Pat McGrath Mini MatteTrance Lipstick Trios Review + Swatches

Monday 16 March 2020

Every single Pat McGrath product that I have tried, I have loved, and I have been thoroughly impressed with the brand as a whole. It is a higher-end, luxury brand but they do smaller versions of their products, which work out such amazing value and are a great chance to try the brand before splurging on a full-sized item.
One of their latest mini releases is the Pat McGrath Mini MatteTrance Lipstick Trios, which are available in two colourways, Colour Blitz V2 and Skin Show V2, both of which are priced at £19.00 for three mini lipsticks. I ordered both sets because the colours looked amazing, but also because the packaging looks fabulous too - each lipstick is cased in neon packaging and I love it!
Starting with the Pat McGrath Mini MatteTrance Trio in Skin Show V2, there are yellow, neon coral and neon orange casings. The yellow case contains the shade Christy, a divine beige pink, the neon orange case contains the shade Beautiful Stranger, a coral rose, and the neon coral case contains the shade Flesh 3, a brown rose. So, if you are into your nude pinks, then this is the option for you. All three shades have the matte formula to them, and even though they give a great matte finish, the formula is also luxurious and creamy.
The Pat McGrath Mini MatteTrance Trio in Colour Blitz V2 comes in a holographic lilac pouch full of holographic lilac sequins, just as the Skin Show V2 set does. I love these little extra touches you get from Pat McGrath products. The lipstick casings in this trio include a neon purple, a bright pink and a turquoise blue. The turquoise blue case includes the shade Guinevere, which is a blooded crimson, the neon purple case includes the shade Elson, a blue-toned red and the bright pink case houses the shade Fever Dream, a peach sienna brown. Therefore, this set is for those of you who prefer a more pinky red shade of lipstick.
As I mentioned, the sets retail for £19.00, which works out at £6.33 a lipstick, and even though these are smaller versions, a full-sized matte lipstick from the brand retails for £35.00. This is definitely a good opportunity to try the brand at a fraction of the price, plus the mini size is perfect for popping in a clutch bag or purse. You can find the trio sets online at Pat McGrath here.
All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
