There are a couple of beauty brands out there that I often look at and lust after, but never buy. Sometimes it is because it is simply out of my price range, and sometimes it is because it is an American brand that you cannot get in this country. Pat McGrath fits into both of those categories. Her prices are up there, and her products are bougie AF, but oh my gosh they look so beautiful too! When I saw the Pat McGrath holiday collection, I looked on her website and saw that they were now shipping to the UK. Well, this just got dangerous. I decided to spend 50 whole English pounds on the Pat McGrath Labs Blitz Astral Quad Eyeshadow, although shipping was free!
I won't lie, I do think the shadows themselves look slightly different online, and do I regret spending £50 on four eyeshadows? Only time will tell, but it isn't something I would go round doing frequently that's for sure. The Pat McGrath Labs Blitz Astral Quad Eyeshadow palette comes wrapped in a cardboard unicarton which is illustrated with diamonds and rubies, and fastens with a little string.
The palette itself looks quite plain packaging wise, with black gloss plastic, some gold logos on the front and then matte gold on the bottom. As simple and plain as it looks, the palette does have a nice weight to it, and it does feel higher end. You then open up the palette to reveal a mirror on the inside of the lid and then the four shadows inside. There are three colourway options and I chose Nocturnal Nirvana, as I thought if I was going for something so bougie, I may as well choose something completely different.
Nocturnal Nirvana features luxe jewel tones of vivid turquoise, rich purple, duo chrome emerald and a classic sparkling gold. The hybrid formulas combine powder, cream and fluid textures which give high pick-up with an opulent payoff for the ultimate in eyeshadow gorgeousness. These colours aren't going to be everyone's cup of tea, and I will admit, they aren't something I would wear on a daily basis, but they are just so unique, and so, so beautiful and I know I will feel extra special every time I wear them.

* Blitz Purple - Vivid Purple Sheen
Because these are shimmery, glittery shades, they don't show up on camera very well, which is a shame as it doesn't show you just how unique and special they are. Without doubt these are expensive eyeshadows, but when you use them and see them, you can feel a difference and I do understand why they are pricier than most. I would buy from Pat McGrath again, and now I just want to try everything!
