The Dior Dioriviera Summer 2022 Collection Review + Swatches

Saturday 23 April 2022

I LOVE Dior Beauty products so much - I have quite the collection of their makeup products and if I could afford to, I would absolutely use their skincare! Dior products are just so beautiful to look at and they always perform amazingly well. This month saw the release of the new Dior Dioriviera collection and so I of course had to pick up a few bits!

Beginning with the Dior Forever Couture Luminizer Dioriviera Intense Highlighting Powder (they always have such long names!), this retails for £42.00 for 6g and there are a choice of two shades - Pink Riviera, a solar pink, and Nude Riviera, a luminous gold. I opted for Nude Riviera as I have a pink Dior highlighter already and I don't really have anything in this kind of colour in my collection. The Highlighting Powder comes in a glossy, cushioned compact with a mirror on the inside of the lid and the highlighter itself is embossed with their most recent design, the bayadere motif. The formula is infused with Wild Pansy Extract to preserve the skin's natural hydration for a comfortable glow that lasts all day long. Dior's highlighters always melt into the skin effortlessly, and always give a lit-from-within-glow rather than a full on glitter/shimmer moment, which I nine times out of ten prefer as it looks a lot more natural. Pearlescent pigments with an iridescent, multidimensional shimmer instantly perfect the complexion with beautiful radiance and wears all day long. I have quite fair to light skin, and this works well already, but I think with a tan in the Summer it will be on another level!

My current favourite makeup product is bronzer! After my surgery I was so pale for so long after being housebound for months, and so the best way I found to liven my complexion up was with bronzer and I am obsessed. I picked up the Dior Forever Natural Bronze Riviera Healthy Sun-Kissed Skin Bronzer (£42.00 for 9g). Again, there are two shades available, Tan Bronze, which is the one I have, which says it is suitable for medium skin tones, however it works great on my light skin, and Warm Bronze, suitable for medium and warm skin tones. The packaging and motif are the same as the Highlighter, and something I love doing is using it as a base eyeshadow and then adding some shimmer from the highlighter! So pretty! The formula is enriched with 95% pigments of mineral origin and the texture blends seamlessly into the skin for a weightless effect. It too has the Wild Pansy Flower Extract to keep the skin comfortable throughout the day. The Bronzer doesn't look muddy on the skin, nor does it bunch up on top of liquid foundation, and so gives the skin a natural-looking warmth to shape and bronze the complexion.

Unless you have been hiding under a rock this past year or so, you will have seen the Dior Addict Lip Glow Oils (£29.50 for 6ml), and are probably aware how most of the shades are STILL sold out. Yeah, thanks for that TikTok! Fear not, however, as Dior have released two new shades for this collection - Bronze Glow, a luminous bronze, and Peach Glow, a delicate peach. I haven't taken photos of swatches of these as on camera they don't really show up any colour, but they do add a gentle tint of colour on the lips. For those not in the know, the Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil is a glossy lip oil that protects and enhances the lips, bringing out their natural colour. The formula is infused with Cherry Oil, to instantly nourish, protect, soften and revitalise the lips. There is a slight minty smell to the formula and the applicator is a wide shaped sponge so it is super easy and quick to apply. The Lip Oils adapt to all lip colours to bring out their rosy glow and they are not at all greasy or sticky, and create a smoothing effect that shapes the lips with shine and a plumping effect. Oh, and even though these are plumping, they are definitely not at all painful like some lip plumpers can be! You can wear them on their own, under lipstick, over lipstick, they really are multi-use and if you are thinking about owning one, I would definitely make a run for it whilst you can!

I am not fully sure if this next item is a part of the new collection, but I was excited to try it out and thought I would include it in this post anyway as it is new. The Dior Addict Lip Tint is available in 12 gorgeous colours and I chose the shade Natural Peach, as peach tones are my favourite for Summer as it suits my colouring well. They are a bit steep at £30.00 for 5ml, but it is Dior, so you do expect that. The Lip Tint is the first no-transfer Dior lip tint with up to 12 hour long-lasting wear that gives the lips a bold colour in a semi-matte finish. the formula is infused with Cherry Oil, like the Glow Oils to hydrate the lips for up to 24 hours so it is very comfortable to wear. The tube is embossed with the Dior logo and the applicator is flat and double-sided to give precise application. The shade Natural Peach is so pretty and unlike some matte and semi-matte lip products, it doesn't dry out on the lips or look flaky or cakey. I would definitely pick up a few more shades if I had the money as there are so many stunning options to choose from and I love how long the formula lasts on the lips.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
