Dear Dahlia are a vegan and cruelty-free cosmetics brand that took inspiration by the Dahlia flower, which is known for its timeless beauty. The brand is committed to redefining luxury vegan beauty in all aspects, including product performance, ingredients and their stunning marble design packaging. All of their products are infused with Dalia Variabilis flower extract that offers skin-conditioning properties to give long-lasting protection and benefits for a natural glow. The makeup range is also enriched with certified skin-nourishing ingredients, including Shea Butter, Cacao Seed Butter, Sweet Almond Oil and Argan Oil, so not only do they help to enhance your natural beauty, they also take care of your skin too.
Let's start at the top of the face with the Dear Dahlia Perfect Brow Longwear Sculpting Pencil* (£25.00 for 0.35g). This is available in three shades, and here I have the shade Dutch Brown, which is their medium shade and it works really well for my colouring as it is not too warm toned. The Pencil comes in weighted sleek white and rose gold packaging and has a spoolie at one end and the tapered brow crayon at the other. The tip is a flat-angled triangular tip so I find it super quick and easy to be precise and in control to create easy brows in no time. I find that the formula lasts all day long, without budging or smudging and it looks seamless on the skin. I love how you can use this lightly, or build up the formula easily to create a bolder brow, taking you from everyday to full-out glam in seconds!
I have always been a bit of a magpie when it comes to glitter and shimmer, especially when it comes to makeup and I have been loving the Dear Dahlia Paradise Shine Eye Sequins* (£25.00 for 4g). There are six stunning shades available, and here I have Heroine, a soft taupe shimmer and Queen, a delectable bronze shade full of iridescent shimmer. This liquid eyeshadow comes in classic faceted Dear Dahlia packaging and they have a flat double-sided sponge applicator wand, so you can apply straight onto the lids or dab a little onto the fingertips and then smooth out that way. The formula is infused with a blend of high-shine pearls and glamourous glitters that are lightweight and comfortable to wear - you don't feel any pieces of glitter when you touch your lids, and so they are completely safe for use on the eyelids. You can either wear them on their own or over powder eyeshadow to really amp up your look, and even though I have hooded lids, I find that these don't crease once applied, which is heaven for me as so many liquid shadows cause that issue.
Over the past few years, I have much preferred my eyeshadow palettes neat and compact - I am not one for bulky packaging, nor am I one for a 60-pan palette. I like palettes that are handy to travel with, and ones that fit neatly in my drawers. The Dear Dahlia Blooming Edition Secret Garden Palette* (£51.00 for 9.8g) in the colour option Flower Bed, is a must-have. This sweet palette contains a mirror on the inside of the lid, and then eight eyeshadows in a variety of formulas and then you even get a blusher in the middle. These are some of the softest eyeshadows I have ever felt, and the formula is infused with a nourishing concoction of Sweet Almond Oil, Argan Kernel Oil, Shea Butter and Cacao Seed Butter to keep the skin replenished, protected and moisturised. The shades range from soft velvety pinks to warm browns and burgundies, with some metallics and shimmers thrown in for good measure. This is such a versatile palette and the blush shade is a perfect light pink to add a flush of colour to the complexion that works really well with the eyeshadows. Each shadow is highly pigmented, and very blendable due to them being so super soft so whether you are a beginner to eyeshadow or a pro, this palette is definitely an excellent option.
Another amazing multi-use product that is super neat and petite is the Dear Dahlia Paradise Dual Palette* (£26.00 for 4g). The Paradise Dual Palette has gorgeous marbled packaging and you open one side to reveal two eyeshadows and the other to reveal a multi-use balm, with a dual-sided mirror in the middle for on the go use. This is available in a variety of shades and here I have Lady Oxford, which contains a light and medium to deep brown matte shadow, which you could also use as a brow powder, and then a peachy creamy balm that you could use as a lip colour, a cheek product or even on the eyelids! I do love a multi-use product and this little compact is such a powerhouse for its size. The balm is super lightweight and easily blendable and comfortable on the skin, enhanced with Dahlia Variabilis Flower Extract which has antioxidant benefits and anti-ageing powers to support supple, healthy-looking skin. I definitely want to pick this up in other shades as it is just so handy and versatile.
Finally, for the lips, I am loving the Dear Dahlia Paradise Dream Velvet Lip Mousse* (£25.00 for 6.5ml), which are available in a choice twelve shades. Each one comes in that stunning, luxe marbled and rose gold packaging and there are little windows so that you can see the shade through the packaging which is always handy. These are the softest, most comfortable lip tints I have tried and they LAST for sure - even after the initial product has worn away, you are left with a tint of colour, which is particularly useful at the moment with all of the mask wearing. The Lip Mousses have a richly pigmented formula that wears to a powdery matte finish and that is light as a feather, not at all drying on the lips and supremely comfortable. The shades I have here, in order are Ballet, a dusky pink, Cancun, a vivid coral pink, and Sangria, a deep rich pink, almost the colour of Sangria. I adore that you can choose a nice everyday neutral like Ballet or really step it up with Cancun for a pop of colour. These can also be used on the cheeks and as they dry down to a soft matte finish, they are not at all tacky on the skin and look very smooth and blended. The formula contains Dahlia Variabilis Flower Extract as a form of antioxidant, along with Sweet Almond Oil, Argan Kernel Oil, Shea Butter and Cacao Seed Butter to help nourish, soothe and condition the lips so that they appear much smoother and healthier.
