I love trying out new foundations, as I think we are all always trying to find the one that makes our skin look flawless. I saw the Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Foundation on Tati Westbrook's YouTube channel and it sounded pretty amazing and Tati gave it pretty good reviews, and I know she is always honest with her thoughts on products.
Recently, Harvey Nichols had an amazing gift with purchase offer and so one of the items I chose was the Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Foundation. The Foundation is available in 30 shades, which is a great selection, and I went for the second lightest shade 120 Ivory. After trying the foundation, this shade is great for me now, whilst my skin is at its lightest during the Winter months, but during Summer I would definitely need to go darker.
The Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Foundation features something called ActiveForce technology that self-refreshes non-stop. It is a long-wearing fluid foundation that synchronises with the skin and helps resist heat, humidity, oil and even motion, so your foundation looks like it was just applied and it gives a flawless finish that lasts 24 hours. I have never needed a foundation on that long, but I would definitely agree with all of the claims and it certainly lasted me until I needed to remove it for bed time, 14 hours later.
I haven't tried anything from Shiseido before as it is quite a pricey brand - there is a face brush that goes with this foundation, but that alone costs £59.00! I personally couldn't justify that on a makeup brush. The foundation comes in a frosted glass bottle, and looks very sleek, and you have to twist the lid before pumping the product out, which I think is great for travelling with. I would have taken this to Orlando with me, but once I have a tan it will be too light for me.
I have tried this with and without a primer, as well as with and without setting powder, and I must say it doesn't make a difference, and I don't even bother with setting powder now when using this foundation. It feels very lightweight on the skin and it really is amazing how it continuously looks good all day long, this has definitely been my most-reached-for foundation since I first tried it out, as it is effortless.
The Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Foundation costs £39.00 for 30ml, which is standard foundation size, and whilst it isn't drugstore price, it certainly isn't the most priciest foundation on the market, especially for such a bourgeois brand, and one that works so well. You can find it online at Harvey Nichols here.
