The Entire Too Faced Hangover Skincare Collection Review

Saturday 7 March 2020

Recently, there have been three brand new additions to the Too Faced Hangover Skincare family, and at the time of ordering they weren't available here in the UK, so I did order them from Sephora in France, however they are now available here too. Too Faced contacted me recently to see if I would like to try some of the skincare items, and so between those and my Sephora order, I now have the entire collection and wanted to give you the low down on each and every product.
Starting with one of the new additions, we have the Too Faced Hangover Wash The Day Away Pore-Purifying Gentle Foaming Cleanser (£20.00 for 125ml). This gentle foaming deep-clean cleanser comes in a pretty baby pink tube and the formula is powered by a refreshing blend of lime peel and apple extracts, with soothing ginger root and is lightly scented. To dispense, you simply twist the cap which has a hole in it and you can then squeeze the product out of it, which I think is a great idea as then you are not having to mess about screwing and unscrewing lids whilst you are doing your skincare routine. You only need a small amount mixed with a splash of water to create a creamy lather which then draws out any impurities in the skin and removes all traces of makeup and excess oil. The Cleanser also contains hyaluronic acid which is amazing for rebalancing and keeping the skin hydrated whilst locking moisture in. As with any cleanser, I would recommend using both morning and night time as part of your skincare routine.
The next step in your skincare routine would be the Too Faced Hangover Good In Bed Ultra-Replenishing Hydrating Serum* (£32.00 for 29ml). This comes in a white and baby pink glass bottle, and has a pump applicator so that you can control the amount of product you are releasing. The serum itself is clear and slightly gel-like in texture and feels very refreshing and hydrating on the skin as soon as you apply it. This Serum is suitable for all skin types and contains hyaluronic acid, coconut water, dragon fruit and Vitamin B5 to deeply moisturise the skin and keep it hydrated throughout the day. If you don't wear makeup every day, then this will still give your skin a natural, healthy glow, so it would be great for you. I know there is sometimes confusion with serums as to when to include them in a routine or whether you should use them in place of a moisturiser, however I personally believe they should be applied after cleansing and toning and before moisturising, but be sure to let the Serum sink into the skin before applying a moisturiser. I find that this serum sinks in instantly and is a very comfortable product, which I think would work well for sensitive skin as I find it quite soothing.
Speaking of moisturisers, we then have the Too Faced Hangover Good To Go Skin Protecting Moisturiser* (£29.00 for 40ml), which comes in a tube packaging and has a pump applicator, again which is great for controlling the amount of product you release. The Good To Go Moisturiser contains SPF25, which I think is great as especially in this country, we don't always think to apply sunscreen throughout the year. The formula contains hyaluronic acid, aloe leaf extract, coconut water, probiotics and cinnamon bark extract, and the hyaluronic acid is going to add moisture to the skin and keep it there, and the aloe leaf extract is going to be great for soothing and smoothing the skin, especially if you suffer from redness or sensitivity. Texture-wise, this moisturiser is creamy, yet lightweight and sinks into the skin straightaway and I adore the light coconut scent it has. Again, this product is suitable for all skin types, and I would recommend using this both morning and evening, after applying a serum. Due to the cold weather recently, my skin has been bordering on painfully-dry, and this has really awoken my skin and kept it feeling much more hydrated and comfortable.
If like me, your skin is super dry, then I would recommend stepping your skincare routine up a notch by using the Too Faced Hangover Pillow Cream Ultra-Nourishing Night Cream (£30.00 for 45ml). It arrived in the prettiest lilac and white pot, adorned with stars and has a light sweet dreamy fragrance to it - I really appreciate that Too Faced have made their skincare fragrances light as they still smell delicious but they aren't going to aggravate sensitive skin types. The Pillow Cream contains Too Faced's exclusive Dream Complex, which is powered by real stardust, hydrating coconut water, hyaluronic acid, seaweed extracts and nutrient-rich mango seed butter to rejuvenate, pamper and protect the skin throughout the night. The cream itself is slightly thicker than the Good To Go Moisturiser, but night creams tend to be, and it definitely doesn't border on being 'too thick' in texture. You can see the natural glow in the cream before you even apply it, and it looks rather ethereal. This is definitely a beautiful cream and I will repurchase it once I run out, however you do get a lot of product for the price, so it will last a good amount of time.
The iconic Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer* has had an upgrade, and you can now purchase it in an extra large size, the Major Hangover* (£40.00 for 65ml). I find this such a refreshing and nourishing primer and buying it in a larger size, saves you money towards more makeup, so you gotta love that! I find that the Hangover Primer benefits both my skin and the appearance of my makeup and it contains coconut water so it really hydrates the skin and smells super dreamy with that coconut fragrance. The Primer comes in a squeezy tube with a push down applicator and it is a silicone-free formula that is white in colour, but once massaged into the skin, dries clear. I know this can be classed as a makeup product, but I did want to include within this skincare post as it helps to boost the skin's radiance, promotes elasticity and hydrates the skin whilst keeping makeup in place, so I would say that it is slightly more a skincare product than makeup. If you aren't into wearing makeup every day, this can also be worn on its own to minimise pores and imperfections and keep the skin looking healthy, and once again this is suitable for all skin types.
Coconut and watermelon are my two favourite fruity fragrances, so when I saw the Too Faced Hangover 3-in-1 Replenishing Primer & Setting Spray* (£26.00 for 120ml) had a Watermelon makeover, I was super excited - it smells divine, like Jolly Rancher watermelon sweets and I love it! Formula-wise, this is exactly like the original Spray, just with watermelon extract for some fruity fragrance fun. This Spray comes in a bottle complete with spritzing nozzle and is a weightless 3-in-1 coconut water-infused mist that you can use to prime the skin, set makeup or refresh the skin or makeup throughout the day, and keeps skin hydrated and making looking fabulous. I adore multi-use products, especially for travelling with, as it is so much easier than carrying around multiple products when you can just use one. I find the Hangover Spray very hydrating and refreshing and love using it both before and after applying makeup, although I find I personally don't have to re-spritz during the day, but it is nice to keep in the fridge for when it is a hot day.
Finishing with one of the new releases, we have the Too Faced Hangover Pillow Balm Ultra-Hydrating & Nourishing Lip Treatment (£18.00 for 6ml). If you have tried the By Terry Baume De Rose lip balm, then this feels just like that texture-wise, except with a slight tingle to start with and much cheaper. This Lip Treatment comes in a pretty bottle and the applicator is a double-edged sponge applicator, making it a doddle to apply. Too Faced state that the formula is powered by ultra-charged minerals sourced from real falling stars, but I don't know how true that is! It is a super hydrating, rich, soft and nourishing balm that contains fruit oils and conditioning butters, hydrating coconut water and hyaluronic acid to keep lips feeling plumped and replenished. You know when you apply a lip plumper, and you end up naturally pouting more because your lips feel fuller? Well, I find that happens with this and I am certainly not complaining about having fuller, plumper lips because my lips are naturally quite thin. With this balm, you feel like your lips are cocooned in softness and protection and I have been reaching for this a lot lately with the cold weather.
You can find Too Faced Hangover Skincare in-store and online at Debenhams here.
