I love the Estee Lauder Double Wear line, but the original foundation isn't agreeing with my skin at the moment (our skin is forever changing), so I thought I would try the Estee Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover, as I haven't tried it before, even though it isn't a new product.
The Estee Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover retails at £35.00 for 30ml and comes in sixteen shades, of which I chose 1C1 Cool Bone, which is Light with Cool, Rosy-Peach Undertones as my skin is fair to light depending on the time of year. The Foundation comes in a navy squeezy tube with a gold twist-off lid and has a narrow tip where the product comes out.
This Foundation provides up to 12 hour wear and is a soothing, liquid-creme makeup that conceals all skin imperfections, including surgical and acne scars, birthmarks, sun spots and varicose veins. This is for both the face and the body, and as I have a lot of scarring from my various surgeries, I thought it might be cool to try it out on the body. I do also have a varicose vein on the back of my leg, which most of the time doesn't bother me, but it is nice to have the option of covering it up if I so wish.
The formula also contains SPF15, but I do always recommend using an additional sunscreen every day. I find that it has a very soft, comfortable formula and it blends instantly into the skin, covering up imperfections. Even though it is high coverage, it isn't thick or heavy on the skin, nor does it settle into fine lines. Throughout the day it doesn't bunch up or transfer onto clothing, which is great with it being both a face and body foundation.
It is not often you see these kinds of products on the market, but you can even use this post-surgery as it has been created with dermatologists so that it is safe to do so. I don't love my scars - they are pretty large and unsightly, but they did save my life, and it is nice to have the option to cover them up if I am feeling self-conscious.
