Five Winter Lip Favourites

Monday 23 December 2019

It is that time of year, when all the berry and red toned lipsticks are more on trend than ever, and I am fully embracing it. I have put together five of my current favourite winter lip products.
First up, we have the Cargo Essential Lip Color (American brand) in the shade Paris, which retails for £12.50. I actually received this in an American beauty box, and I was so thrilled with it as I haven't tried a lot from the brand before. It comes in a sleek matte silver tube and the shade is a rich berry red, perfect for the party season. The formula is super creamy and long-wearing and I found that once applied it didn't smear or budge, which I find is extra important when wearing red lipstick. You can find it online at Strawberry Net here.
My friend Lucy (Lucy Earnshaw, blog here) very kindly gave me my next Winter lip choice which is the Ciate Liquid Velvet Moisturising Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade Voodoo (£17.00). This gorgeous deep wine shade won't be for all tastes, but I personally love it to give a real vampy look. The formula is super creamy, which surprised me for a matte lipstick, but also which I love as sometimes matte liquid lipsticks can be quite drying on the lips, and at a time when the weather dries out our skin, it is definitely great to have something more moisturising. You can find it online at Ciate here.
I couldn't not include a nude as some days I want something more wearable, and so I have included the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in the shade Baci (£16.00). Baci is a warm pink toned nude that I imagine will work on the majority of skin tones and I find it such an easy shade to wear. You get quite a lot of product and the Stila Stay All Day formula is one of the best I have come across for longevity. The Liquid Lipstick has a sponge slanted tip applicator and so application is a doddle. You can find it online at Stila here.
When I went to the Glamour Beauty Festival in Manchester, there was a little grabber machine on the No7 stall and I won this No7 Matte Lip Crayon in the shade Deep Plum (£9.00) and I have been loving the formula. It is a chunky crayon-style lip product and I find it so easy to apply on the go. The formula is matte, but again isn't drying on the lips because it has that softer, smoother formula and the colour is a soft rose plum shade. You can find it in-store and online at Boots here.
Of course I had to include a product from the launch of the season, the Shane Dawson x Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in the shade Are You Filming? (£16.00). I have well over 20 Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks as the formula is second to none, and so I opted for the shade Are You Filming?, a bright cherry red, which I thought would be perfect for the festive season, and particularly Christmas Day. It does have a slight scent of Diet Root Beer, which isn't my favourite, but you can only really smell it if you put your nose too close to the applicator, which isn't something I do on a daily basis haha. You can find it online at Beauty Bay here (when it is in stock).
All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
