Lauren Conrad Beauty - Five Favourite Makeup Products (Review)

Tuesday 9 February 2021

Lauren Conrad has been my absolute favourite since her Laguna Beach days. There has always been something so beautiful and natural about her persona and beauty. When she released a clothing line many years ago in America, I always made sure I stocked up when I was there, even though of course, I didn't get to go last year. In 2020, Lauren released her Lauren Conrad Beauty line, which consists of both makeup and skincare products. As shipping to the UK isn't currently available, I did have to use a shipping company to get them to me, but there was no way I was missing out!

I have tried pretty much every product in the collection, so I wanted to put together my five favourites and tell you why I am loving them so much! First up, is the Lauren Conrad The Powder Blush ($25), which is available in two shades, and I have Peach, which is more of a pinky-peach than an orange-toned peach, but very pretty on the skin. The lightweight formula gives a buildable, medium coverage and has a natural, demi-matte finish, which looks natural and more skin-like compared to a heavier blush. It is worth noting that the packaging, which is clean and simple, is also environmentally clean, as on their website, it gives you full instructions on how to fully recycle each component of the packaging, which is also why there are no mirrors included in the packaging.

Onto the eyes, and the Lauren Conrad The Eyeliner Pencil ($18.00) comes in just the one shade at the moment, Onyx, which is a true black. The pencil has a smooth, creamy texture, which I find applies super easily and even on my often-watery eyes, this stays put on my waterline, which is something I often struggle with when it comes to eyeliner. Again, the packaging is simple yet elegant and the whole collection has a nude-peach colour theme running throughout.

Now, what would a Lauren Conrad makeup collection be without a liquid eyeliner to recreate her signature winged liner look? Lauren herself said that she put together components of her three favourite liquid eyeliners to create the Lauren Conrad The Eyeliner ($20.00). Again, at the moment this is just available in the shade Onyx, which is a true classic black. The Eyeliner has a super fine brush to it, which makes liquid eyeliner a doddle, even if you are nowhere near a pro at it like myself. The formula gives a rich, bold finish and because of the fine brush, you can create a simple thin lash line, or go for a full-out bold wing. I find this so easy to apply and it stays in place without smudging throughout the day.

Lauren has also released two eyeshadow palettes, the Lauren Conrad The Eyeshadow Palette ($29.00), which is available in two colour options - Sunrise, the one I have here and Magic Hour, which is more pink-toned. I think a lot of us now prefer a neat, petite eyeshadow palette compared to some of the huge bulkier ones as they are so much easier to store (and travel with, once we can do safely!). Sunrise contains a pale cream satin, a light gold shimmer satin, a warm gold shimmer, and then three mattes, featuring a dark brown, a brick red and a true nude. I love how you can use these six eyeshadows to create so many different looks, and you could also use the deepest brown for eyeliner or eyebrows and the pale nude as a brow highlight. The formula is super soft and smooth, and I find them very pigmented with minute fall out.

Finally, I adore the Lauren Conrad The Lipstick ($20) in the shade Poppy. It is a true blue-toned (which means it is the kind of red that doesn't make your teeth appear discoloured) classic red, and this lasts SO long throughout the day! I love a red lipstick, as sometimes I like to keep my makeup quite plain and simple, and so a red lip always amps it up, but I struggle with feathering around the lips and it smudging off within no time at all. However, this formula is not at all like that, and it really does stay in place exactly where I applied it. The formula is well-pigmented and so one swipe and you're done! The Lipstick is currently available in three other shades, a nude, a magenta and a warmer, darker nude.

You can find Lauren Conrad Beauty online here.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
