-sided flat sponge applicator, whereas the metal side has a thin paint brush style applicator, so that you can apply it as finely as you need. Once you apply these to the eyes, there is no budging, and if you want your eye makeup to stay in place until way past midnight, then I would definitely recommend these, plus there are so many gorgeous colour options to choose from. The Huda Beauty Matte & Metal Melted Shadows cost £22.00 each and you can find them online at Feel Unique here.
Just because I am so obsessed with the Marc Jacobs holiday collection, I am also including the Marc Jacobs Enamored Dazzling Gloss Lip Lacquer because it really is stunning. I have the shade Genie Kiss, which is an ethereal light mauve pink full of gold and pink micro glitter and it is beyond gorgeous, although it doesn't show up that well on camera. Just like the See-quins Eyeshadow, it has a fabulous texturised glitter lid which this time holds a double-sided flat sponge applicator. The texture of the gloss is beautiful, and there is no stickiness and I find it non-drying and really comfortable to wear. There are three other shades available, and I would have bought the entire collection had I had the money! The glosses retail for £22.00 each and you can find them in-store and online at Harvey Nichols here.
All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
