I love beauty boxes - I love the thrill of being sent a surprise each month of brand new products or brands I haven't come across before. However, as a whole, beauty boxes haven't previously been all that great in the UK, but that has recently changed thanks to the TOYL (Time of Your Life) Beauty Box.
This is the beauty box which has been designed for women over 40 - I am 37, and even if I was younger, I would still wholly love this box. TOYL puts a huge amount of effort into each and every one of their monthly boxes and they will often have a theme, so you don't end up with an eyeliner every month or 15 moisturisers. Karen, the TOYL founder also creates You Tube videos on their channel discussing the contents of the boxes and how to use them, which again is something amazing that I haven't seen any other beauty box do before.
The TOYL beauty boxes cost £35.00 a month including post and packaging and there is not contract, so you can pause or cancel at any time. Although I have complete faith that you wouldn't find the need to cancel as these boxes are the best on the market. Each product within the box is full size - none of this sample size malarkey - FULL SIZES!
So what's in the box? You get a pamphlet explaining the products in the box, a little extra treat of a Lindt Chocolate Egg (oh my goodness, I already ate it before taking a photo!), an information card an how to care for and apply makeup to the eyes, and then, like that wasn't enough, you also get a Skin Republic sheet mask with the opportunity and note and envelope to gift it to a friend or keep it for yourself. I gifted mine to a friend as I thought it was such a lovely thing to do.
The TOYL April 2021 Box focuses on the eyes, and this box is worth over £147.00 and that isn't including the extra egg and face mask. The first product you receive is the Emma Hardie Midas Touch Revitalising Eye Serum (RRP £49.00 for 15ml), which is a lightweight eye serum that lifts and tightens the eye contour area, fades dark circles and reduces puffiness. I adore Emma Hardie, her products work, and this sounds like heaven for my currently super tired eyes!
You then get the Bellapierre TwistUP Brow Pencil in the shade Cocoa (RRP £18.00 for 0.3g), which should work out for most skin tones as you can either go in with a light hand or build it up for a deeper colour. This Pencil has a spoolie on one end to fluff up the brows and then a fine crayon on the other, which works amazingly well at creating super natural brow hairs.
I have seen a lot of people using blue eyeliner again recently, and TOYL have got you covered with the Bellapierre Waterproof Gel Eye Liner in the shade Sapphire Blue (RRP £17.00 for 1.8g). Bellapierre create soft mineral makeup, and so this is super creamy and easy to apply without tugging at that delicate eye area. What a wonderful product to take us through to Summer.
If you follow my blog, you will know I love Stila products and this box not only has one Stila product in, it has three! Three full sized Stila products. Is this not the best box ever?! First up is the Stila Suede Shade Liquid Eye Shadow (RRP £24.00 for 4.5ml), which I have other versions of, and they are the cult liquid shadows - they don't budge, smudge or settle in creases, and give the most beautiful colour payoff right from the first swipe. You will receive either the shade Sassy or Nude Awakening, which is the shade I received, and is a beautiful soft nude, perfect for everyday wear.
As I am quite fair-haired and fair-skinned, I do often prefer a brown eyeliner over a black one, and so I as delighted to see the Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in the shade Lionfish (RRP £22.00 for 0.28g). The formula is one of the my favourites and and Lionfish has a slight shimmer to it, so it really makes the eyes pop, whilst also giving a very pretty, natural-looking eyeline. Once this dries down, it does not budge, so if you have watery eyes, this is one liner that isn't going to make you have panda eyes!
Finally, even though this is an Eye-themed box, TOYL have provided the Stila All Day Liquid Lipstick in the shade Beso. (RRP £17.00 for 3ml). Beso is a beautiful classic red and its creamy matte, full coverage formula also adds moisture to the lips and stays in place for most of the day Therefore, as with some liquid lipsticks, this isn't going to dry them out and red is always such a great option to have for any time of the year.
The TOYL Beauty Box retails for £35.00, but you can save £5 with the code LOVES. Head over to the website here, and don't forget to add the code to get over £147.00 of products for just £30.00 with free delivery!
All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
