Every Too Faced Foundation - What's The Difference?

Saturday 14 March 2020

Too Faced has been one of my favourite brands for years - well before they even brought it over to the UK and their foundations are amazing, but there are four to choose from, so I thought I would do a post on each and every one so that you can figure out which is the best one for you.
Starting out with an original, we have the Too Faced Born This Way Multi-Use Complexion Powder* (£29.00 for 10g). This is a 3-in-1 long-wearing powder foundation that can be used on its own for a quick and easy natural coverage that lasts for upto 12 hours or over liquid foundation to set makeup or add additional coverage. There are 25 shades available, which I think is amazing for a powder foundation and here I have the shade Cream Puff which works really well for my light skin tone. It comes in the classic Too Faced black and gold packaging and features a mirror on the inside of the lid and a sponge underneath the pan for on-the-go top-ups. The Born This Way Powder is suitable for all skin types and the formula helps to minimise the appearance of pores, imperfections, fine lines and wrinkles. I know that some Too Faced products do have a specific fragrance to them, but this one is fragrance-free, so if you have overly sensitive skin, this one will be great for you. As I mentioned, it does come with a sponge, but I prefer to use a large powder brush to apply this to my skin and it is great for those days when I don't want anything too heavy.
We then have the classic Too Faced Born This Way Liquid Foundation* (£29.00 for 30ml), which is available in 35 shades and I have the shade Porcelain, which again suits my light skin tone. This liquid foundation is infused with coconut water that helps to replenish the skin's moisture levels whilst wearing it, along with alpine rose which helps to empower the skin's health and hyaluronic acid, which I am sure by now we all know how amazing this is for keeping moisture locked into the skin. It is suitable for all skin types, but I think if you have a drier skin, this will work really well for you due to it containing hyaluronic acid. The coverage for this foundation is medium, and so it gives a natural, 'Born This Way' finish - hence the name, however, you can build it up to a fuller coverage. Born This Way Liquid Foundation also helps to minimise the appearance of pores and imperfections, whilst evening out skin tone, and due to it being both hydrating and lightweight, this is the foundation I tend to reach for on an everyday basis. Again, there is no particular fragrance to this product and it comes in a frosted glass bottle with a pump applicator and a black and gold cap.
Now getting in to the fruity options, we are starting with the Too Faced Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation* (£27.00 for 48ml), which is available in around 20 shades. I have the shade Vanilla, which is for a light to medium skin tone, so once the sunshine appears a little more, this will be a perfect match for my skin. Peach Perfect comes in a squeezy tube with a pump applicator and so you can control the amount of product you use. All skin types can use this foundation, however if you have oilier skin or you prefer a matte finish, then this will be the one for you. Even though it is a matte finish, it isn't thick or heavy on the skin and I find it very comfortable to wear and the peach fragrance is delightful without being overpowering or affecting a more sensitive skin. The formula is infused with peach and sweet fig milk and lasts up to 14 hours, and gives the skin a medium coverage, but again, because it has such a lovely formula, you can of course build it up, whilst still keeping that natural look to the skin.
The final foundation of the four is the Too Faced Tutti Frutti Dew You Full-Coverage Fresh Glow Foundation*, which is one of my favourites purely down to the watermelon scent it has! The Dew You Foundation is available in 20 shades, of which here I have Almond, the second lightest of the bunch and again great for a lighter skin tone like mine. This foundation, as the name suggests gives you a full coverage, which is the only one of the four which gives you that straightaway with just one application, so if you prefer that kind of coverage, then this one is for you. Dew You both hydrates and brightens the complexion and the formula is infused with watermelon, cucumber and Vitamin C, making it a very refreshing and hydrating formula. Suitable for all skin types, but due to the ingredients, I would say this is especially beneficial for drier skin types. It comes in a pretty baby pink and gold tube and has a pump applicator, which is one of my favourites types as then you can get the foundation out without making a mess. Even though this is a full coverage foundation, I still find it very comfortable to wear and not at all heavy on the skin, which is probably because it is also such a hydrating formula.
