Kathryn's Loves: The I Heart Revolution Unicorn Heart Collection Review & Swatches

Today is my 37th birthday! Yet another lockdown birthday, but today I have a treat of a post for you. There is a brand new makeup collection now available, the I Heart Revolution Unicorn Heart range and it is full of beautiful shimmers, iridescent and soft pastels. Today I will be sharing with you my thoughts on every single product from the collection.

First, we have the I Heart Revolution Unicorn Heart Glow Brush Set* (£15.00) which comes packaged in a holographic reusable makeup bag. The set contains a powder brush, foundation brush, concealer brush and an eyeshadow brush and each one has a holographic handle and super soft, baby pink bristles. These are such beautiful brushes and as they are so soft, yet full, they apply product to the skin seamlessly without the need to pull or tug on sensitive areas such as the eyelids. I have tried quite a lot of brushes from Revolution as a whole and they always last however often I clean them. This is a great little set whether you are a newbie to makeup or a pro!

As a lot of these products are shimmery or holographic and iridescent, it is hard for a lot of them to show up on still camera. However, the I Heart Revolution Unicorn Heart Glow Mist* (£8.00 for 100ml) is full of the most mystical pink shimmer, which adds a gorgeous glow to the complexion. The Glow Mist is infused with Vitamin E to keep the skin hydrated and has a delicate vanilla blossom fragrance to it, which I don't mind whatsoever! As soon as you spritz this onto the skin, it instantly cools and refreshes it, and I think this will be amazing in Summer and who's to say you can't use this on the rest of your body too? I have used this on my shoulders and arms and it looks so pretty, so I can't even imagine how cool it will look with a tan!

We then have the I Heart Revolution Unicorn Heart Glow Serum Primer* (£10.00 for 30ml), which comes in a glass bottle and has a pipette for you to dispense the serum from. This too contains pink shimmer particles and so we are really g(l)o(w)ing all out here! This is a very nourishing, comfortable serum that is infused with Vitamin E and Argon Oil to keep skin nourished throughout the day as well as helping your makeup adhere and keeping it in place for longer. Just like with the Glow Mist, the Serum has that sweet Vanilla Berry fragrance to it, which is just delicious. You only need a couple of drops for the entire complexion and my skin instantly looks healthier and glowy.

One of my favourite products from the collection is the I Heart Revolution Unicorn Heart Glow Heart Highlighter* (£6.00). I have quite cool-toned fair skin at this time of year and so finding a highlighter that isn't too warm for my skin can be hard. However, this Unicorn Heart Highlighter is perfection - it comes in a silver and baby pink heart-shaped box and has a creamy white, soft pink and light champagne colour story that can be used as individual highlighters, or blended all together to create a magical glow to the skin. The formula is soft and creamy and not at all powdery, so it blends into the skin seamlessly to give the prettiest of glows without the glitter.

I know some people complain about having an all shimmer eyeshadow palette, but shimmers are my absolute favourite kind of eyeshadows and so I have been LOVING the I Heart Revolution Unicorn Heart Glow Shadow Palette* (£10.00). This holographic-fronted eyeshadow palette contains 18 rich metallic shimmering eyeshadows with a super pigmented, yet oh-so-creamy formula that gives you true colour and rich payoff from just one swatch, so if you are in a hurry, this will take seconds to really glam up your makeup look. There are some iridescent shades within this palette which shift colour, and so they don't pick up on still camera, but oh my goodness they are everything! I love that this palette is going to take you through Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter given the different tones and shades, ranging from light pastels, through to warmer deeper colours. You simply cannot go wrong with the Revolution brands' eyeshadow formula, even more so for the price.

Last, but certainly not least are the I Heart Revolution Unicorn Heart Glow Balms* (£5.00 each), which are sheer shimmer lip balms that have a hint of colour to them. The formula contains Argon Oil and Vitamin E to keep the lips moisturised and they simply glide onto the lips, without feeling slippery or sticky. They too have the Vanilla Blossom fragrance that runs throughout this collection and the shades included are Adventure - Rosey Red, Fantasy - Soft Peach, Myth - a Clear but with iridescent sparkle, and Story - a Soft Pink. Even though the balms contain shimmer, they are not at all detectable to feel on the lips, which is something I dislike with some shimmer lip products and so they are super comfortable to wear.
