Benefit The Porefessional Hydrate Primer Review

Tuesday 18 February 2020

Years and years ago I remember buying the Benefit The Prefessional Original Primer way before primers were a 'thing' and I loved it, I went through so many tubes and it is still to this day one of my favourite primers. The Porefessional Pearl was also a nice primer, but I didn't love it as much as the original. However, my skin has since changed, and gets pretty dry, partly down to my hormones, and so the Original Porefessional doesn't do as good a job as it used to. So, when I spotted that there was a new kid in town, the Benefit The Porefessional Hydrate Primer, I ordered it immediately.
The packaging is more or less the same as the original version, but with a blue colouring to it and you still receive 22ml of product, which I never thought was that much, and I did use to order the larger version. The formula has a peach colour to it, but this doesn't necessarily show up on the skin, so if you have a darker skin colour, this isn't going to alter your colouring or look too light.
Texture-wise, it is still kind of balmy like the Original, yet much more hydrating. For a full face, you do need quite a bit of product, which is why I used to buy the larger size, but I do prefer how hydrating this primer is compared to the original. With regards to performance, I would say this is just as good as the Original too, my makeup goes on super smoothly, there is no oil on my skin later on in the day and my makeup stays in place.
The Hydrate Primer contains Hyaluronic Acid which helps lock in moisture and Shea Butter to smooth and moisturise the skin, so this is definitely as much a skincare product as it is a makeup base, and I really love that. I have quite enlarged pores, and so no primer has ever completely erased those out, and I don't think I ever would find such a primer, but this definitely does make a difference.

The Benefit The Porefessional Hydrate Primer costs £29.00, which in my opinion is pretty pricey for the 22ml but if it works, like it does, then it is worth it. I just wouldn't use it on an everyday basis just because of the price. You can find it online at Benefit here.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
